2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Transmission Problems

I am having issues with my transmission. When I first turn on the truck in the morning, put it in gear, and lightly accelerate the truck accelerates way too fast then cuts out the power. It is enough to throw me forward or back in my seat and it honestly is frightening.

I was driving on the Freeway, when the gears on the Transmission started to idle. I was going about 65 miles per hr, when the vehicle would not move, even as a stepped on the gas pedal. I was able to put my hazard lights on and pulled over on the side shoulder of the Freeway.

Fuel system is going bad have to replace fuel injectors at 90,000 miles. Keep a check engine light on and makeing cyl 6 misfire. Replace all of the spark plugs and wires and still not fix.

Fuel injectors causing cylinder misfire - this issue can be very hazardous to the safety of driver and others. First noticed on highway going straight. Then again next morning, vehicle would not start.

This truck has the 6.2 and 8 spd trans. I start it up in the garage and let it idle down, back out of the garage into the street, put the car in drive and feel it engage, push on the gas and it doesn't move for a few seconds or now it will move but then when it tries to do the 1-2 shift it won't shift and the truck stops moving forward for a few seconds until it finally does shift.

While driving on the expressway, the drive shaft broke off. This caused the vehicle to lose control. Luckily, the vehicle was able to make it to the side shoulder without causing an accident.

On sept 21 2016 I arrived at my home. I drove up my gravel driveway in d(drive) and slowed to a stop and my truck began to roll backward under my control. I was checking on the ground for lawn damage.

I was driving on a busy street with a speed limit of around 45 MPH and my torque converter failed causing my transmission to fail and my truck to become disabled in the middle of a busy road. It blocked traffic causing a potential danger to surrounding motorists and required assistance to be moved to a nearby parkin lot and later to be towed to the Chevrolet Dealership.

Transmission failing when going up hill almost causing a wreck and leaving me stranded. Was inspected by dealership and they rebuilt the transmission problem keeps occurring. No warning lamps.

Experienced a problem with electrical theft deterrent system and it shut the vehicle off while driving. I tried to start the vehicle and nothing happened except it said theft deterrent system. I took the key out tried starting again and it turned over immediately.

For several years this truck will at times start "grade braking" on its own. In other words, at speed, ie: 55 MPH, the computer chip will tell the transmission to downshift to assist in "grade braking".

The truck was on street. Transmisionwould not engage in the. Second gear, or any gear.

Me and over 100 people I know have had issues with the 6 speed transmissions in the 2014+ silverados. Mine currently is shifting hard. All of these vehicles are experiencing way too many issues before they should (less than 150k miles).

Often, when making low speed turns the entire engine and electrical system shuts off. There is no power steering when this happens and it's difficult and dangerous to try to coast to a safe spot to try to restart the vehicle. Generally, it starts back up again within a few minutes.

I had an issue with the transfer case got stuck in 4hi and at the time it had a recall so I took it to the dealer located less than 20 miles of my house I never got over 45 MPH while stuck in 4hi dealer did recall which fixed the problem for about 7 months then when I was hauling a 18 ft car hauler with a small truck on it and I only had to haul it 30 miles to my house I was about a 1/4 mile from my driveway and the rear end popped really loud 1 time and then all of a sudden it started grinding and I shut the truck off and called roadside and had it towed to dealer and I received a call from the dealer they said that the spider gears had broken and it was going to cost 3000 for a new rear end do to the cross pin retaining bolt had broken inside the differential carrier assembly I decline the service because I didn't see why I had to pay if I still have warranty on it and I had another rear differential carrier assembly and had it installed which it worked fine except that the when the original rear end broke it said service 4WD and it still said that when I got the rear end fixed and I took to the dealer and they told me that it would cost 130 just to look at it and if they found anything wrong with it that that 130 would go toward repairs and as I said before it is still under warranty and is only got 47000 miles and I took it to a friend's shop that has a snap on computer and pulled codes and researched the codes and what I found was that the transfer case shift module re learned or reprogrammed and that would fix the issue which a lot of other 2014/15 silverado owners have had the same issue with the transfer case and relearning or reprogramming fixed the issue.

Had been complaining since 2 days after purchase that transmission was shaking/shimmying/sputtering. Was pulling onto a county highway off of a residential type road (after picking up granddaughter from school - she was in truck) and truck bogged down & wouldn't go. Intersection is at top of hill and around a corner.

Takata recall I was traveling down the highway at approximately 75 MPH when I was accelerating over an overpass the vehicle began to vibrate with an associated humming noise and after about two seconds after theach vibration started a very loud and violent banging sound came from under the vehicle that was felt from the inside.

