I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LT 1500 with only 19K Miles. When I brought this vehicle I was having problems with hearing a loud clunking noise coming from the rear of the Vehicle. Every Time I Stop at a red light, stop at a stop sign, yield at a yield sign, and slow down to turn in my driveway I can hear this clunking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle.

On 01/12/2026, the oil cooler line broke while driving, leaving 8 qts of oil covering the underside of the vehicle (exhaust, suspension and tires) creating a fire hazard along with possible loss of control with the rear tires coated in oil.

While traveling at a high rate of speed one of the Active fuel management lifters failed. This caused a misfire in one cylinder also damaging the cam shaft. The engine was stuttering and running very poorly at higher speed.

Several Thousand of these vehicles are experiencing engine/ lifter and transmission failure which can cause accidents and death. There was a class action lawsuit filed against GM and it needs to be offered to all owners of these affected vehicles.

*What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?- drive transmission while driving at a low speed 25mph or less I stopped at a stop sign and preceded to go while accelerating the truck started to go and immediately stopped moving forward with a high rev on the RPMs I checked to see if maybe the truck died but it was still in drive I put my hazard lights on and shut the truck off thinking for some reason it shut off when starting again immediately did a high rev when trying to accelerate with the gas pedal now this happened for about 10min I a high traffic area I proceeded to push the truck out of the way with the help of some kind strangers, I waited about 20min till starting the truck again and regained drive I went back and forth momentarily only to have the same thing happen again.

The torque converter fails prematurely at 100k miles cause driver to be left stranded and left with a 5k-10k bill to fix it.

GM customer satisfaction program N212326940 is exactly what has happened and GM states it is not associated to my VIN so they can't (won't) do anything about it, even though the bulletin clearly indicates 2019 Silverado 1500 (new model). This occured as I was on the interstate.

engine replacement at 60k miles due to metal pieces broken down and shredded in engine, happened while driving. dealer replaced engine because I had extended warranty. Few months later the transmission failed and they replace with a brand new transmission because I had extended warranty.

The engine oil cooler line detached from the crimp joints, causing an "oil pressure low turn vehicle off" alert. I was fortunately able to pull over immediately, and catch the 8 quarts of oil which dumped out. This resulted in $634 repair bill, and likely damage to the engine of the truck. Had I not been in a rural area and able to pull over immediately, I would have lost all power to drive and dumped that oil on the road, causing both safety hazard and environmental damage. This truck has been serviced by our local Chevy dealer who confirmed the problem with GM. This is a known problem to GM, the subject of their Customer Satisfaction program bulletin N192220080, and a recall in Canada and Alaska. Clearly the issue exists in areas other than Canada and Alaska, yet GM refused to cover any of the cost under our 60,000 mile warranty and has not issued a recall in other states.

There were no specific warning lamps or messages associated with the issue. The symptoms of hard jerks when shifting and sluggish acceleration appeared over time but have not been linked to any warning signals from the vehicle’s systems.

When I started driving, the transmission began to feel loose, like gears weren’t seated all the way. And then it began revving for no reason, and would eventually catch a gear as I let off the gas. My truck when it is in the city and I?m approaching a stop sign the transmission makes the vehicle shake. The aggressive shake only happens when I?m bringing my truck to a stop after going past the first gear. Transmission shuttering at low speed causes vibration in the steering wheel on eight speed transmissions. Two visits to dealer. Transmission fluid changed, not change.

Transmission will hesitate and shift very hard from 1st to 2nd gear especially in colder weather. This has happened since I purchased the truck. Dealer changed transmission fluid and said hard hesitant shift was normal.

This problem occurs after the vehicle has been driven any distance, but far enough to shift gears in the automatic transmission and when the auto engine stop is deactivated manually or auto engine stop doesn't activate due to driving conditions. When the vehicle comes to a complete stop the torque converter locks and causes the vehicle to lurch forward.

Vehicle shifts harshly making control questionable at times. I went to accelerate around a vehicle lost all power until it found a gear. Someone will get hurt because of this truck especially on slippery winter roads.

Seemed as if the car would almost slip in and out gear when diving approx. I then noticed the check engine light came on and flashed engine reduction and seemed to lose some power. I took it in to the dealer, 2 days later they replaced r&r camshaft position actuator magnet intake.the next day after the truck back.

When putting vehicle in drive from park it jumps forward even with foot on the brake. When going from reverse to drive it feels like the vehicle is not in gear and then engages and then the vehicle makes a clunk noise and abruptly jumps forward. There is also a issue when going from first to second when accelerating and the same when downshifting.

Repeated attempts by jones chevy, sumter sc, they have not identified the vibration problems with my new vehicle. 22+ days in repair, multiple visits, and gm classifies harsh vibration as "normal characteristic" and closed the case, saying its final. I have contacted gm ceo with certified letter, discussed with exec.

The 8 speed transmission sometimes gets hung in between gears or shifts very hard after it intermittently comes out of gear. This week, I went to cross a road on dry road conditions and the vehicle came out of gear, the engine revved and I was without a gear for 2-3 seconds, causing the oncoming traffic to be uncomfortably close by the time I regained power and was able to cross the road.

Ongoing communication between local dealer and chevy/gm executive support team to fix shudder/vibration is not resolved. Chevy states "normal characteristic" for this model vehicle, 2019 silverado 5.3, 8 speed. I vehemently disagree.

Was driving back home going around 65mph when all of the sudden it down shifted and eventually lose power. I pulled over restarted truck and check engine light turned on and would not shift out of first gear. I could not take it to the dealership that day as it was sunday and would have to wait till monday.

2019 chevy silverado, 5.3l with 8-speed transmission. Experienced intermittent transmission shudder at 32 - 44 MPH. Vehicle serviced per gm ts bulletin to drain and flush transmission, replace defective fluid with atf mobile 1 synthetic.

