While driving at 45 mph, your vehicle suddenly veered side to side, causing you to pull over thinking you had a tire blowout. When you inspected the car at home, you discovered the rear driver and passenger side frame was detached and severely corroded through. This structural failure created a serious safety hazard that could affect vehicle stability and control.

Your car failed inspection because of extensive rust and corrosion underneath from salt exposure, and a mechanic warned the engine could fall out. When you took it to the Hyundai dealer for a gas tank recall repair, they completed that work but then refused to cover the widespread rust damage on the undercarriage. Fixing this will likely require undercarriage cleaning, rust treatment, and potentially welding repairs to corroded structural components.

Your 2007 Tucson failed Pennsylvania state inspection because a large hole developed in the left rear frame. The damage appears to be old and wasn't caused by a recent accident, but your dealer didn't notify you about it despite servicing your car multiple times over the past year. Repairing the frame is expensive and may cost more than the car's current value. Frame repair or replacement would be needed to pass inspection.
