Brakes not working right, feel spongy. Not sure if I would stop at stop signs or coming up behind other vehicles. Also heard a hissing sound when stepping on brakes. Took to Brakes Plus center and they determined it was the power brake booster and master cylinder and that the car should not be driven due to the severity of the problem. We called a Ford Dealership and validated my vin was not part of a recall and that the car had never had this issue fixed previously. The Brakes Plus employee found there was a recall for this exact issue, but as stated before, the vin was not part of this recall. I had to have the brakes fixed immediately to prevent harm to others or myself. I called a Ford Dealership to get an appointment, left a message, but still have not heard back from them so I had it fixed at Brakes Plus. The car never displayed any warning that I am aware of. Due to this being a known severe issue, I believe Ford should cover this issue regardless of the year, model or mileage of car. It seems to be a part that was used in many Ford vehicles and should have been a recall for any vehicle.

Braking was an issue so got new brake pads and rotors per mechanic rec. Braking continued to be a problem and after having another driver verify the brake pedal, took it into the mechanics again. They said it was due to the brake booster failure - leak. Which is why I couldn't really press down on the brake pedal and losing the ability to securely stop - even with new pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. Car is at the mechanics since it's not safe to drive with its unpredictable braking. Called Ford customer service but said that there was nothing that they can do since the extended warranty 13N02 – Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster – 2010-2013 Ford Edge & Lincoln MKX is not attached to VIN - they recommended in filing a complaint to see if it can get added and covered under this warranty. Given the date of when this car was purchased (12/20) and with COVID shut downs - it was difficult to address the brake problem - especially given work and everything was shut down. No warranty letters were sent informing me about this potential failure of a critical component in driving. Looks like there are many complaints from other owners experiencing brake failure and even a class action lawsuit support for Ford warrantying instead of recalling. There are also recalls of newer Edge and MKZ for brake booster issues. NHTSA, please help!

Our local mechanic advised us that the power brake booster was inoperable and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. He advised us to bring the vehicle to Ford for repair. He also advised us that the booster has a known defect and Ford had extended a warranty to ten years for this part. We were never notified by Ford that there was a known problem with diaphragm in the power brake booster. This was confirmed by the local Ford Dealer. The vehicle is schedule to be repaired at the Ford.dealer but we cannot bring the vehicle in for another2 weeks. The estimate just to repair this part is.$ 850.00 and does not include any other potential damage to the brake system. According to the local Ford dealer and the original dealership they advised me that the extended warranty has expired for the brake booster and that Ford will not approve extending that warranty. I also called Ford customer service asking if they would be responsible for this repair since this was a known defect on this vehicle. This defect is definitely a safety issue but Ford is refusing to approve the repair. They are claiming that they voluntarily extended their warranty for 10 years and would have made a repair under the warranty if there was an issue with the braking system during that time period. I replied that since they never advised anyone of this defect we were disadvantaged to take actions to trade in or sell the vehicle. During the covid lock down this vehicle was hardly used and if it was driven it probably would have required a repair while under this secret warranty. The vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it, Ford has issued a case# cas33813024p7f6v3 on this matter but will not cover the repair The vehicle has been taken off the road and will have to be towed to the Ford Dealership to avoid an accident. It is completely not roadworthy.

