2018 Ram 2500 Transmission Problems

The truck would not go above 40 MPH, then the transmission began slipping, slowing the truck down to 20 MPH. This happened while pulling my camper. This put us at risk of collision.

Hi, The ABS System shows Service Antilock Brake System at the display, It comes and go so I assume that it is an intermittent issue, it does stays for hours or days and go on ad off during the whole drive, definitely is an issue. It allow the brakes to preventing locket when brake on certain circumstances.

I purchased the truck used from Kunes dealership in Sterling Illinois with about 80k miles. It shifted harder than I was use to in low gears, right off the bat. I was advised everything was good with it at the oil changes and inspections.

Transmission Internal Failure engine revved up and vehicle did not move in the middle of an intersection while making a left turn on coming vehicle had to dangerously steer around our vehicle to avoid a collision.

ABS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS BEEN ON/OFF SINCE 2020. can't drive on snow ice due to traction control ABS 4-wheel drive doesn't work correct. I almost hit the divider/wall on Interstate 30 on 01/28/26 due from poor braking.

I was pulling my 5th wheel trailer up a steep hill, and my engine fan sucked in my fan shroud cut it into large chunks, they then flew into my radiator and punctured it resulting in loss of all engine coolant. Apparently this has been happening for quite some time with 4th gen ram trucks after searching on multiple internet forums. This in my opinion should be a recall.

Pulled out into traffic and the gas pedal did not propel the truck and I was almost hit broadside. It's like the gas pedal took 3-4 seconds to send fuel to the engine and caused the truck to just roll instead of propelling it down the road

New vehicle with 57 miles on odometer died while parked idling. Tried restarting vehicle, raw fuel running out of tail-pipe. Towed to i5 dodge for diagnosis.

The transmission is slipping and making clunking noises and I'm worried it fails while driving it could be a safety issue. I noticed other people online mention the same problem. This should be a manufacture recall to get repaired not a consumer.

While driving the truck seems to jolt when trying to get into the next gear or it seems to be slipping a gear. At times the truck will stay in a gear too long and not switch over in a timely manner or it it will switch gears too quickly. The dealership and another quote says it seems it could be the transmission valve plate and solenoid all the way up to a new transmission is needed.

If I hit a bump it sets off the lights for the ABS and the traction control and I have to run my truck with the traction control off if not my truck won’t shift right if I’m going 60 or above also had to get the transmission replaced

I purchased this truck new in 2018. I soon started having problems with very hard shifting and slamming into gear. It has been to the shop and diagnosed and continues to do it.

This truck has had two major REAR-END repairs. After the last one it vibrates. Several sets of tires and even a new set of rims and it still vibrates.

The issue with the Electronic Braking System and ABS has worsened. The two warning lamps are almost constantly on, or rapidly come on and go off rapidly. If I'm towing a trailer, all braking is lost momentarily - brake pedal to the floor - including the trailer brakes.

For the second time since the vehicle's purchase in 2019, the Antilock Braking System is flashing an intermittent error stating that the Antilock Braking System needs to be serviced. When the system flashes the error, the antilock brakes, cruise control, and stability control become disabled. The error sometimes will clear itself, and then immediately return a minute or two later.

When taking off initially with the truck sometimes within the first 30 seconds of moving there is two yellow lights that come on the dash, while the center text window displays service brake system. The stored MIL code is C0020-01. Also when going over bumps in the road the message will also return.

Loss of power/turbo. I was hauling a heavy load when I had a loss of turbo power on highway. Causing my truck to loose MPH up a hill and almost getting struck by a semi vdd into my trailer.

The ABS control pump motor is malfunctioning causing loss of the anti lock braking, four wheel drive, and cruise control. The dealerships have no ability to get parts to repair and they have been on back order indefinitely.

My vehicle has intermittent ABS/Traction Control/Service Anti-Lock Brake warnings. Upon trip to the dealership they notified me that I had codes for active wheel speed sensor and a stored Anti-lock Brake Module fault. Upon repair of the Wheel Speed Sensor, I had a reoccurring fault of the same and all ABS/Traction Control/ Service Anti-Lock Brake warnings and the same wheel speed sensor fault. They informed me that they could not order the ABS Pump Module as it was on engineering hold because of an investigation by NHTSA. Please make these people recall the ABS systems on these vehicles as when I look for information it is happening to hundreds if not thousands of trucks. My truck has 125,000 miles on it and has been WELL kept, and Mopar/FCA will not even sell us the parts to make our vehicles safe again. Currently due to the fault I have no cruise control, no four wheel drive, no parking sensors, and NO ABS OR TRACTION CONTROL. Seriously dangerous. Thank you.

Intermittent failure of ABS/hcu resulting in no ABS, cruise control, or traction control. Unable to find the part in question, dealers wanting nearly $2000 for repair on unacceptable timeline. Unable to haul significant loads with truck (I.e.

Our truck has less than 25000 miles on it and the transmission has been consistently slipping in high gears for about the last 3000 miles. Our friends had the same truck with 46000 miles and their transmission just failed. We have read about many instances with the same transmission going out prematurely.

I started my 2018 ram 2500 in the early morning and a message popped up in my message center ( service 4x4 system) . Usually it would not be a big deal because you should service your vehicle to keep up with maintenance , but I just bought the truck 10 months ago and it has 5000 miles on it. Have an appointment with dealer to find out the problem, 4x4 will not engage in the mean time.

unknown my brakes had a recall on it for the hydraulic system my transmission gave signs of going out while I was driving it would rev up and then would go when I would increase speeds

On the highway towing a horse and the transmission stopped working right. Couldn’t keep up to traffic only had one gear.

The gear shifter on my truck separated in two. This has been a past problem with this vehicle and was subject to a recall for all G56 equipped ram trucks from 2015-2016. However, the problem still occurs and the replacement part is just as faulty.

ABS not working for a year now. dodge has no parts to fix issue not safe to drive and should be a safety re-call on hydraulic control unit.

I revered my truck up a slight incline in reverse in 4 wheel drive. After I stopped in reverse I removed my vehicle out of 4 wheel drive back into 2 wheel drive. I put the transmission in park and removed my key.

The Service ABS light come on, around 32,390 miles just out of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty! The cruse control no longer works! The traction control light is on with the ABS light!

Transmission abrubtly shifts into 4th gear and will not shift up or down. Cannot manually shift either. Must pull over and shut off vehicle and restart.

The touch screen on the central control computer/entertainment/cell phone system has delaminates and randomly self selects buttons.
