Your tailgate unexpectedly opened while you were driving. You took your truck to the dealer, but they couldn't diagnose or fix the problem. While this issue is related to a known recall (Campaign 22V904000), your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in that recall. The fix will likely involve inspecting and repairing the tailgate latch mechanism to ensure it stays securely closed while driving.

Your 2020 Ram 1500's tailgate won't open, even though the truck was supposed to be fixed for this exact issue under a recall (Campaign 22V904000). The dealer looked at it but didn't diagnose or repair the problem, so the issue still exists. The tailgate release mechanism may need to be inspected, repaired, or replaced to restore proper function.

When its cold (below 30 degrees) the back 2 doors when opened will not re-close. I have taken the vehicle to Dodge and they haven't fixed the issue as the can't "replicate" the problem. I have multiple videos of this happening Today, I had to strap the back doors together to make it work on time And, when I research this on RAM forums... tons of other people having this same issue I have a video... but cant post to this message

Owner detected a foul odor inside vehicle. Upon investigation water was found in the rear floorboard and water stains across the headliner above the power rear sliding window. Further investigation online revealed that Fiat-Chrysler issued Technical Service Bulletin [XXX]\"Water Leaks At Sliding Backlite\" dated April 22, 2021 and [XXX] Rev B \"Water Leak Rear Of cab Rear Seat or Headliner\" dated June 2021. Owner called a local dealership and requested information regarding any recall related to RAM 1500 cab leaks, and was told that they were none. Dealership failed to advise owner that a know problem exists for these vehicles. \n\nOwner believes that a safety issue exists with water leaking into the 3rd brake light assembly resulting in failure of that safety component to operate correctly and cause a rearend collision. Further, owner believes that a safety issue exists with water leaking into the electrical system that operates the power sliding rear window resulting in a fire or electrical human contact electrical injury.\n\nThis issue has been confirmed by dealerships as they have attempted repairs for other owners. Additionally, Fiat-Chrysler's issuing Technical Service Bulletins for these problems indicates the manufacturer was aware of the issues.\n\nAt this time, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, dealership, police, or insurance representatives or others. However, owner will be initiating contact with one or all of these entities to confirm the problem.\n\nThere were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The vehicle was purchased new from a dealership in January of 2020 by owner. Symptoms were discovered by owner when a foul odor was noticed in the vehicle. Upon investigation water was found in the rear floorboard and water stains across the headliner above the power rear sliding window. My truck has had two leaks in the rear window area. I have owned it for 3 years it has 30000 miles on it. The vehicle is in otherwise perfect condition with no damage and no accidents. The first time it required the rear window to be replaced. This time it is uncertain where the leak is coming from. This could cause damage to the electronics as well as the rear airbags. It appears like these leaks are common and Ram is aware of them, but the have not recalled the defective components and provided a new design that does not leak.

Every time it rains it drips right where my break pedal is and makes is really slippery and completely floods the floor where the driver seat is. This is a safety issue if I am trying to break and the break is so slippery because water is constantly on the break pedal.

There is a problem with the way dodge/ram is doing recalls on the tailgate latches. They are only testing them out three times to see if they fail to attach. We have damage to the tailgate from a faulty latch and they said the latch passed the inspection and there is nothing wrong with it. Damage did occur while we was going down the road and the tailgate fell open but the striker is "fine" something happened!!! This is going to cause serious injuries and dodge/ram does not care. All they care about is the money not safety of the individuals. That check is useless as we all know sometimes things happen and it may no occur after the third but maybe the fourth or fifth. They will not even repair the damage the recall caused to my tailgate. But the tailgate is "fine"

Back in December and January when the weather was below 30 degrees the rear doors would not open on my truck. By the time I got to the dealer the doors warmed up enought to allow them to open, well In March we had another cold snap and my daughters left rear door did not latch all the way and opened when driving about 20 miles per hour. I have the truck at the shop today and they say they cannot find anything wrong with the truck. This only happends when the weather is cold enought to hard freeze. The sun visor both driver and passenger are defective. When driving any sudden bump in the road causes it to fall and impairs vision of the road. The sun visor is broken from the bracket which causes it to detach and fall from original place. When I spoke to dealer they informed me it was a common problem with Dodge Ram and Jeep models . However, they said since there has been no recall they refuse to fix the visor issue.

The tailgate intermittently opens on it's own while driving. This has happened approximately 6-10 times since I purchased the vehicle in November 2021 with 10k miles. One time it was noticed less than 1 mile from home as I was travelling under 45 mph. Other times it has been at higher speeds. I was only made aware of it happening when other cars were motioning to me while I was driving. I always firmly shut the tailgate and give it a pull to confirm it is latched. I have gotten in the habit of clicking on the backup camera after I have been driving a few minutes because there does not appear to be a warning light. Because I carry many tools in the bed for work, there is a safety risk to following vehicles (in addition to the cost of lost tools). Upon inspection I have noticed play in the right hinge. It appears to be missing a bushing on the right side that is in place on the left side (photos attached). Because I drive so much for work I didn't take it to the dealer until it had 41k miles on it. The service writer witnessed the play. A an appointment has been made for August 4, 2022 for service, but I was told that it will not be covered under warranty. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss.

THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT IN THE TRUCK IS LEAKING AND CAUSING WATER TO COME INSIDE THE CAB AND STAIN THE HEADLINER. WATER INSIDE THE CAB COULD CAUSE MOLD TO GROW AND CAUSE SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERNS. IT COULD ALSO CAUSE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS HAS BEEN A GRADUAL ISSUE OVER TIME AND HAS BEEN CONFIRMED LEAKING BY THE DEALERSHIP. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AS THE WATER LINE IS EVEN AROUND THE REAR AIRBAG AND COULD CAUSE A MALFUNCTION LEADING TO INJURY OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF A CRASH.

THE REAR FRAME AROUND THE REAR CAB WINDOW CRACKED AND IS LEAKING WATER. THIS IS ON A RAM 1500 THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WITH ONLY 5,500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE OWNED MY 2020 RAM 1500 CREW CAB 4X4 FOR 8 MONTHS. THE PLASTIC FRAME THAT SURROUNDS THE REAR WINDOW GLASS HAS CRACKED AND CAUSED THE WINDOW TO LEAK. THIS OCCURS BOTH WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION OR IS PARKED. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE WATER CAN SEEP INTO THE REAR AIRBAGS CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO MALFUNCTION. ALSO WITH A CRACK IN THE REAR GLASS FRAME THE GLASS MAY EXPLODE CAUSING HARM TO THE BACK SEAT PASSENGERS.