I RELEASED PRESSURE AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE PEDAL SHOT BACK HITTING MY FOOT WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT CAUSED A LISFRANC DISLOCATION AND SEVERE BONE BRUISING TO MY RIGHT FOOT. I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT THE END OF THE STREET ONTO A MAJOR ROAD AT THE EXIT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD. GOING DOWN A HILL, I ALWAYS GO SLOWLY TO ALLOW MYSELF PROPER BRAKING TIME, AS IT IS A VERY STEEP HILL ONTO A MAJOR AND VERY BUSY ROAD. I EXPERIENCED A LACK OF BRAKES. I STOOD ON THEM AS HARD AS I COULD, AND IT BARELY SLOWED ME DOWN ENOUGH TO PREVENT ME FROM GOING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AFTER I RECOVERED MY HEART RATE, I TURNED AROUND AND WENT HOME. I THEN BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AS THE FORD DEALERSHIP MY DAD PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND ALL THE SERVICE WAS DONE AT WAS, WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, 40 MINUTES AWAY. A DANGEROUS COMMUTE DUE TO THE INTERMITTENT LACK OF BRAKES. THE BULLETIN/EXTENDED WARRANTY IS 13N02 ' EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON BRAKE BOOSTER. I HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP, WHO INFORMED ME THAT IT HAD A 10-YEAR 150,000-MILE SERVICE BULLETIN, AND IT IS NOT COVERED. FIRST, THE CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD. SECOND, IT WAS LESS THAN 100K MILES ON IT. ALSO, THE MILEAGE WAS LOW, DUE TO THE LITTLE MY PARENTS DROVE THE CAR. THE AVERAGE MILEAGE ON THE CAR CURRENTLY IS 10,000 A YEAR. I BELIEVE THE ISSUE WOULD HAVE EXPOSED ITSELF WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD IF THE CAR WERE DRIVEN WITH TYPICAL MILEAGE (OVER 10,000 A YEAR).I AM ASKING YOU TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE WORK DONE ON MY CAR FOR THIS ISSUE, AS I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY, IF NOT AS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE OR MAJOR MEDICAL ISSUES AS WELL AS A LOSS OF OR MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY CAR. BRAKE BOOSTER HAD A VACUUM LEAK. MY CAR WAS OUTSIDE THE EXISTING VIN LIST FOR RECALLS AND/OR "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM". VACUUM LEAK AND STIFF PEDAL WAS MOST EVIDENT AT LOW SPEEDS (NEAR IDLE AND AT HIGH VACUUM CONDITIONS) FORD WOULD NOT REPLACE MY BOOSTER. I REPLACED IT MYSELF AND FOUND THAT THE OEM BOOSTER HAD RUSTED, WHERE THE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL (SQUARE CROSS-SECTION O-RING) MET, CAUSING THE LEAK AND POOR BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS. MASTER CYLINDER WAS IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH NO APPARENT LEAK - INSIDE OF BOOSTER WAS DRY AND CLEAN. REPLACING BOTH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BOOSTER HAS CURED THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN PARKED - IF MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, MAINTAINING FORCE, WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, THE VACUUM IMMEDIATELY BLED OFF OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER, CAUSING THE PEDAL TO RISE AND STIFFEN. INSPECTION OF THE BOOSTER PRIOR TO REPLACEMENT DID NOT GIVE ANY EVIDENCE OF AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM (THAT IS, NO HISSING OR LEAKING SOUNDS WERE PRESENT) THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE APPARENT OVER TIME (OVER THE PAST 18 MONTHS) AND GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I FELT THAT I DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT BRAKING POWER TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT LOWER SPEEDS - THUS, MY DECISION TO REPLACE THE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS, THE LEAK MUST HAVE BEEN GETTING WORSE, BECAUSE THE PEDAL WAS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO PUSH DOWN, WITH PEDAL EFFORT INCREASING AS THE VEHICLE SPEED DROPPED (LIKE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN) I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO PUSH HARD - BUT A SMALL OR FRAIL PERSON ENCOUNTERING THIS PROBLEM MAY NOT BE ABLE TO STOP IN TIME.

