Owner Complaints (11)
Your 2009 Sentra is covered by an active airbag recall, but when tested, the recall issue didn't show up. However, your airbag warning light has started blinking on its own with no accidents or incidents that could have triggered it. This suggests a separate electrical or sensor problem with your airbag system that needs diagnosis. You'll likely need a technician to scan your airbag control module for fault codes and replace any faulty sensors or wiring.

Your airbag warning light turned on while you were braking at a red light, even though your car hasn't been in a crash, fire, or flood. You believe this is a manufacturer defect in the airbag module rather than a maintenance issue. The airbag system will need to be diagnosed and the module may need to be replaced or repaired by a dealer.

Your airbag warning light blinks when you start the car. Two dealerships have told you the problem is a faulty clock spring (a component in your steering wheel), which controls both the driver and passenger airbags. They've warned you that if you were in a crash, neither airbag might deploy, making the car unsafe to drive. Fixing this will require replacing the clock spring component in your steering wheel.

Your airbag warning light flashes continuously on your dashboard. This indicates a problem with your airbag system that needs to be diagnosed. A technician will need to scan your vehicle's computer to identify the specific fault and determine what component needs repair or replacement.

Your airbag warning light started flashing on your dashboard. Nissan has issued technical service bulletins about this issue, but hasn't issued a recall. The problem wasn't diagnosed by a dealer, so the exact cause wasn't confirmed. A dealer inspection and diagnosis will be needed to identify what's triggering the warning light and determine if the airbags need repair or replacement.
