When you buckle your child into their car seat and tighten the straps, they don't stay locked in place — you can easily pull them back out by hand. This means the straps won't properly secure your child during driving or in a crash. The car seat buckle or harness system may need to be adjusted, replaced, or the car seat itself may need to be reinstalled or swapped out.