THE BRAKES ON THE EDGE HAD AN AUDIBLE HISSING SOUND WHEN COMPRESSED BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND IN MOTION. IF THE BRAKES WERE PRESSED MULTIPLE TIMES IN SHORT ORDER (I.E. IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC) THE RESPONSE OF THE SYSTEM WOULD BE INCONSISTENT AS IT WAS SOMETIMES "SQUISHY" AND OTHER VERY HARD. THIS SEEMED TO AFFECT THE RESPONSIVENESS OF THE SYSTEM. UPON TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC, IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS FAILING AND WOULD CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE UNTIL REPLACED. AFTER A LITTLE RESEARCH, FORD RECALL 13N02 WAS ISSUED FOR 2010 - 2013 EDGES FOR BRAKE BOOST FAILURE. FORD REJECTED MY CLAIM STATING THAT THIS VIN NUMBER WAS GOOD AND NOT PART OF THE ISSUE DESPITE THE FACT I HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS AFFECTING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED A FAILED BOOSTER AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO AFFECT MORE THAN THE VEHICLES NAMED IN THE RECALL AND IT IS A MATTER OF SAFETY WHEN YOU CANNOT TRUST THE PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSE OF A VEHICLE ESPECIALLY ON INTERSTATES WITH OTHER VEHICLES TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED. THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE BOOSTER WHICH WILL ALLOW THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO FUNCTION AS DESIGNED.

IF THE PEDAL WAS HELD DOWN, A SQUEALING NOISE THEN OCCURRED. I RESEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS, AND I CAME ACROSS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT FORD RELEASED IN 2014 TITLED, "13N02." THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TALKED ABOUT AN ISSUE THAT HAD BEEN OCCURRING IN FORD EDGE MODELS MADE BETWEEN 2010-2013. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES WAS SPOT ON WITH WHAT I HAD JUST EXPERIENCED WITH MY VEHICLE AND I MET THE PROGRAM TERMS DUE TO MY CAR BEING LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 150,000 MILES. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED. TO MY SURPRISE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BASED ON MY VIN NUMBER. WE THEN QUICKLY DISCOVERED IT WAS DUE TO MY CAR BEING BUILT FIVE DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCLUDED DATE ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY COVERED VEHICLES FROM MAY 3, 2010-MARCH 28, 2013. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE ON APRIL 28, 2010. THE STAFF AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS EITHER. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE DATES ON THE WARRANTY SHOULD BE ADJUSTED. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY SAID MY CAR WASN'T SHOWING UP ON THEIR SYSTEM AS COVERED AND TO TRY TO CONTACT FORD. THEN I CONTACTED FORD REGARDING THE ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT MY DEALER WITH A CASE NUMBER. ARE YOU KIDDING MY RIGHT NOW???? THIS IS ABSURD. I WILL PAY THE $700 TO FIX THE PROBLEM SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE VALUE I HAVE FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AND ON THE SAFETY OF MY NEIGHBORS. WITHIN MONTHS OF BUYING CAR NEW, I CALLED FIVE STAR FORD IN NORTH RICHLAND HILLS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE NOISE WAS WEATHER-RELATED, HIGH HUMIDITY. A FEW MONTHS LATER I TOOK CAR IN TO HAVE SEATS TIGHTENED AND ASKED TO HAVE BRAKES CHECKED AS I WAS STILL HAVE ISSUES. AGAIN, TOLD THAT IT WAS WEATHER-RELATED. THERE WAS NOT HIGH HUMIDITYI CALLED ONE OTHER TIME AND TOLD SAME THING. TOOK MY CAR TO BEVIL AUTO AND THEY TOLD ME ABOUT FORD CAMPAIGN NOTICE REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. CALLED DEALER AGAIN, GAVE THEN MY VIN, THEY SAID, "YOUR CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. ANYTHING ELSE I CAN HELP YOU WITH?", I SAID NO, HE SAID GOODBYE. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS WAS HANDLED AND FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THIS SAME PROBLEM.

MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000 MILES. AFTER A TRIP WE BEGAN TO NOTICE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY HARD ON THE INITIAL TOUCH, LIKE PUSHING AGAINST A BRICK WALL. VERY FRIGHTENING. BRAKES DID SLOW THE CAR DOWN, BUT NOT AS QUICK OR RESPONSIVE AS WHEN THE PEDAL IS WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN PUSHED VERY HARD, THE PEDAL FINALLY MOVES FORWARD TOWARD THE FLOOR IN A SOMEWHAT NORMAL MANNER, BUT MUSHY. A HISSING SOUND IS ALSO HEARD WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT FORD HAD JUST RELEASED A NEW EXTENDED WARRANTY AND FREE REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM CONCERNING THE BRAKE BOOSTER, A TEAR, AND BEGINNING WITH FORD EDGE'S BUILT IN 2010. WHEN MY VIN WAS CHECKED, I WAS THEN TOLD MY CAR DID NOT FALL WITHIN THE DATES FOR THE PROGRAM. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED ON APRIL 27 2010 AND THE PROGRAM BEGINS FOR CARS MANUFACTURED ON MAY 3, 2010. WHEN MY DEALER CALLED FORD HE WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE; MY CAR HAD MISSED THE DATE BY 6 DAYS. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SIMILAR PROBLEM, PLEASE REPORT IT SO THAT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS CAN BE RECORDED THAT FORD WILL BE REQUIRED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, FOR ALL CARS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM, NOT JUST THOSE MANUFACTURED AFTER SOME RANDOM DATE SELECTED BY FORD. IF THE ISSUE IS WITH THE PART, THEN ALL DEFECTIVE PARTS SHOULD QUALIFY. I HOPE IT DOES NOT TAKE A DEATH BEFORE FORD TAKES CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I CONTACTED FORD TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED. WHEN I QUESTIONED FURTHER I WAS ADVISED THE RECALL ONLY COVERS "SOME" OF THE CARS ASSEMBLED AT THE OAKVILLE PLANT WITH MY MAKE, MODEL , AND YEAR AND THAT THEY COULD NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS FAULTY EQUIPMENT.

HOWEVER, THE MEMO STATES THAT ONLY CERTAIN 2010 VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED AND MINE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. I AM TERRIFIED THAT ONE DAY SOON, THE CAR WILL NOT STOP AT ALL AND MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE SERIOUSLY INJURED. WE RECEIVED A QUOTE OF APPROXIMATELY $1400 TO REPAIR THE BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM. FORD IS COMPLETELY AWARE THAT THE BRAKES ON THE 2010 EDGE ARE FAULTY, BUT THEY KNOWINGLY CONTINUE TO PLACE FAMILIES IN DANGER BY NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THE BRAKE DEFECT IS MORE WIDESPREAD.

TOO MANY COMPLAINT ON FORD 2010 ACCELERATION PROBLEM THAT HAD INJURED MANY MANY AND PUT A LOT OF PEOPLES LIFE IN DANGER. I BOUGHT MY FORD LAST YEAR FROM AN AUTO DEALER. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM, I WAS PARKING MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT AND MY CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND I WENT ON THE GRASS. THE SECOND TIME I WAS PARKING IN MY GARAGE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED AGAIN ON ITS OWN AND I ALMOST PUSH MY SONS THROUGH THE GARAGE DOOR. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED IT ACCELERATED AGAIN ON ITS OWN AND THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK. I HIT A PARKED CAR IN A SMALL TOWNHOUSE PARKING LOT. MY CAR AND THE OTHER CAR WAS DAMAGED. POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND MY AUTO INSURANCE FIXED THE 3 CARS INVOLVED. I WAS SCARED I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE THAT DAY. SINCE THIS TIME I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE FORD COMPANY BUT THEY'RE NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY ON THE MATTER. I THEN WENT ON THE INTERNET TO RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM. FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE LOTS AND LOT OF COMPLAIN ON THIS ACCELERATING PROBLEM WITH FORD EDGE 2010. YET FORD CLAIMED THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE MODEL. WHEN IS FORD GOING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THE PROBLEM. ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED BEFORE ATAKING CARE OF THIS SITUATION. PLEASE HELP US. YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE. I BOUGHT A USED 2010 FORD EDGE LAST YEAR AUGUST FROM CONNICELLI DEALER IN CONSHOHOKEN PA. THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR, ON MY WAY HOME I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE HAS A PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK AND WAS FIXED. RIGHT AFTER THIS., I WAS PARKING IN A SMALL PARKING LOT , THE CAR ACCELERATED ON HIS OWN AND WENT ON THE GRASS. THE SECOND TIME I WAS PARKING IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE, THE CAR ACCELERATED AGAIN AND I ALMOST DRAG MY SECOND CAR TO THE BASEMENT. THE THIRD TIME, I WAS PARKING IN SMALL PARKING LOT AND IT ACCELERATED AGAIN. ONLY THIS TIME, THE CAR CRASH INTO PARKED CAR AND THE CAR HIT ANOTHER CAR. MY CAR AND TWO OTHER CARS WAS DAMAGED. THANK GOD, NOBODY WAS IN THE TWO CARS. THE 3 CARS LOOK LIKE IT WAS A HIGHWAY AUTO ACCIDENT. I AM NOT SURE IF THE US GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT FORD AND THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM UNTIL WHEN IT KILLS ONE OF THEIR OWN. ORDINARY CITIZEN DO NOT COUNT. FORD COMPANY IS A GIANT, MEGA COMPANY THAT HELPS WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICIANS IN US. I AM SCARED OF THIS CAR. IT ALMOST KILL ME. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS ON THIS MONSTER HEARTLESS COMPANY SIDE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED NUMEROUS TIMES TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE STALLING FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED.THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE GEAR SHIFTER HAD TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR BACK TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE GEAR SHIFTER DOES NOT RELEASE FROM PARK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 27,000. UPDATED 2/19/13 *CN ALSO, THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED.

