Your 2008 Tucson has experienced multiple serious safety issues: the passenger airbag warning light stays on, brake lights malfunction, and most critically, the rear driver-side wheel assembly has overheated and caught fire twice (in 2020 and 2022). The emergency brake is not functioning properly, and you suspect the ABS system is the root cause based on your research. The issue has persisted despite previous repairs including caliper and master cylinder replacement. Diagnosing and repairing the ABS system and brake assembly may require professional inspection to identify the underlying electrical or mechanical fault causing the brake component to overheat.

Your car unexpectedly accelerated twice while you were parking—once in October 2020 and again in December 2021—even though you had your foot on the brake. Both incidents resulted in crashes that caused injuries, and the airbags did not deploy despite significant impact in the first crash. The dealership checked the vehicle after the first incident and said everything was fine, but the problem happened again. The fix will likely require a diagnostic scan of the accelerator system, brake control module, and airbag sensors to identify why the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably and why the airbags failed to deploy.

Your airbag warning light came on and stayed on while driving at 40 mph. The light continued to illuminate repeatedly, indicating a potential problem with your airbag system. This issue was never diagnosed or fixed by a mechanic. The problem may require a diagnostic scan to identify the fault in the airbag system and potentially replacement of airbag components or wiring.

AIRBAG LIGHT ON. DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED, HYUNDAI INLAND EMPIRE, LOMA LINDA, CA, DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED A WIRE WAS SEVERED IN LOOM ATTACHED TO PASSENGER SEATBELT THAT CONNECTS TO ASSEMBLY UNDER VEHICLE (PHOTOS AVAILABLE). THIS PART HAS NEVER BEEN TAMPERED AND UNAWARE THAT PART EXISTED UNTIL MECHANIC CHECKED AND ONLY DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED. I ASKED FOR AN EXCEPTION TO WARRANTY AS THIS IS NOT A MOVING PART. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PART AND THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO FIX A SAFETY ISSUE AS PART MUST BE DEFECTIVE IF WIRE SNAPPED. NO LONGER UNDER 60,000 MILE WARRANTY SO HYUNDAI WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DENIED PAYING FOR THIS. NOW MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. THEY HAVE ADVISED THE LOOM WHERE WIRE SNAPPED MUST BE REMANUFACTURED IN KOREA. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IS THE CASE WHEN THESE VEHICLES ARE STILL BEING MADE. I NEED HELP. *TR