When I put the vehicle in reverse I heard a loud clunk and the "stabilitrak" warning came on and the indicator (cursor) that tells you what gear you are in disappeared. I turned the ignition off and opened the door to reset everything. I started the car again and everything was normal.

After years of driving like a grandma, my transmission unexpectedly failed while travelling down the freeway at 70mph. There were no warning signs, no vibrations, and I changed my transmission fluid at the dealer-recommended intervals. Huge bummer, really. I use my truck for work, and because of the time of year, it is unlikely that I'll be able to get it repaired for a few weeks. Certainly not going to help my bank account either, since a new transmission from Chevrolet is $4,800 before labor and other parts.

For years I have taken my truck in to see why it is grinding when shifting and was told it was nothing. Now it got so bad my truck completely lost the ability to accelerate at all. The records I had at James Corlew have been lost since they changed to a new owner.

2015 5.3 with afm related failure / lifter collapse still within warranty by mileage (5 yrs, 100,000 miles I think), out by years in service, was diagnosed by a GM authorized dealership by a GM Master Certified Technician and under the supervision of service manager.

Rear main seal was replaced 1000 miles ago and now has to be replaced again due to the rapid shaking of the V4 cylinder deactivation(which was a terrible way to make the reliable 4.3 Lt engine unreliable)

The valve body on my transmission failed and needs to be repaired again. It was already replaced by gm, 1k miles later it failed again.

Transmission failure at 133,000 miles due to faulty tourque converter … which was replaced AFTER … i repeat AFTER… replacing all components that failed because of the faulty torque converter … so now its showing same symptoms as did before failed … only 30,000 since repairs

The torque converter with the 6L80 transmission went and destroyed the transmission in my 2015 Silverado. Which is going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix. With the 10's of thousands of people affected, Chevy should of done a recall on the torque converter and/or transmission.

Transmission shudder and hits hard at times.

I bought my 2015 Silverado Z71 LT new in 2015, after a few months I started experiencing the "chevy shake", I took it back and they replaced the tires saying its fixed. It didnt fix it, after getting ready to call and go back it stopped doing it.

I talked to a local transmission shop and he stated that the 2014-2016 Silverados are known for transmission problems even when they were new. He’s rebuilt hundreds of them and Chevrolet should have recalled and fixed them. There were no warning lights or anything through the truck.

Transmission sounds different and clunks lightly once in a while. There is a known problem w this type of transmission but GM is not accepting it as a recall concern and many dealers are ignoring repairs are needed.

An undisclosed dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall had expired and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The transmission makes a Clunking sound when i put it in Drive or Reverse gear, plus it slips between gears when i start to drive off and it hesitates to shift between gears

I have been having problems with my vehicle cutting off and I would jump start. It often gave be a theft code on the dash. Until one day it stops starting all together. Now to find out there is a recall on the electrical system I was told by my mechanic please contact me so I can get this resolved will be with out of transportation, paying insurance and a car note thank you.

Transfer case is shifting to neutral while driving

A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado seemed to be running rougher after an oil change. When inspected by dealership, Litha Chevrolet located 200 East Cypress Ave in Redding CA, they identified lower end knocking and lifter ticking noise. Also identified was PO300 was randomly missing and PO324 Knock Sensor performance. The dealership recommended total engine replacement, after reviewing the report. The 2015 Silverado is currently out of commission. It is not roadway safe. The Silverado has been serviced regularly as recommended and has not been in any collisions in the past. The truck has had one owner previously, my father, who left me the truck when he perished. I relied on the truck for daily and extended transportation for myself and my children. I have maintained excellent care of the 2015 Silverado with regular maintenance and services. There is no explanation of this issue other than it was caused by faulty equipment from the manufacturer. The transmission began slipping and failed at 106,000 miles in spite of obtaining all recommended services throughout the life of the vehicle. It failed completely while driving, which was a major safety issue. It now needs a new transmission. After searching online, I see that numerous owners have reported issues with the 2015 Chevy Silverado transmission. There were no warning lights. It began to make a noise and a shaking and failed about one week later.

My flex fuel sensor went out at 58000 miles, Transmission always giving problems on all Chevy transmission & should be on recall

4WD (transfer case) malfunctioned, locking the truck in 4WD mode and making road driving dangerous and potentially damaging to the truck. No prior issues. $500 software repair.

It started out with the transmission slipping/jerking at about 50 MPH. Then as it progressed it began whining. We were barely able to get it to a mechanic to have it looked at.

