Your rear window suddenly shattered while driving at 60 mph on a clear, sunny day after recent rain and snow, with no trees or other vehicles nearby that could have caused impact. The window remained mostly intact initially but began falling apart, forcing you to tape it temporarily with duct tape and plastic for the drive home. The rear window glass may need to be replaced, which typically involves removing the damaged glass and installing a new rear window assembly.

Your backup camera and 360-degree camera display have gone blank twice, most recently in March 2026, and wouldn't turn on even when shifting into Reverse or pressing the camera button on the dashboard. After turning off the car for a couple hours and restarting it, the cameras worked again. The Nissan dealer couldn't reproduce the problem during testing and confirmed there's no recall for your vehicle. The issue appears to be intermittent and likely involves the camera system's electrical connection or the infotainment display module.

Your rear liftgate window shattered while your car was parked, with no apparent cause. Broken glass remains stuck inside the liftgate frame and occasionally prevents the liftgate from opening properly. The repair will likely involve removing the damaged glass, cleaning out remaining debris, and installing a new rear liftgate window.

While your car was parked and stopped at a restaurant drive-thru, the rear window suddenly shattered without any impact or outside force. A witness confirmed seeing the window explode on its own. The weather was mild (mid-40s) and rainy, and while the rear defrost and wiper had been used 15-30 minutes earlier, they were off at the time of the incident. The window may need to be replaced due to spontaneous glass failure.

I turned on my Nissan Rogue 2024. The moment I hit this on button I heard a loud bang and my back windshield had completely shattered. I immediately called the dealership I bought it from Beau Townsend Nissan because I knew I had paid for security plus gold preferred and Ultimate Platinum Protection and wanted to know what to do. The dealership gave me the number to customer care, then customer care said it’s not covered under extended warranty and gave me another number, and after talking to various people I ended up back with the dealership begging for help. They said oh it definitely would not be covered. This incident posed risks as there was no warning anything would happen. Much of the glass shattered into the trunk in small crevices and I have children. The glass sprayed across the driveway where it can get in tired if a shard is missed. I had to leave my car with a huge hole outside in my neighborhood where there has been convicted theft.

The back window randomly exploded while I was taking my children to school and there are MULTIPLE complaints of the same issue but NISSAN hasn’t issued a recall yet. My children could have been cut or injured yet I am somehow responsible for a window exploding on its own all because I used the defoggers. That is not safe AT ALL.

[XXX]- I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue. My car was parked in my garage. Once I pushed the button to start, the back window exploded! Broken glass everywhere. I was the only one in the car. My car has a little over 18,000 miles, and I cannot afford to get it fixed. I have insurance with a $1,000 deductible. I spoke with a dealership in Auburn, Alabama (this is where I live). I emailed pictures, and I am presently waiting for a reply. I have requested that Nissan fix this issue free of charge. We have colder weather, so we had normal ice and snow on the vehicle. I walked the backside of the vehicle to the driver side. I entered on the drivers side. I started the car and turned on the defrost, I then heard the cracking, which I assumed to be the ice. When I shut the driver door the back rear window shattered.

My rear window exploded while parked and powered off. Absolutely NOTHING hit it in any way. I was just reaching for the handle to get out of the car when it happened. Please note I’ve only owned this vehicle for two weeks now. This happened one week after purchase. Warranty did not cover rear glass. I paid out of pocket for replacement. (I have receipts) I have found that in the 2 weeks of owning this vehicle that this has happened to MANY Nissan Rogue owners.

UNKNOWN There are two issues. First one: After using the defrost, the rear window will shatter after the air pressure is change, opening the driver's side door to get in,the back glass shattered it. Second one: The technician informed me that on the nissian rogue, there is a gap in the back door panel that glass falls into making it nonexistent to retrieve all the glass, complicating the locking mechanism. I can hear pieces inside that door when opening it.

Insurance company made an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow morning. No inspections. No warnings. Going to cost me $400.00. Car is available for inspection anytime. Very frustrating. Car is 16 months old.

It was a cold morning and we defrosted our windows before leaving the house. We had been driving for about 2 hrs. We stopped and while in the car sitting with it parked, idling and with the heat on, there was a loud explosion sound and the back windshield blew out on its own on the passenger side! It flew outward behind the vehicle. It was like pressure came from within the vehicle and pushed it out? The whole back windshield started crackling for a long time and bubbling. This was very Scary when it happened! If someone or another vehicle was behind ours this could of been very dangerous or even worse if we were driving at the time and it caused an accident! I googled Rogue rear window exploding on its own and this has happened to others!!

I rented a 2024 Nissan Rouge from Enterprise. When it was picked up the only noticeable damage was on the driver side back wheel well where the trim piece appeared to be loose and there was a scuff on the finish. On [XXX] around [XXX] a business peer and I were just leaving Rosen Supply in Woodinville, WA. We were in the 2 front seats; car had not yet been turned on, and we were discussing our next business stop. While adding in the address to our phone GPS the back window imploded with no warnings, leaving 2 holes on the side of the window (have photos). In the moment we thought we had been shot at or someone had thrown a rock at the car. No one was around. Then a second implosion happened, and it shot glass out about 3 feet from the car into the parking lot and into the back of the car. This is when all of the glass fell out. Two people from inside of the building heard the explosions and came out to help us. They provided tools to clean up the glass in the parking lot. This was a very traumatic event and caused my peer to have heart palpitations and other concerns. Had I known this was something that could happen I would have chosen a different vehicle to rent. Smell of gas in the cabin area of SUV. Also, my garage is attached to the house & I can smell this in my house. Other people have smelled this, so I am not the only one. I brought my SUV to dealership, but they could not find anything going on. Are aware of these problems, but no fix. My vehicle is 7 months old & I am very disappointed in Nissan. I had a 14 year old Nissan Rogue before this & no problems with a gas smell. Nissan… you have to do better. This will be my last Nissan purchase if this isn’t resolved. And will voice my opinion to others. Thank you!

Upon starting the vehicle, there is a distinct gas smell that fills the cabin. It goes away after awhile driving, but happens again when the car has been turned off and started again. This comes through the air vents in the cabin. The outside of the car, from under the hood, also smells of gas when parked. The car cannot be parked inside a garage, or the entire garage smells of gas.

The monitor and camera system does not always come on. The gps doesn’t work and if you try to backup there is no indication someone is behind you because the cameras are inoperable. This is definitely a safety issue. I have taken the vehicle to 2 service centers and it is still not fixed. As a matter of fact the issue happened before we drove it off the lot and we were told there was nothing wrong with the system
