2015 Nissan Pathfinder Transmission Problems

I bought a vehicle from Woods Nissan in Lees Summit, MO, on [XXX], and in a week I went back for details, and the car would not start. They checked and claimed nothing was wrong, and I took their word for it. I took the car to KC Auto Clinic in Independence, MO, and they found it was the judder system, which they said was an issue they were seeing in many Nissan vehicles.

I was driving on a busy highway and when I went to accelerate after slowing down in traffic my pathfinder started to shake and shudder and would not accelerate forward. I not only almost got rear ended but I almost got into a head on collision because I was at an intersection. The car just lost all power all of a sudden.

It begins shaking, jolting and shuddering while driving; started off happening at take off; then progressed to anytime speed was under 35mph; now, it does it often throughout all speeds. Nissan states it needs a new transmission which was quoted to cost $6,600+tax. The vehicle trade-in value is only $5,000ish prior to these symptoms.

Intermittently there is low power when accelerating and the brake lights remain on. If there is low power when accelerating from a stopped position going into traffic, this could lead to injury or death of persons in the car as other vehicles could run into them.

2015 pathfinder will intermittently not accelerate while driving. Occurs mostly after being at a stop. Has also occurred while in motion in a 35 MPH zone.

On my way to the emissions test site, I was approaching an intersection that was controlled by a stop sign. As I approached this stop sign, I applied the brakes. My vehicle kept traveling into the intersection.

After using brakes either at a stop light or while driving, when I reapply the gas pedal nothing happens. The rpms stay at idle and the vehicle barely moves. Problem intermittent and unpredictable.

Break lights will stay on even if the car is parked. It will stay on while driving. When this happens I have to disconnect the battery for the break lights to go off.

My CVT transmission is so loud that I was almost t boned by a fire truck because I could not hear the sirens. Please help!

While driving my pathfinder on major highways and roads, I would be merging into traffic, turning onto a road and just trying to accelerate. The vehicle often loses all power and decelerates. I have placed the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and yet have no power.

Transmission when pressing on the gas happens anytime at any speed, the whole car shakes and the vehicle doesn't want to speed up. I just purchased this SUV used with 84000 mile within 24 hr the car starts to drive like I am running over speed bump like it's not pulling or something kind of hard to explain the gauges bounce back and forth when it happens it's trying to pick up speed but stalling it's clearly the CVT issue it happened on the highway and just riding through town it felt like it was losing power not wanting to the same speed I was at

Since the 1st day of purchasing this vehicle I was experiencing issues with transmission like hesitation, jerking / shuddering / shaking and abnormal whining noise while driving at low speeds. I was not aware about nissan's major CVT issues until recently.

Since the purchase of the vehicle, my nissan pathfinder has failed to accelerate either at a stop or during normal speed. The engine would not stall, but would only accelerate almost at idle speed.

When accelerating from a stop, at low speeds, the vehicle stutters/judders for a few seconds. It has been progressively getting worse, even starting to show up at medium speeds, to the point where we think the vehicle is going to stall. If you push on the gas it eventually goes throught the stuttering.

We bought this Nissan Pathfinder SV model with 4-wheel drive brand new in 2015. This model supposed to have had an upgraded Continuously Variable transmission (CVT). It is meticulously maintained.

Another repair shop indicated they are seeing failed CVT transmissions on many 2015 Pathfinders and Nissan models which appears to be a manufacturers defect.

As you are driving the car looses power, it happens randomly when driving, turning corners , going up hills have to pump the gas to make it go also have to put the gas pedal to the floor going up hill and at times on straight road.the dealer scanned it was the CVT transmission.

Vehicle will not accelerate when stopped at light, stop sign, switching from reverse to drive intermittently. This happens when it wants to. The brake light switch was replaced a couple weeks ago when the brake lights were noticed to not shut off and vehicle would turn on without pressing the brake pedal.

I had my transmission flushed at approx. 52k miles on 2/23/2019. In april 2019, the transmission begin having issues.

When accelerating and maintains normal commuter speeds 34-70mph the transmission is loud and in instances jerks as if it is not catching the next gear. My car is 4yrs old with 77k miles and there shouldn't be a need for a new transmission, which local nissan dealer says I need. Review have shown this in the past so I want to make aware that the problem is not fixed.

