I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE ECM RECALL CAMPAIGN, IN 2011 I TOOK MY TOYOTA TO MY LOCAL DEALER (BAYSIDE TOYOTA) AND THEY INSPECTED THE ECM UNIT AND DEEMED IT OK, NOT IN THE RECALL SERIAL NUMBERS. IN 2018 MY TOYOTA FAILED STATE EMISSIONS (NO OBD-2 PORT COMMUNICATION) AND BEGAN STALLING AND DIFFICULT STARTING. I REMOVED THE ECM UNIT AND DISCOVERED THAT THE SERIAL NUMBERS ARE WITHIN THE 2011 RECALL PARAMETERS. I BROUGHT THE TOYOTA BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALER, THEY INSPECTED THE ECM AND AGREE THAT IT WAS WITHIN THE RECALL SERIAL NUMBERS. MY TOYOTA HAS BEEN AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (BAYSIDE) SINCE THURSDAY, JANUARY 8 2019. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT TOYOTA CORP. HAS NOT APPROVED THE ECM REPLACEMENT. WE HAD OUR CAR SERVICED JUST PRIOR TO HITTING 300,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AFTER A WEEK OR SO WE OBSERVED THAT THE ODOMETER HAD NOW STUCK ON 299,999 AND FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD AFTERWARDS. 11-16-18 CALLED AND TALKED TO RICARDO AT THERE NATIONWIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. THEY STATED TO CONTACT OUR LOCAL CUSTOMER RELATIONS MGR IN VENTURA, CA. I PLACED A CALL AND RELAYED MY PROBLEM TO PATRICIA (XXXXX). SHE PUT ME IN TOUCH WITH RICHARD IN THEIR OFFICE WHO CTC THE REGIONAL PARTS MGR TO SEE IF THEY WERE COVERING PARTS WITH THIS PROBLEM I HEARD BACK TODAY THEY WERE NOT. MENTIONED IF YOU GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM THERE WERE NUMEROUS REPORTS IN THE PAST INCLUDING ONE BY NBC LOS ANGELES OCTOBER 1, 2014. I MENTIONED THIS AS WELL, BUT THEY STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT AREN'T COVERING BECAUSE THEY ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. I ASKED HOW YOU EXPECT TO HIT 300,000 MILES WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT IT'S OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT. THE COST THRU TOYOTA IS $700+. PULLED INTO PARKING SPACE WITH BRAKE ON AND THE CAR ACCELERATED PUSHING ME OVER A LARGE ROCK WHICH PUNCTURED TRANSMISSION PAN. HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. IF THERE WERE PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME THEY WOULD BE DEAD.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I HEARD A LOUD BANG! ILOOKED AROUND, NO CARS WERE NEAR ME, I DIDN'T NOTICE A CHANGE IN THE CAR, I SLOWED DOWN WHEN I HAD A CHANCE GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE CAR EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE UNTIL I NOTICED A BIG HOLE IN MY SUNROOF I DIDN'T SEE A ROCK OR ANYTHING MY HEART WAS RACING. I WAS CLOSE TO AN EXIT SO PULLED OFF WHEN I GOT THE CHANCE TO A GAS STATION I HAD SOME DUCT TAPE IN THE CAR SO I TAPED UP THE GLASS SO IT WOULDN'T FALL OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED THE STATE POLICE TO REPORT THE INCIDENT THEY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS STRANGE AT ALL I THOUGHT SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE THROWN SOMETHING AT THE SUNROOF BECAUSE OTHERWISE WHY WOULD IT SHATTER. IT WAS VERY SCARY THANKFULLY MY CAR INSURANCE COVER THE COST OF REPLACING IT.

TOW ON RIGHT REAREND IS OFF (-0.01). ONLY GET 20000 OUT OF ANY SET OF TIRES INSTALLED AND GARAGE TELLS ME IT IS DUE TO TOW BEING OFF.
PAINT ON MY VEHICLE IS CHIPPING AND CLEAR COAT COMING OFF. I'VE SEEN MANY COROLLA'S THE SAME MODEL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
THE ENGINE IS STALLING. I NOTICED THIS AT LEAST A MONTH AGO. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 OR 6 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. IT FIRST OCCURRED WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT AT SCHOOL. I DROVE MAYBE 5 OR 6 FEET LESS THAN 10 MPH THEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT DID RESTART, BUT IT JERKED ONCE OR TWICE AND KEPT GOING. THE NEXT DAY, I WAS ABLE TO START CAR AND DRIVE A LITTLE FURTHER, MAYBE A MILE AT ABOUT 30 MPH. WHEN I ENTERED AN ENTRANCE RAMP ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF ACCELERATION. I HAD TO VEER TO THE SHOULDER. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK,THEN RESTARTED THE ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A FEW MILES. THEN, I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO EXIT ON A RAMP WHEN IT STALLED AGAIN. I EXITED FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT TO COMPOSE MYSELF BECAUSE THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE HONKING AND DRIVERS UPSET THAT VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT NOTICE. THE VEHICLE DID CUT OFF AT A HIGHER SPEED AS WELL. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN IT TURNED OFF, BUT IMMEDIATELY TURNED BACK ON WITHIN SECONDS. I WAS VERY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY WITH KIDS IN THE CAR.