ON 1/21/12, I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, THE ENGINE MADE A FUNNY NOISE AND THE CAR SURGED FORWARD CRASHING INTO A FORD MUSTANG. THIS CRASH SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED SINCE MY FOOT HAD THE BRAKE DEPRESSED. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A HALT AFTER HITTING THE MUSTANG, I HAD TO PULL THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF "PARK" TO BACK UP OFF THE DAMAGED VEHICLE. AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO RANDALL FORD TO BE CHECKED OUT, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THAT MY FOOT WAS ON BOTH PEDALS. THIS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IN MY CAR UNLESS MY FOOT WAS TURNED AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE FROM IT'S NORMAL POSITION. IF MY FOOT HAD SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE AND HIT THE GAS I WOULD HAVE SAID THAT AND NEVER TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN TO BE INSPECTED. I KNOW FORD NEVER WANTS TO ADMIT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES BUT I URGE THE "POWERS THAT BE" TO GO BACK INTO THEIR ISSUE HISTORY AND CHECK OUT THE ISSUES YOU HAD WITH THE FORD FREESPIRIT SURGING FORWARD ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUS WHILE MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I CANNOT AFFORD AN $8000. REPAIR. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO STATE THAT IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN BETWEEN MY CAR AND THE MUSTANG IT HIT, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY HURT OR KILLED. *TR

I HAVE A NEW 2010 FORD EDGE. I HAD IT A WEEK WHEN I PULLED UP TO A STOP SIGN ON A HILL. I HAD THE CAR IN DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THERE WERE CARS IN FRONT OF & BEHIND ME. WHEN IT WAS TIME TO MOVE FORWARD, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND STARTED MOVING IT TO THE GAS PETAL WHEN I NOTICED THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS. I PUT MY FOOT BACK ON THE BRAKE AND QUICKLY MOVED IT TO THE GAS PETAL AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD BEFORE BUMPING THE CAR BEHIND ME. I REPEATED THE ACTION ON OUR DRIVEWAY, WHICH ALSO HAS A SLOPE. AGAIN, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY DROVE IT AND SAID IT DID ROLL BACKWARDS BUT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT - THAT WAS NORMAL OPERATION. THEY DROVE ANOTHER EDGE AND SAID IT DID THE SAME THING. I TOLD THEM IT SHOULDN'T DO THAT - IT WAS UNSAFE, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. *TR