Have had vehicle in three times for shuddering and jerking, now that it's out of warranty they say it's the rear end. It was same complaint 1st and 2nd time, but now want me to pay out of pocket that is obvious by this website is a major problem with 2015 pathfinders. I am on phone calling corporate.

Cooling fan vibration noise in driving and stationary mode.

Cooling fan-after turning on the vehicle and the a/c a knocking and rattling noise came from the engine. When I took it in, the dealership said it is a "warped cooling fan" and that if it breaks completely will not cool the engine and will cause the engine to fail as well. The vehicle is a 2015 with 54,000 miles on it.

When driving and pushing the gas the car will not go, it seems it gets stuck and the car just doesnt move, after pushing the gas hard a few times and sitting in the middle of traffic the car then goes. This has happened so many times. Have taken it to the nissan dealer and they say they fixed it by replacing a part.

2015 nissan pathfinder sometimes will not go when the gas pedal is pressed from a stopped position. 3 different times this has happened to me and my wife. This is an extremely dangerous situation.

Warning light appeared - dealer indicated needed new transmission under warranty has been with dealer for seven working days and they are having difficulty repairing the issue dealer indicated other pathfinders have same problem. Light appeared when I turned on vehicle -

While taking off from 0-20mph the car will hesitate and jerk. Took the vehicle to nissan service dept. Back in may 2016 and they could not find nothing wrong with car.

Judder is found between 20-25 miles for more than 5 second when accelerating smoothly. The mechanic recorded the judder and sent it to the engineer. The engineer at corporate nissan told us that it is a normal thing but any car shouldn't have a judder(especially 2015 newest model).

CVT transmission shudders at low speed (20-40 MPH) with light throttle application. This problem has been experienced since we purchased the vehicle on 9/10/2015

Potentially faulty brake system or downshift CVT or simulated gearshift system. Details: when driving in slow moving traffic with the brakes partially applied, the vehicle tends to momentarily accelerate and speed up. Concurrently the resistance on the brake pedal tends to decrease, along with a visible down-and-then-back-up jumping of RPM needle.

I was driving vehicle and was at light to enter freeway went to accelerate and nothing happened but car would rev normal in park pulled over in traffic and almost got in a wreck with family in side is very unsafe

Car stuffers at low speeds and looses power when shifting from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 at times.

My car has less than 28000 miles and I had to have a new transmission.

This vehicle jerks and stutters at low speeds, like the transmission doesn't know what to do and also doesn't always shift into the gear it should be in. I can also feel that the car seems faintly jittery at highway speeds, even on new pavement.

I have a 2015 nissan pathfinder starting at 64000 miles I have taken the car in several times due to the heating and cooling system. Lately I have been having problems when I press on the accelerator the car doesn't want to go. In addition, it seems to hydroplane and jerk if the road is wet and you go over 40 miles per hour.

Pathfinder recal. Car "shutters" and "stutters" when transitioning in between gears. Additionally, while in drive, entering a freeway on ramp, moving at approximately 30 MPH, the car wouldn't accelerate, it was as if it was in neutral.

Vehicle will not accelerate (no throttle response) randomly and without warning. Rpms do not budge despite pedal being to the floor. Problem seems to be more common when the steering wheel is turned.

In the last several weeks, I am experiencing loss of acceleration for my nissan pathfinder 2015 (33,000 miles). For some reasons, there is no acceleration nor RPM increased when I floored the gas pedal for several seconds after releasing the gas pedal (coasting) due to traffic stops or want to make a turn or after full stop. The car was coasting around 20 MPH and didn't accelerate.

The AC and heat fan makes loud sounds started in summer 2017. It's so loud that I have to turn it completely off now.

Unsafe condition, this is the design of the vehicle! Nissan will not take any action. Disregarding complaint with the bbb.

While towing under the capacity of the vehicle tow specification, the vehicle dropped out of cruise control (set at 65 MPH). This caused an unexpected slowdown of almost 20 MPH and my family and I feared getting hit at that speed (45 in a 65 when people are driving at 75 or more). Nissan technicians witnessed this happen.

When starting from stop ( at a stop sign or traffic light) the vehicle periodically will not accelerate. The vehicle has been in the shop two times now with no change. The first time it was in they did a software update and thought that would correct it, it did not.
