2019 Kia Sorento Engine Problems

Your 2019 Sorento developed an oil leak that worsened even after the dealer replaced the oil gasket. While driving, your engine shuddered and stalled, and warning lights for transmission and low oil pressure came on. A mechanic diagnosed cylinder #3 failure and determined your entire engine block needed replacement. The problem occurred at around 120,000 miles.

On Saturday February 7th, while driving home, the vehicle suddenly caught fire without any warning. Within moments, the fire intensified, and I was forced to jump out of the vehicle to save my life. Shortly afterward, the vehicle exploded.

My engine was replaced and the fuel line was reported "mangled" by Kia of Coatesville where I took my car in after an engine replacement. One in which emissions codes were still going off. The car still smelled like fuel and it was then found that the fuel pump was leaking.

I bought this KIA used, one owner from a dealership 4 months ago. It had only 71000 miles on it. Since day one, we noticed it hesitates to get out of 1st gear into second.

Loud engine rattle noise when starting engine that has been shut off overnight.sounds like the camshaft chain hydraulic tensioner is bleeding down.tensioner does not maintain a correct initial position.noise diminishes within a minute or so of stationary engine run.

Leased the car in march and by end of may it was ideling rough and clicking. Got a message on my screen engine control system failure and a check engine light came on. Took it onto the dealer and with less than 2900 miles it needs a new engine.

It need to fill the oil ever two to three weeks - oil consumption? Now this morning it has the a lot of oil in the ground - I won’t drive the car

2019 with 56,000 miles and the oil pressure sensor AND the fuel pump need replacing. Both items should be considered part of the powertrain but of course they’re not. Called corporate but got the “there is no recall” monologue from their representatives.

There is almost no engine oil in the engine room. This phenomenon does not happen once, but continuously.

Excessive oil burning Burns an insane amount of oil every week, 2-3 quarts of oil has to be added every week. Started noticing slightly low oil a year ago wasn’t a lot but it has gotten worse.

I started burning oil faster than my oil changes were due. One of the techs told me he had seen far too many Kias with this known issue. My Checked engine light came on a couple months after.

The engine blew up. I have all of my oil change receipts and gave them to West Herr Kia, and per Kia West Herr, Kia denied covering the blown engine because the piston went through the engine with great force. This happened at approximately 110,000 miles.

Engined failed in the middle of the highway at 100,800 miles. Engine has had horrible oil consumption issues for a long time, despite regular oil changes and checking the oil levels. KIA already has a 150k class action settlement for engine failure due to connecting rod bearing failure, but have denied warranty and wanted out of pocket $7600 for full engine replacement.

While driving on a highway my engine failed causing me to have to pull over into the shoulder. I was told there was a defect in oil consumption.

As I was driving on the road, the engine suddenly died. Tried to restart a couple of times without success. When I tried 3rd time, the engine started.

The Kia burns oil quickly. The oil light used to come in between oil changes. Last oil change the service station said the dip stick was dry but the oil light hadn’t come on at all.

I have a fuel consumption problem and have read/heard of other Kia owners that are having the same problem.

Engine stutters and jerks upon acceleration. Happens in every driving mode (Comfort / Eco / Smart / Sport). This has been a persistent safety issue, and judging by the number of similar complaints, a speedy resolution is needed.

When taking off, it spits and sputters and the rpms go down to zero as pulling out in the highway. Safety issue! This has been an ongoing issue have had it in the shop 3 times

My sorrento started to ride very rough and felt like engine was knocking and mthe vehicle would start to shake. I pulled over turn vehicle off checked all my levels everything was ok except low washer fluid. Proceeded home no problem.

When pulling out or starting out the car hesitates making it very unsafe when pulling out in traffic. I have reported it to the kia service center, but they could not find anything wrong with it. It is very frustrating and unsafe.