Automatic transmission and brake pressure problems. The automation transmission jerks when accelerating from zero miles per hour or at low speeds. It can dramatically increase the rate of an incident due to the powerful movement that the movement does to the whole truck.

After using the vehicles 4WD I got a esc service light which stayed on for 3 hours and wouldnt allow me to use the cruis ed control . Also ive noticed hardshifts and delayed shifts in the transmission when shifting from park to drive and from reverse to drive . And when reversing the vehicle sometimes the backuo camera does not come on like normal

The contact stated that on several occasions while moving off from a stand still, there was a hard shift in the transmission between first and second gear. The failure was also evident on the downshift from third gear to second gear while slowing the vehicle.

This truck has been very jerky when shifting. Transmission issue plus engine had valves done but still is a problem mostly jerky really bad to the point seat belt is a good thing.

The 6.2 Eco tech V8 is failing. Chevrolet new car of Lowell Massachusetts reports that motor needs to be torn down due to component failure. Also transmission is whining and will need replacement transmission shifts hard between gears and lunges forward while down shifting.

It shakes violently and shifts violently

My truck out of nowhere will momentary lockup of the rear wheels, I can't get it to release unless I remove the battery. This has happened around a dozen times. It has happened a low speeds and high speeds.

My transmission keeps shuttering during passing gear around 50-55 MPH. It causes my truck to slow down drastically. It's always a knee jerk.

Vehicle is showing the GM "SHIFT TO PARK" error code on the dash board, when turning the engine off.

Transmission shifts really hard and down shift hard. Have been the to dearships 3 times being told that’s just how the transmission is even them acknowledging. It’s a problem.

When put in drive and start driving as I start going it won’t shift and takes longer than normal when finally shifts it’s to hard and truck jumps a lot as if had hit a bump with rear tires, Also while driving in highway truck vibrates to much have already try new tires new rims and different parts of suspension to solve issues but continues to do the same.

The rear brakes lock up when slowing down. mechanic said its the transmission and that he had seen alot of this in this make and model of truck. The only fix is to clean but that is a temporary fix.

There is an issue with the transmission. My vehicle had started shifting erratically and became very clunky. At highway speeds, my truck will shutter and shift up and down for no reason while remaining at a constant speed.

The torque converter started vibrating and the transmission starting hard shifting its in shop now needing new Torque converter and transmission

Transmission slams down into gear when downshifting causing the truck to jerk. My concern is controlling the truck during the violent downshifting.

Gear slamming into low gear from drive, jerks, will not come out of low gear. Warming lamp comes on. Happened 3 times within 3 months.

2019 chevrolet silverado trail boss. Consumer writes in regard to transmission issues. The consumer stated in addition to the transmission issues, he also wants to be reimbursed for the unnecessary replacement of rotors, the diagnostic of the ses light due to miscommunication about the active grill shutter, as well as the rotation of the vehcle tires.

Silverado is telling me to shift my truck into Park, when the truck is actually already in Park. This does not allow me to physically turn the ignition off on my truck, forcing me to start and shut off my truck multiple times.

Transmission revert to neutral revs over 4000 RPM then slams into gear and takes off then when you come to a stop it feels like another vehicle hit you from nehind

The transmission don’t respond good

When backing out of the driveway and shifting from Reverse to drive the transmission slows the engine before slamming into second gear. During the entire driver the transmission shakes before shifting into any gear. I took it to Patriot Chevy in Warminster, Pa on 8/2/21.

Transmission issues shifting problems and shattering when driving

Truck will rev high and not move for 2 or 3 seconds when accelerating after stopping at redl lght then slam into first gear and lurch forward abruptly. The motor mounts are damaged from doing this over and over again. Engine has 44000 miles is serviced on time every time and not abused.

From reverse going into drive has delay shift and shifts and jerks real hard before going into drive. Its not all the time but have notice it on different times. Feels like rear end or trans is slipping

While taking off fist shift from 2nd to 3rd gear trans slips to the point of losing forward momentum for several seconds. Multiple times in shop and failed to duplicate problem. Happens daily.

I was driving up a hill at approx. 5 miles an hour, with coworker in vehicle. The transmission could not find a gear and the vehicle lost momentum and rolled backwards down the hill.

From a complete stop or changing from reverse to drive, the truck hesitates then jerks into drive.

When decelerating and braking near a complete stop (traveling in 5-40 MPH traffic w/ lights) the transmission immediately downshifts hard (2 to 1) and jerks the car forward getting potentially close to other vehicles on the road.

When I take off the truck jerks and shakes until about 5-10 MPH. It sees like the transmission is not going into gear. It happens when I first take off to go.

The transmission shifting from 1st to second gear has about a 5 second delay and then is a rough shift into 2nd. Only happens when the vehicle is cold from sitting for a long period like over night. After the one hard shift it doesn't do it the rest of the day.

When I was driving this vehicle first problem I start getting was the 4WD service light and won't be able to switch to 4WD, and was. Close to get in the wreck couple time during the winter storm. Second problem was when I was driving around 70mph on hwy truck got reduced engine power and slowed down my speed a lot, luckily I didn't have vehicle to close to me.

I was stopped on a hillside with engine running, shift lever in park, and the truck started to roll backwards. The truck computer put on the emergency brakes. I tried this three different times with the same problem of it rolling backwards.

When cold, the transmission has a hard slip when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. Usually happens in the morning when I am leaving my house. On icy/snow covered road it will cause the rear wheels to lose traction.

8l90 automatic transmission will lurch forward abruptly when shifting from 1-2 gear. Also, hard shift from 1-2 when cold.
