Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain 2011-2016 Toyota Tacoma and 4Runner vehicles equipped with accessory hood scoops installed by SET or SET dealers. The adhesive attaching the hood scoop may weaken, allowing the hood scoop to detach from the vehicle.
Fix: SET will notify owners, and dealers will mechanically fasten the scoop to the hood, free of charge. The recall began on September 1, 2017. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-954-429-2000. SET's number for this recall is SET17B.

The paint is peeling on the exterior of both passenger-side doors above the window frame on your 2015 Tacoma. You're not alone—Toyota has issued a recall for this issue on certain vehicles with Super White paint, but your VIN wasn't included in that recall even though your truck has the same problem. Fixing this will likely require Toyota to repaint the affected door panels or replace them entirely.

Your truck's factory white paint is peeling around the window frames. Toyota's customer service told you that your 2015 model year wasn't included in their service repair program (SRP 23TE08) that covers the same issue for 2016-2022 trucks. You're hoping to get your repair approved by filing this complaint. The fix would likely involve Toyota repainting the affected window frame areas.

BUSHING BETWEEN TRUCK BED AND FRAME WORE OUT CAUSING BED TO BOUNCE AROUND
PAINT IS VERY WEAK, THIN, AND SCRATCHES VERY EASILY. VERY LOW QUALITY PAINT JOB. CLEAR COAT IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS IS A BLACK TRUCK AND THE PRIMER IS WHITISH COLOR SO EVERY LITTLE SCRATCH SHOWS VERY CLEARLY. A TENNIS BALL BOUNCING OFF THE TRUCK LEAVES SCRATCHES INTO THE PRIMER, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. TOYOTA RESPECTFULLY DECLINED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF CONTACTING COOPERATE, AND THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO SPEAK TO MANAGERS. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, A WHISTLING SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WEATHER STRIPPING OF BOTH DOORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THE WHISTLING SOUND I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR WHILE I WAS DRIVING OVER 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN I HEARD SAME WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR THE NEXT TIME I WAS ON HIGHWAY GOING OVER 55 MPH. THEN IT CAME FROM BOTH SIDES OF PICKUP AND SOUNDED LIKE NOISE COMING FROM BOTH OUTSIDE MIRRORS ON FRONT OF MY TRUCK. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND OTHERS WHO REPORTED SIMILAR NOISE WHILE DRIVING PICKUP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT MY TOYOTA TACOMA IN AUGUST OF 2015 AND THE SERVICE CENTER REPRESENTATIVE, ALAN ADVISED ME THAT TO DATE THERE WAS NO RECALL BUT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WOULD TRY TO DO SOMETHING TO ALLEVIATE THE NOISE FROM FRONT AREA OF THE PICKUP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS WET, IT MADE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE AND EXTREME MOISTURE ACCUMULATED IN THE DOOR WELL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500. ......UPDATED 04/01/16 *BF CONSUMER STATED PROBLEM IS UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT CUT IN CARPET FOR SOME KIND OF HOSE COMING THRU FLOOR BOARD, FOGGING WINDOWS AND ICE COLD AIR COMING THUR FLOOR BOARD. I JUST BOUGHT THIS TOYOTA TACOMA PRERUNNER TRD OFF ROAD TRIM, AT LONGO TOYOTA, EL MONTE , CA AND I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF PRODUCT I BOUGHT AT THAT DEALERSHIP I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AROUND OR GONE TO WHERE I ALWAYS GO CERRITOS AUTO SQUARE. THE TRUCKS REAR LIFT GATE ONLY CLOSES FROM THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE LEFT SIDE REMAINS OPENS I NEED TO SLAM IT SHUT SO IT CAN COMPLETELY CLOSE, BUT THEN WHEN I OPEN IT THE LIFT GATE OPENS WITH FORCE FROM THE LEFT SIDE IT'S POPS OPEN IT DOESN'T OPEN LIKE IT SHOULD. ALSO THE FRONT TOYOTA EMBLEM ON THE GRILL IS LOOSE NOT TIGHT LIKE IT SHOULD BE AND TO FINALIZE THIS COMPLAINT THE SPACE BETWEEN THE HOOD AND CHROME PIECE THAT GOES AROUND THE FONT GRILL IT IS UNEVEN, THIS IS DISAPPOINTING. I WENT FROM A HONDA TO A TOYOTA BUT IT'S NOT STARTING OUT WELL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE REAR LIFT GATE THAT WON'T CLOSE FROM THE LEFT SIDE MAYBE THE LIFT GATE IS CROOKED. *JS
Your Tacoma's paint is peeling or chipping, which Toyota has acknowledged as a known issue in some white vehicles through a customer support program. Toyota's dealer confirmed you have this problem, but your specific Tacoma isn't covered under their official program even though it has the same defect. Addressing this would likely involve repainting the affected areas or applying a protective coating.

Your rear driver's side door has paint peeling or failing where the window seal meets the door frame, in an area about 2 inches tall by 3/4 inch wide. There's no rock chip or other damage that would explain why the paint failed in this spot. This appears to be a paint adhesion or coating defect rather than damage from normal wear.
