criticalVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
CrashFiled: Mar 2026

While pulling out of a parking area, your car suddenly accelerated to high speed on its own. When you applied the brakes, they didn't work and your car continued at high speed, hitting another vehicle and then a large boulder. Your car hydroplaned, landed on its wheels, and continued moving until it finally shut down on its own. You were unable to stop the vehicle despite your braking efforts, resulting in a crash.

CrashFiled: Nov 2025

Your brake pedal failed to respond when you pressed it while pulling into your garage, causing your car to accelerate unexpectedly and crash into the wall. No warning lights appeared before this happened, and the dealer was unable to identify the cause. Toyota is sending a special inspector to examine your vehicle and review the electronic data recorder.

criticalVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Sep 2024

Your car's forward collision avoidance system activated emergency braking without warning while you were merging onto the interstate at 65 mph, even though no vehicles were directly in front of you. The brakes brought your car to a complete stop for about 2 minutes before the car restarted, which created a dangerous situation and nearly caused rear-end collisions. The dealer should diagnose whether the forward collision radar or sensors are malfunctioning and may need recalibration or replacement.

highVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Dec 2025

Your horn and cruise control buttons are positioned close together on the steering wheel, and honking the horn has accidentally triggered cruise control several times. This is dangerous because if you're trying to avoid a slow vehicle or accident, unexpected cruise control engagement could prevent you from controlling your speed. The issue may be that the button locations overlap or are too sensitive to accidental activation.
