Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE
Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Braun-modified Honda Odyssey vehicles. The fuel tank assembly installed by Braun may be susceptible to the fuel tank overfilling into the charcoal canister. If the charcoal canister fills with a sufficient amount of fuel, fuel may leak out.
Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
Fix: Braun will notify owners, and dealers will inspect vehicles. If evidence of a fuel leak is present, a new fuel tank assembly and a new Honda charcoal canister will be installed, free of charge. The recall began February 22, 2021. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.
NHTSA Campaign: 23V174000

Honda (American Honda Motor Co) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2020-2022 Passport and Odyssey vehicles. The heating pads behind both side-view mirrors may not be bonded properly, allowing the mirror glass to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: Detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace both left and right side-view mirrors, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 17, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is FE5.

Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Pilot, and 2019-2023 Passport vehicles. Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Fix: Dealers will replace the MOST cable harness and install a straightening cover over the vehicle cable connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are EEL, ZEM, and SFC.

Your 2021 Honda Odyssey is subject to a safety recall (Campaign 24V064000) involving the airbag system. You contacted your dealer about the recall repair, but they told you that replacement parts are arriving sporadically and haven't been able to complete the work. You also checked with two other Honda dealerships, but neither has been able to diagnose or repair your vehicle yet. Until the recall parts become available and the repair is completed, your airbag system may not function as designed in a crash.

Electrical System →3 issues
Your rearview camera display isn't showing an image, which limits your ability to see behind the vehicle and increases crash risk. The problem has persisted for several weeks, though it temporarily works after battery resets or fuse resets. A third-party inspection suggests this may be related to incomplete repairs from a previous Honda recall (23V431000), but Honda's solution requires you to pay for a dealership inspection upfront with reimbursement only if they confirm the recall connection. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the camera system and display wiring, possibly replacing faulty components or completing the original recall repair.

Your rear trunk hatch leaked water during rain because it wasn't properly sealed at the factory. The water damage has disabled the power trunk opener—your dashboard shows a "power tailgate problem" message, and the buttons no longer work to open it. You now have to open the trunk manually, which may cause additional damage to the door over time. The fix will likely involve replacing the power tailgate motor and resealing the hatch.

Your infotainment system's main screen has gone black multiple times while you're driving, taking several minutes to restart each time. This has happened 3 times in the 6 days you've owned the van. The system eventually restarts and works normally, but the repeated failures suggest an underlying electrical or software issue. A technician will need to diagnose whether this is a software glitch requiring a firmware update or an electrical connection problem with the display unit itself.

Forward Collision Avoidance →2 issues
Your forward collision avoidance system is braking unexpectedly when there's nothing in front of your car, and it's also triggering the lane departure warning in construction zones where temporary lane lines replace permanent ones. This causes your car to brake hard and come to a stop in the middle of the highway, creating a dangerous situation. The fix would likely involve updating the safety system's software or recalibrating its sensors to better distinguish between real obstacles and false triggers.

Your van's forward collision avoidance system is braking hard without any cars or obstacles in front of you — sometimes triggered by metal plates or speed bumps on the ground, but often with nothing visible ahead. When this happens, you can't override the brakes by pressing the gas pedal, which creates a dangerous situation where vehicles behind you might rear-end you. This occurs most frequently during school pickup and dropoff times, and your dealer hasn't been able to find or reproduce the problem. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and recalibrating the forward-facing camera or radar sensors that control the collision avoidance system.

Unknown Or Other →2 issues
Your Odyssey's Idle Stop system (which shuts off the engine at red lights to save fuel) is completely shutting down the engine and requiring a full restart while you're stopped in traffic. This happens without any warning lights or messages, leaving you stranded at intersections. The dealership has inspected the vehicle but hasn't provided a fix. This could involve replacing or reprogramming the Idle Stop system components, battery, or related electrical connections.

Structure →2 issues
Both of your door latches have failed at different times, making it impossible to fully close the doors. The first latch failed around 3 years of ownership, and the second around 5 years. When a latch fails, the door won't shut completely, which is a safety concern and expensive to fix. The repair will likely involve replacing the faulty door latch mechanism.

Your power tailgate suddenly stopped working and won't latch, causing interior lights to stay on and constant warnings. A few days later, both sliding doors and the tailgate stopped responding to any controls (switches, buttons, or key fob). A Honda service center found the tailgate control module was corroded from water damage, and a body shop traced the source to a water leak in the roof seam near the upper left rear pillar that's allowing water into the electrical systems. Fixing this will likely require sealing the roof leak first, then replacing the corroded control module and any damaged electrical components.

Electrical System, structure, unknown Or Other →2 issues
Your trunk door stopped working because water leaked in from the rear left window seal and damaged the computer system. Your mechanic said this is a common problem with the Honda Odyssey and flagged it as a potential safety issue since you wouldn't be able to open the trunk from the outside in an emergency. The repair involved replacing the waterlogged computer and likely resealing the window.

Your power tailgate stopped working, and a warning light appeared on your dashboard indicating a power tailgate failure. The dealer discovered water was leaking from the driver's side roof rail onto the tailgate motor, which caused the failure. The repair involved replacing the tailgate unit, reprogramming it, and resealing the roof rail to prevent future water leaks.

Steering,electrical System →1 issue
Your vehicle is suddenly losing all power while you're driving, which causes it to automatically shift into park and shut off. This has happened multiple times. You're also seeing strange error codes on the dashboard, and while you've tested the battery and electrical systems and they checked out fine, the problem keeps happening.

Suspension →1 issue
Your rear passenger side shock absorber snapped during a family road trip, causing your vehicle to fishtail and swerve toward lane markings when hitting bumps. The dealer also discovered older damage to your right front control arm, which was replaced and coincidentally fixed a steering column rattle you'd reported years earlier. You're concerned that if both suspension components had failed simultaneously at highway speed, your vehicle could have left the road entirely.

Electrical System, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your power tailgate stopped working and you received a "Power Tailgate Problem" error message on your dash. Water leaked into the tailgate area and damaged the power module that controls the door; the dealership repaired it in April 2025, but the same problem recurred in January 2026. Your concern is that the tailgate may open or close unexpectedly on its own, and water in the electrical module could potentially pose a fire risk. The fix will likely require replacing the door seal to prevent water intrusion and repairing or replacing the power module controller.

Engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your Odyssey loses engine power and won't accelerate when driving in very cold temperatures, especially when merging onto highways—the check engine light flashes, but the problem disappears after restarting. This has happened twice over two winters in similar situations, and no diagnostic codes are stored to help identify the cause. Honda has issued a service bulletin (24-085) about this issue, and you believe it poses a safety risk since it happens during critical driving moments like highway merges.

Electrical System, back Over Prevention →1 issue
Your backup camera, DVD player, clock, and navigation system are experiencing frequent network failures accompanied by popping or crackling sounds from the speakers. The system displays "Network Connection Lost" and "MOST Net Off" messages before going completely black, and takes over 5 minutes to reconnect. This is happening multiple times per day and started recently, though Honda has issued a recall for this exact problem on 2021 Odysseys that your VIN isn't included in. The fix will likely involve updating or replacing the vehicle's infotainment network module and related connections.
