ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2024 Forester vehicles. The engine water pipe may have loose attachment bolts, allowing the pipe to lose its seal and leak coolant.
Fix: Subarus independent distributor processing facilities will tighten the water pipe attachment bolts. The affected vehicles have not been delivered to dealers or sold to owners and therefore, no owner notification letters will be sent. Owners may contact Subaru's customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WRO-23.

After an oil change at your dealership, an oil leak was discovered on the right side of your engine, though the exact source couldn't be pinpointed. Based on online reports, this could be caused by valve cover or spark plug boot seals splitting and leaking oil. You're concerned that if oil contacts the exhaust manifold, it could potentially cause an engine compartment fire, and the dealership is repairing it under warranty. The fix will likely involve inspecting and replacing the leaking seals or gaskets on the valve cover and spark plug area.
