Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Nissan Versa sedan vehicles manufactured June 9, 2011, to March 11, 2015, and 2014-2015 Nissan Versa Note vehicles manufactured April 23, 2013, to March 11, 2015. The affected vehicles have a center console trim panel that may catch the driver's shoe and delay the transition from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal.
Risk: A delay in the application of the brake pedal would lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the console trim panel, free of charge. The recall began on September 14, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Your CVT transmission failed suddenly at 130,000 miles and now struggles to shift into the correct gear, often selecting random gears that cause additional damage. The transmission cannot be repaired and requires complete replacement at a cost of around $3,500 plus labor. This type of failure has been reported in other Nissan models with the same transmission, suggesting a potential design issue.

Your CVT transmission is slipping and jerking, and it sometimes won't move when you stop at a traffic light until you turn the ignition off and back on again. This causes you to hold up traffic for about 30 seconds at each stop, which creates a safety hazard for you and other drivers. Your Nissan dealership has diagnosed the issue as low transmission fluid pressure and a faulty pressure control solenoid. The fix will likely involve replacing the transmission fluid, solenoid, or potentially rebuilding the CVT transmission itself.

Your CVT transmission may not respond quickly enough when you need to change gears, especially when merging onto the highway. This delayed response could make acceleration feel sluggish or unresponsive when you need it. Your transmission fluid, filter, and solenoid components may need inspection or replacement to restore proper gear engagement.

Your 2014 Nissan Versa Note makes a noticeable noise when the engine runs between 1500-2000 RPM, which a mechanic indicated is a known issue with the CVT transmission. The mechanic warned that the transmission could fail suddenly without warning, which could compromise vehicle safety. Addressing this issue would likely require a complete transmission replacement.

Your exhaust heat shields, which protect your gas tank from excessive heat, may tear at the bolts and create a rattling sound. As the damage worsens, cracks develop in the thin metal shields, potentially leaving your gas tank inadequately protected from exhaust heat. The manufacturer may need to replace the heat shields with a more durable design or reinforce the bolt attachment points.

Air Bags →2 issues
Your airbags failed to deploy during a serious accident, even though your phone's crash detection immediately recognized the impact. This is a critical safety concern, as airbags are designed to protect you during collisions like the one you experienced. The issue likely involves a problem with the airbag system's sensors, wiring, or deployment mechanism that needs professional diagnostic testing.

You were hit on the passenger side at 33 mph, but none of your airbags deployed during the crash. You sustained serious injuries as a result. The vehicle was brand new from the manufacturer when you bought it, with no prior accidents or warning lights, making the airbag failure unexpected and dangerous. This issue likely requires a complete airbag system diagnostic and replacement of failed airbag modules.

Power Train,electrical System,service Brakes →1 issue
Your car stalls without warning while driving, especially after rain, forcing you to pull over. The dealership found water leaking into the brake light wiring harness, which blows the #49 fuse under the hood — this same fuse controls your transmission. Even after replacing the wiring harness, the problem recurs when it rains. The fix likely requires finding and sealing the source of water infiltration into the wiring system, possibly involving replacement of weatherstripping, connectors, or additional harness routing.

Steering,power Train →1 issue
Your Nissan Versa Note has two major issues. The transmission isn't shifting properly and is revving to high RPMs, with repair estimates around $7,000. Additionally, the steering gear has failed and makes a clicking noise when you turn—your mechanic advised against driving the car due to safety concerns, with repairs estimated at $1,100. Both issues will likely require professional transmission and steering gear replacement or rebuild.
