Owner Complaints (39)
Your Wrangler is hard to stop, and your traction control and cruise control don't work. Your parking brake, traction control, and ABS warning lights are all on. A mechanic found that your ABS control module has failed, which is preventing these systems from working properly. The fix will likely involve replacing or repairing the ABS control module.

Your ABS control module has been on backorder since May 2025 through your Jeep dealership, and this part is only available directly from MOPAR with no third-party options. While waiting for this part, your vehicle's ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Descent Assist, and cruise control are all disabled, which reduces braking safety especially in wet or winter conditions. The dealership has repeatedly delayed the expected delivery date, and Stellantis reports the part is under engineering review with no confirmed release date.

Your ABS module failed, causing your Jeep to shake violently on the freeway and creating a serious risk that your brakes could lock up unexpectedly. When the module failed, your ABS, brake, and traction control warning lights all came on at once. The dealer confirmed that replacement parts are on indefinite backorder from Stellantis/Mopar, and even rebuilt modules aren't available, leaving your vehicle unsafe to drive for over a year with no solution in sight. Fixing this will require replacing or rebuilding the ABS module, but parts are currently unavailable.

Your ABS module has failed, which means your anti-lock brakes, cruise control, and traction control no longer work. Jeep doesn't currently have replacement modules in stock or a timeline for fixing this issue. Without these safety features, your Jeep is operating with outdated braking technology, and there's a risk it could enter limp mode, which would prevent you from driving. The fix will require replacing the ABS module once Jeep has them available.

Your Jeep's ABS (anti-lock brake) module has failed, causing both the ABS and brake warning lights to stay on continuously. This is a known issue affecting multiple 2014 Wranglers, and the replacement module (part number 68145835AE) is on national backorder with extended delays. The underlying cause appears to be a failed chip within the module that is no longer available.

Your brake warning lights came on, and your Jeep dealer identified a faulty AntiLock Brake module as the cause. The part has been on backorder for about 5 months, and despite the manufacturer showing it as available online, neither the dealer nor Chrysler has been able to supply it for your vehicle. You're concerned that driving with this defective module could eventually lead to brake failure and an accident. Fixing this issue will require replacing the AntiLock Brake module once it becomes available from the manufacturer.

Your ABS pump (which helps prevent wheel lock-up on slippery surfaces) is faulty and may not function properly on icy or wet roads. The replacement part has been unavailable for an extended period, making safe braking difficult in bad weather conditions. Fixing this will require replacing the ABS pump assembly.

Your vehicle's ABS (anti-lock braking) system warning light came on while driving, along with your seat belt and parking brake warning lights. A mechanic determined that your ABS module had failed and needs to be replaced, but the part was on backorder at the time. Fixing this will require replacing the ABS control module.

Your ABS (anti-lock brake) module has been identified as faulty and is causing your Jeep to enter a reduced-power "limp" mode that prevents normal acceleration, especially when trying to merge into traffic. A replacement module has been ordered but is on backorder with a long wait time due to multiple owners experiencing the same issue. While the vehicle is still drivable, the acceleration limitation creates a safety concern in traffic situations. The fix will require replacing the ABS module once it becomes available.

Your ABS (anti-lock brake) warning light has been on continuously since 2022, and you haven't been able to drive your Jeep because replacement parts aren't available from MOPAR or other suppliers. Multiple mechanics have been unable to fix the problem due to the lack of available parts. The fix will require sourcing and installing a replacement ABS module or control unit once parts become available.

