Your brake booster failed twice within 1,300 miles — first at 38,349 miles with a loud boom and insulation falling, then again at 39,630 miles. The second dealership found oil in your brake fluid but couldn't explain why. Before the first failure, you noticed your brake pedal was stiff when starting the car, and this stiffness has continued even after the replacement. The repeated failures in such a short time suggest an underlying issue that may need further investigation beyond just replacing the booster component.

While your car was idling in the driveway, you pressed the brake pedal and heard an extremely loud explosion that was heard across multiple towns. Insulation was hanging from the undercarriage of your car. The Nissan dealership confirmed that your brake booster exploded, which they said they had never encountered before. The dealership is still diagnosing the issue, and this could potentially affect your ability to brake safely if it had occurred while driving on a highway.

Parking brake fails to engage the first few times and when attempting to engage it the rpms rev high. System seems confused and thinks it’s still driving hence the difficulty for the brake to be applied (mostly on an incline). In other instances the parking brake disengages on its own after the vehicle is turned off. Something isn’t right. Dealership can’t duplicate because no incline exists.