My 2015 Silverado High Country shakes at highway speeds. The dealer ship where I bought the truck keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the truck despite MULTIPLE road force balancing.

Transmission failed at 93k miles. Luckily for me, I was a month away from warranty expiring. However, so many people have ended up on the wrong side of the warranty I wanted to make sure I file a report so gm can maybe recall their weak transmissions or torque converter.

Torque converter gave out. The vehicle would make a loud vibration and cause the vehicle RPM to go up and down. I ended up having to replace the whole transmission.

I am getting a lot of clunking in a transmission when it's up shifting and down shifting. On the road under 55 MPH. Idle surges when it's switching gears.

I have about 85000 miles on my car, I was driving to work and the engine light came up. The code for the engine light came up as p06da which most likely indicates a problem with the engine oil control solenoid (based on most of the videos and reviews on the internet). Unfortunately, gm never made a recall about this!!

Transmission would not change gears. Slipping and caused high revs and sometimes would shift. They told me the hub that contained gears 4-6 was damaged.

When I purchased this vehicle I went to the dealership to complain about the transmission. When applying the gas, the car hesitated. I was told the car was "learning" and this was part of the computer system.

This is a follow up from complaint #11228752 regarding the AC issues on chevy &gmc pickups from 2014 thru 2017 year models. From research I did 98% of the failures was the condenser which also includes the transmission oil cooler. My condenser failed on the drivers side first 3 tubes below the transmission oil cooler as did my friends 2016 sierra and another friend's 2016 texas edition sierra.

Severe vibration between 65 and 80 MPH. Driver must stay below 65mph. That's dangerous on a interstate highway.

Our 2015 silverado 1500 has stuttering/ hesitation when accelerating, when turning on to a street you can not get up to speed quick enough it acts like there is something hold it back. We have replaced the spark plug and wire and all the coil packs.

When in motion harsh shifting between gears, sometimes so violent it feels like another car hit me. When accelerating the transmission seems to search for gears, and is sluggish for a high horsepower vehicle. Concerning when trying to accelerate in traffic, transmission hesitates and does not immediately apply power.

Bad lifter causes engine failure at 100,006 miles. Engine had to be replaced. Transmission has extremely hard shifts from park to reverse, and slips between 5th and 6th.

Transmission experiences a shudder that cycles every 3 seconds. The torque converter had been replaced but after 45000 miles it has returned. Dealer has recommended a new type of transmission fluid replacement.

Transmission always shifted hard and finally stopped shifting at all while in motion (backing out of our driveway). Despite taking it a chevy dealership for 3 years for maintenance, we were never told their was a known issue.

When placing the truck in reverse or drive the transmission does not immediately engage. I purchased this truck new and have had two replacement transmissions for this and other issues. Dealer service department said that general motors calls this delayed engagement.

Our transmission is slipping I took it to the dealership and had them drive it they said they were aware of the situation and said they would document the problem that gm is working on a recall notice but it would be january 2019 before anything can be done our truck is now down and we can't wait til january to get the recall notice to get it fixed we depend on this vehicle everyday to go to work now we're down one vehicle the dealership is not trying to help us get our vehicle fixed or replaced without the recall notice.

A deafening buffeting noise and vibration makes it impossible to concentrate on the road. Radio won't drown out the noise. Ear aches, head aches etc.

8-speed transmission shifts strange and clunks during slowdown/speed up. Drivetrain feels loose at times and dealer doesn't acknowledge anything iswrong. Also after taking off in morning shifting into second gear there is a hesitation and power drop.

Air conditioning not working. Blowing hot due to worn hole in hose (thousands of known issues all with exactly the same symptoms and fixes... E x a c t l y!!!!!!) called chev, the guy said NHTSA tells them what to pay for and what to recall so they're hands are clean of this issue.

Truck shakes severely when driving at speeds above 70 MPH on many different road types. This problem started not too long after I got my truck new. After complaining about it the service department said this is "standard 22 inch wheel vibration." after I had about 35000 miles on it the vibration got so bad I couldn't stand to drive on the freeway.

Is a noise from the transmission between 40 and 50 miles an hour, and is also a clunking noise when shifting in traffic.

Transmission shifting rough ,sometimes when shifting into reverse it bangs loud ,thinking the drive shaft is going to fall out, when driving the shifting of the transmission jerks nothing smooth about it shifting

Under acceleration and cruising highway speeds the vehicle vibrates and shakes. It is felt in the floorboards, seats, pedals, steering wheel and in the bed of the truck. Vehicle has been into the dealership numerous times getting alignments, wheel balances, and pico scope tests.

When shifting into gear transmission makes load noise.