LAST WEEK, AS I WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED ROAD, I HEARD THAT MAYBE I HIT A SMALL ROCK, HOWEVER, I DID NOT SEE ANY ROCKS ON THE ROAD. THE NEXT DAY, MY AC STOPPED WORKING. I FOUND A POSTING ON THE INTERNET THAT THE A/C CONDENSERS ON 2005/2006 COROLLAS ARE NOT PROTECTED AND THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED BY TOYOTA- NUMBER AC002-06. TOYOTA HAS REDESIGNED THE COROLLA TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM IN 2007 LEAVING 2005-2006 CUSTOMERS IN THE DUST. I SPOKE WITH THE TOYOTA DEALER IN CHANTILLY ON 8/17/12, AND HE SAID THAT THE TECHNICAL BULLETIN WAS ISSUED ONLY FOR TOYOTA MECHANICS' USE, AND THAT MY CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH I ONLY HAVE 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR. HE ALSO WANTED TO CHARGE ME WITH $130 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC INSTEAD, AND HE REPLACED THE A/C CONDENSER, CHARGING ME $556 FOR HIS SERVICE. HE ALSO SAID THERE WAS NO WAY TO PROTECT THIS CONDENSER SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. THE VEHICLE HAS VERY FEW MILES, AND TOYOTA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. AIR CONDITION - THE AIR CONDITION STOPPED WORKING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TRAVEL IN SUMMER WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONER WORKING IN THE CAR. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN INDICATING THAT THE A/C CONDENSER IS NOT PROPERLY PROTECTED; THE NUMBER FOR THIS REPORT IS AC002-06. IT COSTS $300 TO REPAIR THE A/C CONDENSER AND $300 IN LABOR FOR A TOTAL OF $600. APPRECIATE, IF TOYOTA CAN RECALL THE VEHICLE AND FIX THE AIR CONDITIONER PROBLEM.
ON AUGUST 6, 2008, I WAS DRIVING DOWN HWY 61 TO CLARKSDALE, MS WHEN MY ACCELERATOR STUCK; I TRIED USING THE BRAKES, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE AND I HIT A LARGE ANIMAL AND LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR. MY CAR FLIPPED OVER AND TURNED ON IT'S SIDE AND THEN LANDED BACK DOWN. I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED AND I WAS SCRAPED UP AND SHAKEN UP REALLY BAD. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY, BUT I SURVIVED THIS CRASH WITH ONLY MINOR SCRAPES AND BRUISES. I DIDN'T CALL THE POLICE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS DRIVEABLE AND THE ACCELERATOR WASN'T STICKING ANYMORE. THE SAME WEEK I TOOK THE CAR TO A TOYOTO DEALER TO CHECK OUT THE ACCELERATOR, AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. MY CAR RECEIVED OVER $1,300.00 WORTH OF DAMAGES AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH.
I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TURNING INTO MY DRIVE WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED AND RAN INTO THE APARTMENT BUILDING WALL. I HAVE A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD 50 MPH WHEN MY CAR WHEN MY CAR JUST STOPPED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP IN EL CAJON, CA. THEY REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE ON MY CAR. MY CAR NOW SHIFTS ODD AT DIFFERENT TIMES A HARD JERKING AND THEN IT SHIFTS NORMALLY AGAIN. ALSO AS SOON AS MY CARS COMPUTER MODULE WAS REPLACED THE CAR ALARM BEEPS AT 1:16 AM EVERY MORNING. I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE MY CAR IS NOT THE SAME. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THE ALARM WAS TOO SENSITIVE, AND THEY ADJUSTED IT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THESE PROBLEMS ARE EFFECTING MY TRANSMISSION. I ONLY HAVE 58,000 MILES ON THIS CAR, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY CAR. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WILL GO OUT AGAIN AND ME AND MY PASSENGERS WILL BE INJURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS NO ODOR IN THE AIR THAT COMES OUT OF THE VENTS, BUT FEELS THAT THE INFECTION MAY BE CAUSED BY THE AIR BEING SATURATED WITH CHEMICALS.
