I was driving on the highway at speeds greater than 60mph. Traffic came to a sudden stop and the pre-crash avoidance assisted with breaking. I resumed driving.

Late 2021 I noticed a strange noise and a slight stutter in my breaks that would only happen at the end of the breaking motion just before the car would completely stop. The sound and stutter, felt as though a clutch was trying to engaged. I scheduled a service appointment in January to have my tire replaced and car checked.

While approaching a red light at 35mph on a smooth road when I pressed my brake pedal nothing happened for nearly a second then the brakes worked as usual. Luckily no one was in front of me or I could of easily been in a crash. The volt has a brake-by-wire system with regenerative braking.

While slowing down approaching a red light with the gear in l (regenerative braking), the car was in electric mode and traveling at a low speed (under 10mph and likely less than 5mph) when the passenger side front tire went into a large but shallow pot hole at which time the car felt like it accelerated (at the very least deceleration ended).

After diagnosing an audible tick/click sound that occurs whether the car is powered on or off but stops momentarily when the brake pedal is applied, I was told the electric brake booster is bad and must be replaced. But gm has no parts available. I was told to drive the car and if the part fails completely, I will have no brakes at all.

My 2017 Chevy Volt has been making a clicking noise coming from the brake booster assembly since I have bought it. When your foot is released from the brake pedal, there is an audible click (3-4 times a second) inside of the cabin and I've decided to make a formal complaint as GM isn't taking the appropriate action to fix this issue.

Several times since I purchased the car in Jan 2022, the left and/or right front brakes have dragged without brake pedal actuation while I was driving in surface street traffic, typically with speed limits of 25 to 35 MPH. This has resulted in overheating of the brake caliper, rotor, and wheel. Typically the car can be driven again without issue after two hours of cool-off time.

While using one pedal driving the brake lights do not engage unless brake pedal is used. This is a known issue by the company and was fixed in later models due to it being a problem. After speaking to the company I was advised to go to the dealer who informed me that the company has not offered any sort of update or repair option.

This vehicle has a “Shift to Park” issue which is well established all over the internet. I’m afraid to walk away from the vehicle when that message pops up. Seems to be something that could injure/kill someone if the car cannot be left in park safely.

Vehicle brakes fail to fully engage intermittently. When slowing down on multiple separate occasions, the brakes work initially, then, the car feels like it's sliding on ice (dry summer roads) then the brakes engage again. The brake peddle generally feels normal at first, then goes soft and sinks.

When approaching a stop and applying the brake pedal, the brake pedal suddenly sinks and car loses traction and the car suddenly feels like it starts to slide. After releasing and then reapplying the brakes, the returns to normal.

The brake pedal and gas pedal both modulate pressure needed to either accelerate or brake. The brake pedal will change pressure needed to brake suddenly, causing you to apply much more force to brake pedal, which is unexpected and dangerous. For example, when driving at highway speed, a car in front of you stops, and you apply brakes.

I was approaching a sudden red light and applied my brakes hard but not too hard (I did not suddenly slam the brakes). The brakes applied as expected at first but the brakes let up some and my vehicle failed to decelerate for about half a second before the brakes applied again and decelerated to a stop.