So due to known issues with the yolk on the differential, the lag in the transmission shift and engine communication leads to extreme vibration at highway speeds and clunking and jerking while driving around town. So when the transmission shifts there is a delay in the motor recognizing it so it revs up some so when the transmission finally finds the gear it causes it to kick.

My truck had approximately 10 miles when I purchased it in dec 2014 and has been in the shop pretty much ever since. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle, I felt a very substantial vibration around 76+ MPH. Initially, 2 tires were replaced and balanced; that did not correct the problem.

Purchased new 2015 chevrolet silverado 1500 in january of 2016. Experienced a vibration at all speeds from the very beginning of purchase. Vibration gets worse at higher speeds.

Please see attached documents pertaining to vibration issues, emergency brake cable being cut and u-joints oozing grease. Also have numerous videos on the vibration issues like many others.

While driving at speeds starting at and above 70 MPH there is an audible noise not present at any other time or circumstance. This is also felt thru the gas petal so my concern is that there could possibly be a defect or out-of-balance component. I demonstrated this condition with the dealer's technician on this and another identical 1500 and it had the same issue.

I have a 2015 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 with 5000 miles. While driving to work ( less then 2 miles) my service 4WD system warning came up. The truck is stuck in 4WD can not switch it out.

I purchased a new 2015 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax crew cab lt from auto nation of pembroke pines florida and at about a week or two of driving it I started to notice a bump/clunk from the rear of the truck just as I would come to a complete stop. It also does it just apon a strong acceleration. The vehicle had about 500 miles on it when I started to notice this.

This is the 10th time this has happened, and 3rd time the vehicle has entered the service center. Own a 2015 chevy silverado 1500 crew cab z71, and when attempting to start the vehicle, it does not turn over, indicating that there is a theft deterrent issue. The first time the dealer was unable to replicate the issue or error code.

transmission failed at 70 500 miles

Vehicle went into neutral while driving on highway. Depressing accelerator only caused engine to wind. Pulled over into a parking lot, put vehicle into (P)ark, turned engine off, restarted ignition, and transmission began to function again.

Transmission keeps going in neutral all by itself. Me an my family has almost got hit several times

My wife came home and told me there was something wrong with our truck. I went and inspected it and found nothing. The next day I drove the truck about 30 miles up river.

Driving 25mph for 3 miles leaving my house speed limit increased to 55 and as I stepped on gas to speed up truck shuttered, shook, and ck engine light came on. #6 cylinder has no compression, found info about common chevy problem 122000 miles.

Transmission slipping, set cruise control and it would engage for some time and then disengage without warning. I followed all maintenance requirements for the transmission like flushing the transmission at the appropriate mileage.

The truck would take off on its own. The steering column would lock up, and the brakes would fail. The transmission is currently slipping an d these are just a few thing that are/have happened.

6l80 transmission has the Chevy shutter or slipping truck only has 60,000 miles not very optimistic that it will last till the 150,000 miles if it’s already acting up and I can hear metal slapping when shifting at various speeds and stopping speeds

Driving down the road and transmission gave out

The transmission has issues shifting into 3rd gear and then doesn't want to shift into 4th gear.

Truck has 130k miles. Never used for towing or rough driving. Transmission is going bad.

Wheels locked up. Garage states it is 4 wheel drive transfer case. Garage checked with gm for a recall and this issue is on recall for this type/year of truck but VIN is not included in the recall.

Rpms were rising above 6,000 without any power. Randomly while on highway, truck only had 112,000 miles on it and had to have a new transmission put in. And has had many other issues such as the lifters closing while on the highway and brake issues.

The truck and transmission shift very hard, slip or can't find its home. The problem is the worst between park and reverse, and 1st and 2nd gear around 20mph. I have taken it in multiple times times and told everything is operating to spec.

Transmission doesn't shift right between 2 and 3 and on down shifting. Never drove a vehicle that does this. Was told nothing is wrong with the trans.

Truck shakes at speeds at 55 to 65 miles per hour.

Transmission is lurching if driving 50 MPH then slow down to 35 MPH when you go to speed back up it lurches. Complained to chevrolet several times they say cannot find anything wrong.

I park in a 5 level parking garage. Several months ago, I was leaving when I came up to the ramp to the next lower level. I let off on the accelerator before I went from flat to lowering ramp.

Transmission cannot find gears when coasting or slowing down and then hitting accelerator. Very dangerous when it hesitates for seconds before finding the right gear and going, or it stays in too high of a gear instead of downshifting to accelerate and rattles. Happens every time I drive the truck, and many other people have the same issue.
