You're concerned that your 2002 Subaru Outback might have airbags made by Takata, even though your car isn't on the official recall list. Since the Takata recall started in 2000 and the 2003 Outback is included, you want to verify whether your airbags are safe. You should contact Subaru directly with your vehicle identification number (VIN) to confirm the airbag manufacturer and whether any recalls apply to your specific car.
