Owner Complaints (6)
Your vehicle's forward collision avoidance system failed to slow the car or prevent a collision when you attempted a right turn, and the airbags did not deploy on impact with a utility pole. The driver sustained a concussion, and there were no warning lights or known issues beforehand. A formal inspection is needed to determine why the safety systems did not activate as designed.

Your passenger airbag won't activate at 88 pounds of weight, even though it activates in other Subaru vehicles at that same weight. The dealership tested your car and found the airbag weight sensor is off by about 10 pounds. You've reported this to the dealership three times, and they've confirmed that Subaru is aware of the issue but currently has no fix available.

Your 2024 Subaru Forester's passenger-side front airbag may not be working properly. You noticed the airbag warning light was sometimes off when the seat was occupied, and sometimes on, suggesting the airbag system isn't responding consistently to whether someone is sitting in that seat. Your dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the issue. This needs to be checked because a non-functional airbag puts your passenger at serious risk in a crash.

Your front passenger airbag system is turning off when your wife sits in the front passenger seat, leaving her unprotected. The airbag indicator light shows the system is disabled, and this problem has existed since the car was brand new. This is a critical safety issue that needs immediate dealer inspection and repair to ensure the airbag system functions properly for front passenger protection.

The airbag does not go on all the time when my wife is in the passenger seat. My wife weighs approximately 100lbs. We have been at the dealer 2x's and they say that the airbag is working perfectly. I disagree with them very strongly. We have had multiple cars and do not have this problem. We just traded in a Buick encore gx and no problem with the airbag. Subaru claims there is nothing more they can do.
The passenger air bag remains off per the indicator when my 5'3" 100lb wife sits in the seat. The system was inspected at Peoria Subaru in Peoria, AZ and no problem was found. The service manager told me the factory design is 105 lbs minimum before the air bag is on. I find no warning labels in the vehicle and nothing in the owners manual referencing a 105 lb minimum. In fact, the manual states that a jug of water in the passenger's seat will turn the air bag indicator from off to on. If federal regulations require a minimum weight, there should be warning labels stating the minimum weight.
