2018 Dodge Journey Electrical Problems

Back up camera failure cutting off and on. Could cause wreck. Dull headlights.

My back up camera isn't working and none of the locks work with the key fob. I bought my car from a car lot and it was a fleet car and it says all recalls have been fixed but my car hasn't been fixed at all and I don't know why. My car won't even charge my phone at all in either port so it has a big wiring problem.

Rear back up camera in the rear view mirror is not functioning correctly. It will go black but illuminate a camera with a line through it. Makes in impossible to use to back up because the light on the mirror makes it extremely difficult to see in the mirror and the camera isn’t working to help either.

My wiring harness needs replaced. 3 of my 4 windows would only work sometimes. I was told there was a loose connection but when those wires were held together it got extremely hot very fast, and not to even attempt to use the windows because it could cause a fire.

I was driving mid day, 35 MPH on major city street and the engine shut off without any warning. As I was in right hand lane I was able to force the car to the curb even though the power steering had shut down. With the car stopped I could see there were no warning lights on and the it was still in "drive".

My car started off with the engine light coming on and then soon after, as I slowed down and turned, my engine shut off, I lost all power steering, and the battery remained on. This has happened since many times and is completely random.

For some reason my VIN [XXX] doesn't show on the list. 1) back up camera shows a black screen or a blurry dark picture (on going issue for over a year) 2) electrical system sometimes refuses to acknowledge the key fob and or won't start due to it thinking it has a dead battery.

My back up camera has flipped the view upside down. Sometimes it glitches like static. I have tried different approaches to fix the issue but it continues to be upside down.

At first,unknown, All problems are in the Tailgate,of which you cant see while driving. Tailgates are designed to be used. First ,the backup camera went out, then the third brake light went, and you can ONLY SEE when backing up to a Large picture window-also,parking light R/S in tailgate is out.

The cruise control has stopped working. And there is faulty wiring in the hood making the check engine light come on. And a huge water and oil leak we just got the vehicle Friday 2/21

Lighting bolt with parentheses came on along with off road sign. I was unable to accelerate past 20 MPH and then I just rolled to a stop in morning traffic with my flashers on. I took it to dealership and they replaced my key battery since I told them I was also having problems lock and unlocking my car.

I have had my radio replaced two times already for defect and now the radio want shut off again and it want allow a phone to connect to it also now the controls to the air flowing system (AC) want shut off and stay off when u push the off button . Rear backup camera is severely blurred as to make it impossible to safely see any Cleaning of the lens made no change in the severity of the image. The Carmax dealership in Brooklyn park MN was aware of the issue and notified of the malfunction after a test drive. Their answer was that it was a known issue but there was no effort to fix the problem because it was not listed as a recall issue.

Door locks will not stay lock doors will unlock when wet when you wash car you get water on doors car lock and unlock uncontrollably and in car wash and when it rains doors unlock them self's , dealer can not fix problem went there 6 times.

When I went to dealership I knew I want a truck with 3rd row, I test drove the journey I picked out of what was offered when I test drove the first truck, it refused to shift from 1st to 2nd gear so we went back and drove the one I purchased.

The radio in this vehicle often will make a sudden loud noise mid-music and then shut down the system entirely for about a minute. It then starts back up as normal. This happens unpredictably about once a week since I purchased the vehicle around november.

After pcm and ecm recall repair, bluetooth system would not connect, check engine light on, touch screen radio malfunctioning while driving, eco color driveing tracker nolonger worked, the electronic gas miles was incorrect (exp: after puting gas in miles showed 115 until empty, drive 7 miles the car would show 70 miles to empty) both would malfunction while driving highway and city.

The backup camera displays upside down. Talking to other Dodge owners this seems to be a common problem. I Seema to me this is a defect that has the potential to be a safety hazard because it gives a distorted review

***Radio system not working properly no longer connecting properly to phone, sounds muffled to the receiver on the other end of call, audio connect is not allowing me to be heard and I got a brand new updated phone! Thinking that was the issue. It wasn’t the phone, there was a precious recall regarding system updates issues, that I saw on here, but I was never notified about it!!

It started with third brake light out, then,tail wipers intermittenly work, then camera not working- had to have someone watch the back of car to see also right inside light out AND Tailgate wont lock with rest of doors After looking on YOUTUBE this has been going on since 2012

The backup camera randomly works. When it does work, within minutes it slowly fades from a picture to a black screen.

In my journey my back up camera is the mirror not the center one. The thing is my mirror doing the same thing cant even see and idk how. Its all blurry the thing is the mirror looks really good and the camera.

While driving on the freeway some of the lights on my dash kit up and all the sudden my car would not go over 15 MPH. I tried to turn it off and turn it back on and it continued to do the same thing. I did have my grandkids in the car.

Door locks Doors remain locked or unlocked. Key fob will not unlock or lock doors. Panel will not unlock or locked doors

The back up camera does not display an image. It will only show black, with a camera slashed out symbol.

Back up camera stopped working just after manufacturer warranty expired. When car is in reverse the screen in the rear view indicates the camera isn't working

The car will turn systems of the car off and own without anyone touching anything windows rolling up on their, traction turning off, and climate controls and A/C coming on by itself. I contacted Stellantis last year about this vehicle and received no substantial resolution. This exact thing happened when I owned a 2014 Dodge Journey and I submitted the same complaint.

The headlights in the "auto" position will turn on the headlights and then after 5 or so minutes of driving, the interior dash board will dim and brighten, and then the headlights turn off entirely. If you move them off the "auto" position, the headlights will not turn on even when switched to the headlights. When you switch back to auto, it puts the brights on instead of the standard headlights.

Rear view mirror (known as backup camera failed prematurely, dodge corporate office is failing to recognize this an issue stating that if there was a recall for my VIN they would fix free of charge. This car is just barely over 3 years old and failing components that put me at risk as a driver when backup camera fails as it is very complex to see behind me while In reverse

Backup camera malfunctioning shows up side down camera when working most times backup camera shows a silver screen flickering this is back over prevention equipment malfunctioning malfunctioning this is a major safety problem this issue happened all of a sudden the backup camera work perfectly the night before the next morning the camera would not work and has not worked since there are recalls for this issue on the 2018 dodge journey which exactly what mine is but my VIN says no recall the display appears on the rear view mirror

3rd brake light functions when doors are closed and reverse camera turns off when headlights are on.

The rear camera glitches, goes dark and doesn't come on.

The radio screen will freeze for a few hours, turning on and off the vehicle will not help. It also will give a hard time paring the bluetooth even after the paring device has been in the list for days or weeks.

I had pulled up to a stop light and the vehicle would not fully come to a stop so I depressed the break harder and as I release the brake the car took off and was steadily accelerating I turn the car off and got to a parking lot the tow truck driver had the same result when he tried to back the vehicle up to place it on the truck.

The backup camera stopped working and the cabin lights within the car would not turn off, not even while driving. The lights would get brighter every time I hit the break making it dangerous driving in the dark and eliminated the use of the backup camera for safety.

Rear passenger side window does not go down. All other windows go down normally except for one window.

The passenger side seat belt want lock, one week after we bought it the driver side. Back door will come open goin down the road .the dash started cracking 1 week after we bought it 9 days after we bought windsheild started cracking on driver side
