The contact owned a 2017 Toyota Corolla IM. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH, another vehicle struck the driver's side front door, causing the seat belt to forcefully retract inward on his chest. The air bags were deployed upon impact. The contact received medical attention for his chest pain and was diagnosed with two hernias. A police report was filed. The vehicle was driven to the residence by his neighbor and was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
