Your 2024 Camry's engine can be turned off and the key removed while the vehicle is still in Drive, with no warning lights or alerts. This allows your car to roll away, which is a serious safety hazard. Toyota dealership says this is normal operation, but it may violate federal rollaway prevention standards that require the key to be locked in the transmission until it's in Park.

Your 2024 Camry's transmission started having problems around 92,000 miles, and the issues have gotten worse by 109,000 miles—which seems early for a vehicle this new. You're concerned about your safety because a transmission shouldn't need major work this soon. A transmission repair or rebuild may be necessary to resolve the underlying mechanical issues.

vehicle does not always respond when the gas pedal is pushed. the engine revs and rpms increase, but gears don't catch. merging onto highways, or making turns into traffic are terrifying as I'm not sure if the car will go.
