2019 Ram 1500 Airbags Problems

I am the owner of a 2019 Ram 1500. An airbag deployment incident occurred and Stellantis initiated an investigation into the airbag system. During that investigation, Stellantis and/or its contractor Bosch extracted Event Data Recorder (EDR) crash data from the vehicle's airbag control module using Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) equipment.

The dash cover has separated from the main dash component. RAM cannot confirm this will not impede the proper deployment of safety airbags in case of a head on collision. This is more than a visual issue, it's a safety issue.

I as in an accident. a vehicle hit me while I was traveling at 50 MPH. my air bags did not depoly.

Airbag warning light is on no accident. It just came on no airbags have been deployed. There is a recall for similar.

Hit a very large cow early in the morning going about 40-45 mph. Not one single airbag deployed. There was no indication that they wouldn't work. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was contacted and informed about sending an inspector to assess the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Additionally, while driving 80 MPH, a semi-truck ran him off the road and crashed into a steel pole. The anti-lock brakes did not work. The occupants were wearing seatbelts. The airbags failed to deploy. The contact's face struck the front windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver hit the steering wheel. The contact and his daughter were taken to the hospital by ambulance, which provided medical attention. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven away. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined the vehicle was working as designed and the failure was a user error. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,800.

While driving my 2019 RAM 1500 on 12 September 2024 my airbag warning light came on. Shortly thereafter I took my pickup to the RAM dealership's service department to ID the problem. The service manager looked at the airbag warning light and told me that the restraint system works in unison with the seat belt restraint system.

I was driving a new truck I had purchased from a dodge dealer , I was rear-ended at highway speed, the truck lost control and went off road hitting a earthen burm head on, flipped and came to rest on the roof.

I was rear ended very hard, the car had to have been going at least 50 MPH and didn't brake. It lifted the rear wheels of my truck off the ground, and the airbag light came on but none of the airbags deployed. On 02/11/2024 my boyfriend and I were involved in a rear-end collision. The driver that hit us was going 60 to 70 MPH at the time of impact while we were sitting at a traffic light. The airbags did not deploy and now my boyfriend and I have sustained severe injuries due to the accident.

I was in a car accident going over 25 plus miles an hour and non of my airbags deployed in my truck. I had to get my neck reconstructed because it broke. I believe if airbags would deployed it could of helped with less injuries.

Dodge pickup was traveling south down the highway at 65 MPH and was met by an approaching semi pulling a fully loaded belly dump trailer also traveling at 65 MPH. When both vehicles were about to meet, the trailer unloaded all 46,000 pounds of large rock onto the highway.

I was in a full frontal collision at 45 MPH, the airbags did not deploy, and the seatbelt did not tighten or lock. I was thrown all over the truck and suffered several severe injuries, some of which may be permanent.

I was in a high speed rear end collision. We were at a red light and hit from behind approximately 45-50 MPH . The air bags did not deploy and the drivers seat belt failed to latch .

on January 1/23/2022 my vehicle was traveling at a speed of approx. 35mph in wintery conditions. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and slide into the road way, and my vehicles front end collided with the side of their vehicle.

Airbags did not deploy in an accident where my vehicle rear ended a vehicle.

My wife was in an accident where she hydroplaned, struck center barrier cables, went head on into a guardrail and was flipped 180 degrees and not a single airbag deployed.

I was in the left turn lane waiting to turn when I was struck by another car at about 40 MPH. His air bags were deployed but my airbags did not deploy. I was hit and had damage in the front center to the drivers side front clip, even my door was a little hard to open.

On 11/20/20 my ram truck was hit on the right front corner and totaled. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE WAITING FOR TRAFIC TO CLEAR TO PROCEED CROSSING THE STREET. WHEN AN ACCIDENT HAPPEN JUST IN FRONT, AND ONE OF THE CARS INVOLVED CRASH ON MY TRUCK. THE IMPACT MOVE THE TRUCK TOWARD THE SIDE WALK AND STOPING AT THE CURB.

THE VEHICLE THEN FLIPPED OVER ON ITS HEAD AND THE CAMPER FLIPPED OVER ON ITS LEFT SIDE. THE FRONT AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. FELLOW MOTORIST WHO WITNESSED THE ACCIDENT ASSISTED THE CONTACT AND BROKE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE GLASS AND REMOVED THE CONTACT AND HER FATHER FROM THE VEHICLE. THE AUTHORITIES ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER WERE TREATED BY THE PARAMEDICS AT THE SCENE BUT DID NOT GO TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. BOTH THE TRAILER AND THE VEHICLE WERE TOTALED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND AN INSPECTION ON THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN EDR REPORT FROM THE MANUFACTURER BUT NO STATEMENT WAS GIVEN AS TO WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,093.*DAD*DAD*JB*JB*LN *TR

This vehicle sustained a drivers side impact to the doors and the side airbags failed to deploy. The vehicle was traveling down the road and was struck by a box truck in the driver's door area. The driver was injured as a result of the airbags failing to deploy.

