THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT HESITATED WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

IN FEBRUARY 2015 WE WERE DRIVING OUR GRAND CARAVAN MINIVAN WHEN IT SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND STALLED, THIS OCCURRED FOUR TIMES IN TWO DAYS. WE TOOK THE CAR IN TO LOCAL DEALER . WE HAVE AN IGNITION KEY RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE .WE WERE INFORMED BY DEALER THAT DODGE IS CHOOSING NOT TO REPAIR THIS MODEL YEAR AND WE WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO FIGHT IT OUT WITH DODGE. THE DEALER WITHIN 24 HRS SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE VAN FOR US GAVE US NEW KEYS AND THE PART WAS TAKEN CARE OF.ON MARCH 25 201 I HAD YET ANOTHER OCCURRENCE OF STALING VEHICLE, CONTACTED DODGE .DODGE INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A DESIGNED NEW IGNITION PART FOR MY CAR THAT THE FIX THAT THE DEALER MADE WAS TEMPORARY ,WHICH WE WERE NEVER MADE AWARE OF, WE HAVE RECEIVED CONFLICTING INFORMATION FROM BOTH THE DEALER AS WELL AS DODGE. HOW LONG MUST I DRIVE A VEHICLE WHICH IS STALLING OUT WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. WHY IS IT THE WELL FAIR OF MY FAMILY HAS NO VALUE AND DODGE CAN DRAG THEIR FEET COMING UP WITH A PROPER DESIGN AFTER THREE YEARS KNOWING ABOUT A DESIGN FAILURE. *TR

PULLED ONTO LEMAY FERRY ROAD FROM FORDER ROAD (63129) AT THE LIGHT. AS SOON AS I GOT ONTO LEMAY FERRY RD. GOING SLOW IN TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE CUT OUT AND DIED SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING. I HAD NO EXTRA KEYS ON WITH THE KEYFOB AND NOTHING BUMPED THE IGNITION. THERE WAS NOT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2009 AND HAS BEEN REPORTED REPEATEDLY TO CHRYSLER SINCE THAT TIME. ALTHOUGH THERE IS NOW A RECALL, THE PARTS ARE APPARENTLY UNAVAILABLE AND I HAVE BEEN ON THE LIST FOR REPAIR WITH THE DEALER SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS WAY TO HANDLE THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC. OBVIOUSLY, CHRYSLER IS NOT THAT CONCERNED ABOUT US. IT ALSO HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN THE DARK LAST FALL WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY DID BUMP THE FOB WHILE SCRATCHING A MOSQUITO BITE ON MY KNEE. RIDICULOUS!!!! DANGEROUS!! LAWSUITS!!! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A STRANGE NOISE AND NOTICED STEAM RISING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND THE INNER HOSES WERE DAMAGED DUE TO PRESSURE BUILD-UP. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V046000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF OTHER RECALLS AS WELL. THE CONTACT NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,200.

ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS AROUND 2011, I WENT OVER SMALL BUMPS GOING INTO PARKING LOTS AND A DRIVEWAY AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. IT WAS REPORTED TO CHRYSLER THEN AND A DEALER LOOKED AT IT. SINCE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NOTHING WAS DONE EXCEPT SOMEONE TOLD ME TO REMOVE THE EXTRA KEYS FROM MY KEYCHAIN. IT SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE. IN THE PAST MONTH, THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN STAYING ON WHEN I START THE ENGINE. I HAVE TO TRY IT A SECOND TO TIME AND IT STAYS ON (NOT ALL THE TIME BUT SOMETIMES). THEN TODAY, I WENT OVER A BUMP GOING INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED- THE ENGINE STOPPED. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AGAIN. *TT

