2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Engine Problems

AFM/DFM on my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT had to lifters collapse without warning and no engine light was hole I had my 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son in the vehicle while I was driving. My kids got scared and I had to react quick and go into a drive way.

86K miles smelled gas. Dealer replaced one fuel injector on the 6 cylinder rail. At 108K miles, catastrophic engine failure caused by misfire in the #6 cylinder.

I was driving my truck on a interstate when the torque converter broken and forced me to stop on a "No parking" area, The cars couldn't see me until I got really close to my car and almost caused an accident, the sheriff had to intervene and signal that there was a car stopped on the interstate, it wasn't the first time that it happened, it happened 5 times since I got the truck( I have it for 5 months) I already fixed it and replaced the torque converter but it's not safe to be on the side of the road every month, it need to be fixed because it can cause many accidents

I bought this truck a little over a year ago. Mileage 89,392. 2 weeks later the truck started to run poorly, shaking badly, misfiring.

While driving, the engine suddenly stalled forcing me to take evasive action to exit the roadway. After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, I was informed the CP4 fuel pump had failed. The cost of the repairs totaled $13,296.39, plus towing.

While driving at 55-60 mph on Saturday, [XXX], the vehicle made a distinct engine sound and lost power, but continued to run with a pronounced misfire, and a ‘check engine’ light came on. Our safety was put at risk because we were merging into high speed traffic and I had to abruptly slow and move as far out of the travel lane as possible. I had the vehicle towed to Champion Chevrolet in Reno on Wednesday October 16 for evaluation. The mileage in was 44,252. I was told that the camshaft and some lifters had failed, and I opted to have the engine replaced with a remanufactured unit at the total cost to me of $14,660. I picked the vehicle up on 10/28/2024 with 44,259 odometer miles. I have since learned on the internet that this particular ‘Active Fuel Management (AFM)’ failure is known to Chevrolet corporate office and is the subject of a class action lawsuit against Chevrolet. I have also learned that there is the possibility of repayment to affected owners in early 2025. I am submitting this letter to bring my situation to your attention so that I am included in any list of owners that may be reimbursed as a result of this known engine issue. Knocking noise in the engine , took it to the mechanic and he stated lifter failer

Collapsed lifter on driver side. Lifters, valve cover gasket, head bolts valve cover gasket oil coolant fuel pipes need replacing. Dealer confirmed this issue and has inspected.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,186.

My radiator is leaking with only 48000 miles on it. There has been a recall on the model years prior to and after mine, for the same problem. A radiator should not have cracks caused from a thermostat problem in this short amount of miles.

The weld on the air conditioning condeser has broken on the drivers side. This is causing the freon to leak out of the vehicle. This causes extremely high temperatures in the vehicle, and also causes the windows to fog up.

My truck is 3 years old I was driving my vehicle in florida and my air conditioner went out. The dealership stated the part was made poorly and my children that are 2 and 6 months had to drive in the heat with no air due to it going out and them not being able to fix in 48 hours.

Hello just wanted share this about my 2015 chevrolet silverado my started making a strange knock sound sqealing noise on engine so took it to chevrolet dealer to have it ckecked out they called me and told that it had exhaust manifold bolts broke off in engine block it will cost $4000 dollars to repair I feel that is a gm manufacture issue even my extended warranty will not cover this problem I feel that shouldn't pay someone needs to investigate why these bolts broke off

Was driving on freeway,was changing lanes so I stepped on the gas to switch lanes and then check engine started flashing and stabilitrak active light came on. Slowed down and felt the truck with some unusual shaking, when I got off the freeway and into the street as soon as I stopped it felt like the engine wanted to shut off but it did not,truck was shaking at every stop I made.

Air condition coil leak which is a common problem but no recall on silverado, but on tahoe. This is the same part and same issue, so why is there not a recall on the silverado? I would like credit for the $1300 replacement cost I paid.

The engine has a ticking noise like a lifter out of adjustment. I'm told this is normal its a ticking fuel pump for the fuel injectors. I think gm is better than that and can figure out how to quite it down.

Camshaft lifter failure (collapsed / stuck), #1 cylinder after engine was idle for ~5 minutes. Vehicle had 9701 miles at time of incident. This appears to be a relatively common issues with regards to the active fuel management systems on late model gm vehicles equipped with this technology.

The 6.2L AFM DOD caused the lifter failure in #7 which destroyed my motor causing $10,000 in damages. Junk lifters. Only way to fix is get rid of afm dod.

There a recall (14858) for specific problem with the fuel pump. I have the exact problem as the recall but my VIN is not in the database.

Radiator is cracked. Same problem and same model radiator as is in the 2014 model of same vehicle. There is a recall for the same problem in a 2014 model but not 2015, like my vehicle.

Air conditoner isnt working there is many complaits for cracked lines and faulty brackets

My truck has a stuck lifter

Engine power reduced error pops up and and basically kills any ability to accelerate. This has happened multiple times including twice at interstate speed and few times under 45mph. If this were to happen while crossing an intersection, railroad, etc., the vehicle would be a sitting duck.

L86 engine goes through 1 quart of oil every 5000 miles. The truck only has 10k miles. It has used oil since day one.