Wife was in a wreck on interstate where she bounced off a barricade and the other truck also 2019 ram struck her twice,no air bags deployed. No one from dodge called to check on her and the tow truck had to pull the cord so he could put it in neutral find hit hard to believe,no alarms or alerts.

I was in a major motor vehicle accident in where I fell asleep behind the wheel. As a result I swerved right, collided with 20-30 ft of guard rail and rolled at least 2 times. I don't remember a thing since I received a major concussion from slamming my head into the steering wheel at impact.

Since buying this truck (2019 ram 1500) purchase date 02/09/2019 my airbag light comes on I immediately took it back to the dealership napleton chrysler jeep dealership (855)517-8371 they kept my vehicle 3 week after I was told parts will be in 2-3 business days! Then 5 days later I was I was told parts are on back order without giving me a replacement vehicle.

In the car accident the air bags weren't activated.

In a collision and neither the airbags went off and seatbelts did not lock

I was driving the vehicle under ideal conditions and both sides curtain airbag deployed to include the seat airbags. The cabin became smoky, causing the vehicle to veer off the road due to no visibility. The vehicle when up and embankment and back down before coming to a complete stop.

After airbag deployment on my 2019 ram 1500 the engine did not shut off automatically. The truck accelerated after the deployment despite standing on the brakes. End result was truck impacted guard rail after the collision with the other vehicle multiple times before it shut down.

Driving down the highway, 60 MPH. Pick up ran in front of me . Totaled my pick up and airbags did not deploy.

2019 Ram limited 4x4 . Leather dash has bubble and shrinking exposing air bags . 5th gen trucks are having issues with this that Stelantis [ Ram] knows of.

Air bag light came on in the instrument panel. I took it to the dealership along with oil change. They scanned the airbag problem and it came back that the passenger front seatbelt had open circuit.

Ive had the truck for 3 months and airbag light came on. Had it diagnosed to find it has a bad sensor in the seatbelt pretensioner that is stopping the passenger airbag from deploying and the seatbelt from locking. This is a major problem and should be a recall as I had it fixed and paid almost $600 to have replaced.

I started my truck up one morning and the airbag system light came on. Took it to the dealership and they reported fault code B007F-13 and recommended immediately replacing faulty passenger seatbelt retractor. For some reason my truck was not included in safety recall W67. Dealership quoted out-of-pocket fix was $800. I drove around for several months with the airbag light on because I could not afford to fix. Dealership is finally fixing today. They are applying the same fix they have made to other 2019 Dodge Ram trucks in the recall group. This is a major safety issue and negligence to not include all vehicles affected by this malfunction. My truck should have been included in the recall if it is getting the exact same safety recall fix as other models in the same year.

Dashboard leather has completely delaminated. High bubbling and excess material causing poor viability and obstruction. Ram will not repair.

“Service air bag” warning illuminated. Took car to dealer for service. Told by service agent that light was on due to low battery voltage.

Unsure to what's causing the issue, dealership will look at it but feel it is a customer issue not a truck issue however among further investigation this seems to be a common issue amongst these model trucks, I have spoken with other people who have experience the same issues as well as researched it online where many people have also experienced the issue.

The safety warning light came on when starting the vehicle. We checked the owners manual and called the dealership to schedule an appointment. Advised of the recall by NHTSA they said no recall under our VIN.

Back glass has crack in frame around sliding glass window. Water is leaking into the truck from crack and causing back seat, carpet, ceiling liner and airbags in the ceiling liner to get wet.

about half a year ago, I noticed the seat belt didn't retract properly, and on occasion, it would lock me into the seat preventing me from moving even though there was no reason for the belt to lock.

On 2-23-21 my service airbag system light, service antilock brake system light, service electronic stability control light, ABS light came on and cruise control stopped working on my 2019 ram 1500. Vehicle was pruchased from waldorf dodge (06/12/20190 with two (2) open recalls, v07 & v71. As the customer, I found out about the recalls on my own (including one that had been known of since feb 2019) and had to contact the dealership (who ignored the warning about the recalls during the sale and failed to tell me, the customer) to fix this issue.

I was driving down the road on my way home from work. And without warning the airbags in both front seats and both front seat belts and the top one close or inside the roof all went off at the same time. Causing me to almost wreak my truck.

Why is service airbag not a safety recall a simple internet search of this on ram trucks shows that it should. Really ask why service air bag is not a recall.

Driving off a small curb, and the 2 front airbags went off along with the seatbelt lock.