The ABS module on my vehicle is faulty. Jeep is no longer manufacturing the part needed for repair. My vehicle is drivable but no longer has ABS. This is affecting a very large number of Jeep wranglers and stallantis / Jeep refuses to make a replacement part available or issue a recall.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact's vehicle was rear-ended. The contact's wife, who was the other occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The contact's wife sustained a dislocated left hip. In addition, the contact's wife had previously had a left hip replacement and undergone four left hip surgeries. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. A police report was filed; however the information was unavailable. The contact stated that three months after the vehicle was purchased, the ABS, traction control, and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS module. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on back order. The contact stated that the order was placed almost thirteen months ago. The contact stated that the vehicle was almost rear-ended two times recently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Intermittent indicator lights for ABS, eBrake, and Traction control. Code is indicating an issue with the ABS Control Module. Dealer is saying that parts have been on back-order for years. This appears to be a very common issue with this Jeep style. I'm very surprised there has not been a recall on this yet!!
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle while coming to a stop. The contact stated that while attempting to continue driving, the vehicle struggled to respond, because the wheels had seized. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with the ABS sensors and ABS control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
The ABS system failed at about 50,000 miles while the vehicle was still under extended warranty. The system needs a new ABS module which Jeep says is under engineering review. I have been trying to get the part for almost 2 years with no success. I am left with an unsafe vehicle that I am unable to sell.
I took my Jeep in to be serviced by my mechanic due to the ABS, brake and traction control lights being on. The issue is the ABS module is faulty. I was told I could drive it but use caution in rain and ice. I was also told by my mechanic he had another customer with the same issue and it took the customer several months to find the part. Now, I need to begin the hunt for a dealership that has an ABS module and be charged about $2000 including labor costs. Why is this happening to the ABS modules? Is the ABS module faulty to begin with? My Jeep has about 62,300 miles on it. Why am I having to replace a part that should last the life of the vehicle? Yes, many years ago vehicles did not have ABS. Now, modern vehicles do. When the ABS module fails it can cause too many issues for the vehicle plus it’s not only putting the occupants of the vehicle in danger but also others on the road. So then why are so many Jeep owners having to replace the ABS module when it should be a long-lasting component?
ABS Module failure resulting in abs and traction control systems not functioning properly putting myself and others at risk for injury. There is no replacement part available and Mopar indicates there is no current production for a replacement part. This is a well known problem that the manufacturer has failed to provide a safe solution for.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the ABS, traction control, and brake warning lights all appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic where a code reader determined that there was a defect with the ABS module. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test where the brake calipers were replaced; however, the warning light remained illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer later confirmed that the ABS module was defective; however, the part for the repair was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
I have been unable to get an ABS Control Module for my jeep for over a year. This is affecting my vehicle breaking system putting my life in danger as well as others on the road. I have contacted Jeep directly and have only been told it is under review. I have taken it to the dealer and 2 different mechanics only to be told they cannot get that part. I have been told driving is relatively safe, I just won't be able to control a sudden breaking stop! I cannot belive this being allowed to happen. I am not only concerned for my own vehicle but how many others are on the road with the same issue. I am hoping to file a complaint with NTSA to force jeep to resolve this issue.
ABS Module defective and Jeep can not provide one because of being on backorder for more than a year.
The contact called on behalf of a customer who owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while the driver was driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle failed to shift to the intended gear and went into LIMP Mode. The contact stated that the driver was able to pull to the side of the road. The driver turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the driver was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the part was not available and was under engineering review. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

I WAS DRIVING IN MY PARKING GARAGE AT ABOUT 12MPH AND WENT TO TAKE A SHARP RIGHT TURN. WHEN I WENT TO MAKE THE HARD RIGHT TURN, THE BRAKES SEEMED TO LOCK UP AND THE CAR DID NOT STOP. I COULD FEEL THE VIBRATIONS THROUGH MY FEET AND LUCKILY WAS STILL ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE CLEAR OF THE CEMENT WALL. *TR
PURCHASED A NEW 2014 JEEP WRANGLER WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN SEPTEMBER 2013. ON JULY 21,2014 I WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE AND PULLED ON THE PARKING BRAKE AND HEARD A POPPING NOISE. THE PARKING BRAKE FAILED AND WILL NOW NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE IN PLACE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PART FIXED ON JULY 23, 2014 AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE "PARKING LEVER" WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPLACEMENT PART IS ON "BACKORDER" AND THE DEALER COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY TIMELINE ON WHEN THE PART WOULD BE REPLACED. CONSIDERING THIS IS A MANUAL VEHICLE, THE PARKING BRAKE IS NEEDED TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP CORPORATE REGARDING MY ISSUE AND HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. UPON DOING FURTHER RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THIS ISSUE IS COMMON WITH JEEP WRANGLERS AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD INCIDENTS WHERE THEIR JEEP HAS ROLLED AWAY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD EVENTUALLY RESULT IN AN INJURY OR FATALITY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING MY JEEP WRANGLER UNTIL JEEP TAKES ACTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
WENT TO STOP AT LIGHT, HIT THE BRAKE IT WAS HARD AND DID NOT ENGAGE, I STOPPED BECAUSE I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. BRAKES NEVER ENGAGED, PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE BEFORE EXITING THE VEHICLE TO CHECK ON THE PEOPLE IN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND THE BRAKES SEEMED TO LET OUT AIR AND RELAX. THE BRAKES FELT NORMAL AT THAT POINT. POST ACCIDENT POLICE ESCORTED BE TO DEALERSHIP TO MAKE SURE THAT BRAKES CONTINUED TO WORK. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED NOTHING WRONG, SPOKE TO NEUTRAL MECHANICS AND THEY ALL STATED THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM THAT WOULD OCCUR AGAIN AND THAT THE BRAKES WOULD SEEM FINE IN THE MEANTIME. EXPLAINED THIS TO JEEP AND THEY SAID BRAKES WERE FINE. *TR