EXTREME TOXIC HAZARD CAUSED BY FAILED FACTORY INSTALLED HEATER HOSE CONNECTORS. FULL INFORMATION AVAILABLE. 2000-2010 VANS, POSSIBLY A LARGE AMOUNT OF DIFFERENT VEHICLE INVOLVED. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE COOLANT SYSTEM. THE FIRST INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEM WAS A STRANGE ODOR THAT OCCURRED AT VARIOUS TIMES, INSIDE THE VEHICLE AFTER BEING INSIDE FOR A LENGTH OF TIME. I SEARCHED FOR OBVIOUS LEAKS, BUT THERE WERE NONE. IT SEEMED THAT CHRYSLER USED A MOLDED PLASTIC COMPRESSION TYPE HOSE FITTING IN THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS OF THEIR COOLANT SYSTEM, IN SOME VEHICLES. THE FITTING HAD ONE FLAW, AS I HAVE FOUND OUT, WERE MADE TO BE PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY, THEY ARE KEYED, BUT, IF PUT TOGETHER INCORRECTLY, AS IN THIS CASE, IT ALLOWED LEAKING OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL COOLANT TO DRIP ONTO A 2200 PLUS EXHAUST MANIFOLD COVER, IN THE VEHICLE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, IN SMALL DROPLETS, THAT BECOMES A SUPER-HEATED VAPOR, WHICH IS DRAWN INTO THE VEHICLE VENTILATION SYSTEM, WHEN IT IS IN OPERATION. *JB ..UPDATED 12/17/13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING. AFTER INSPECTION, HE NOTICED THAT THE HEATER HAD FRACTURED AND WAS CAUSING WATER TO LEAK ONTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE PART TO THE DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEATER HOSE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. BOUGHT VEHICLE ON 12-14-2010(USED FROM A CAR DEALER) VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN INSPECTED(72 POINT CHECK) THIS VAN HAD 34,916 MILES ON IT. DEALER DID RECALLS AND WARRANTY WORK. WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TIRE "LIGHT" GOING ON & OFF. WAS ADVISED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE MONITOR, THAT THE TIRES JUST NEEDED A LITTLE AIR FOR THE HIGHER ALTITUDE. THEY OVER FILLED TIRES. TIRE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME WE WERE ADVISE, BY A TIRE DEALER, THAT THE VALVES(MONITORS) WERE CRACKED & LEAKING AIR. ALSO THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL WE GOT TO THE DEALER, HE SAID TO TURN OFF THE MOTOR AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS TIME IT WENT OFF. AFTER READING THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT ENGINE LIGHTS, WE ARE SCARED THAT THE DEALERS ARE AGAIN LYING TO US. WE DO NOT WANT TO END UP WITH THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPING ON US ON THE HIGHWAY, INFRONT OF AN 18 WHEELER! THIS ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TO OTHERS AND THEIR TRANSMISSION JUST QUIT. WE BELIEVE THAT THESE DEALERS, ARE IN DENIAL. WHY DID THE DEALER TELL MY HUSBAND JUST TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT USING A CODE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN 2 TIMES ABOUT THE 'LOW TIRE" LIGHT & EACH TIME THEY JUST BLEW IT OFF AS NEEDING AIR! IT WAS AN INDEPENDENT TIRE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY EXAMINED THE TIRE TO FIND THE CRACKED VALVE-HE DID NOT HAVE ANY THING TO GAIN, AS THE VALVE STEM WAS RETURNED AGAIN TO THE DEALER. WHEN WE LOOKED BACK AT THE REPAIR TICKETS (2) WE NOTICED THAT OUR REPORTING OF THE TIRE LIGHT BEING ON WAS NOT EVEN ON EITHER OF THE REPAIR TICKETS! BTW: OUR 1999 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK HAS THE IRREGULAR & ACCELERATED IDLE AS WELL AS THE "OUT OF NO WHERE" ACCELERATION, WHICH WE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. WE COPIED DOZENS OF THESE COMPLAINTS OFF THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS THEIR SOLUTIONS/FIXES AND GAVE THE STACK OF PAPERWORK TO THE DEALER.(WE HAD BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERS DOZENS OF TIMES PREVIOUSLY) AS THE PROBLEM KEPT COMING BACK.
