The tire had a blowout on the inside of the tire close to the inner rim. No road debris has been experienced on the trip on 71 N from Columbus to Cleveland. The blowout occured at around 10 PM Saturday (5/13/2023) A tire should not have an inner wall rupture unless the tire has a defect. Tire wall is separating at the seem, can easly slide a card under separation. Appears it was not properly adhered per mechanic
FALKEN 215 45 17 Bought preowned Corolla from Jeep Only dealership. Was told went through 125 point inspection. Brought car to Firestone who told me both rear tires are dangerous to drive. Right rear has bubble on side and split. Left rear split as well. Jeep Only sold car in that condition. If I drove on Freeway and got blow out, could have caused accident, injury or death.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR BLEW A TIRE ON THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED IN AN AWKWARD LOCATION, CLOSE TO THE INNER WALL OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN FOR 25000 MILES.
2016 TOYOTA COROLLA WITH 30,000 MILES ON ORIGINAL HANKOOK OPTIMO 195/65R H426 TIRES. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT COMPLETE TIRE TREAD SEPARATION. DOT# 5MDH DL H. I WAS DRIVING ON A COUNTRY ROAD AT 55 MPH WHEN COMPLETE TIRE TREAD SEPARATION OCCURRED. NO INJURIES, HOWEVER TIRE TREAD SEPARATION DESTROYED INSIDE WHEEL-WELL PLASTIC PROTECTION COVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 TOYOTA COROLLA EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE 740 TIRES, SIZE: 215/45/R17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE ONLY AT 32 PSI, WHICH CAUSED THE SIDEWALL TO FAIL AND TOUCH THE PAVEMENT. THE MAXIMUM PSI, ACCORDING TO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL, WAS 32 PSI; HOWEVER, THE TIRES HAD A PSI OF 51. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PRESSURE WAS 32 PSI AND NO MORE. THE DEALER WOULD NOT INFILTRATE ANY MORE TIRE PRESSURE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE LIABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIRES AT HIS EXPENSE WITH 205/55/16R. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE AND VEHICLE WAS 25. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
