2017 chevy malibu repetively gets reduced power light. I drive highway at 65-80mph and the car gets that reduced power light and car slows to 20 MPH and won't accelerate past 20mph. It has happened at least 8 times.

Engine power reduced while driving on i83 on my way to work. I was driving at 65mph and it was reduced to 25mph. The check engine light is on.

The warning light comes on and off and is showing (P0498/P0449) which is the evaporative emission system vent control electrical circuit signal has low voltage for a predetermined period of time. Its calling to replace the evaporative emissions canister vent solenoid and I have seen 3 vehicles the same as mine needed the same thing fixed.

I tried to shift the car from drive to park but a message appeared saying I needed to put the car in park. The lights and radio were still on and I could not get the message to disappear even after several attempts to start/restart the car and moving through the gear shift. I will be taking the car to a dealership asap. There wasn’t any prior error or problem before this message started appearing. After numerous attempts “park” is recognized and the car shuts off completely.

A "Shift to Park" message occasionally appears on the dash of my 2017 Chevy Malibu. I currently have 56570 miles on this vehicle. This is the second time that this issue has occurred in this vehicle.

I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LT for my son Memorial Day weekend in 2019. The first night we got the vehicle home it rained overnight. We checked the trunk and found water in the trunk.

The vehicle has just over 51,000 miles on it. When shifted to park and turned off, it gives an error message "shift to park" and will not shut all the way off. This requires the car to be restarted, shifted out of park and back into park and shut down again, often multiple times.

My car shut off when I stopped at a blinking traffic light (normal). There was a higher than normal amount of traffic on the route I was waiting to turn onto. So the car remained off for close to 5 minutes.

When shifting the car into park the vehicle fails to detect when the gear selector has been shifted into Park. I am not able to shut off the vehicle. This is endangering my safety by having to spend extra time maneuvering the shifter in order to be able to turn the car off.

This issue has happened twice. The first time it happened it was in motion on the highway and a message appeared on the dashboard, "engine power is reduced." it began deaccelerating from 75 MPH to 20 MPH. I had to quickly pull over the car to the side of the highway and I cut the car off.

I JUST SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS ISSUE, IT HAS HAPPENED MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT SO I'M SUBMITTING AGAIN. I HAVE TOLD PEOPLE AT CHEVY ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TWICE, WHEN I WENT IN FOR OIL CHANGES/MAINTENANCE. I HAVE ONLY GONE TO CHEVY FOR ANY TYPE OF MAINTENANCE BECAUSE I WANT MY CAR TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY PEOPLE THAT SHOULD KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. THAT'S WHY I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW, TAKEN THE BEST CARE OF IT, ONLY TAKEN IT TO CHEVY EVEN THOUGH IT'S OBVIOUSLY MORE EXPENSIVE, BUT STILL NO ONE HAS HELPED ME WITH THIS PROBLEM OR EXPLAINED WHY IT'S HAPPENING. I DO COMMUTE ABOUT 70 MILES ROUND TRIP FOR WORK EACH DAY (MONDAY-FRIDAY), SO I USE MY CAR QUITE A BIT, BUT LIKE I MENTIONED I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND TAKE THE BEST CARE OF IT. I DO NOT CUT ANY CORNERS BECAUSE I DO DRIVE IT A LOT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, HAD A TICKET, I DRIVE VERY SAFELY. YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING AND PULLED UP TO A RED LIGHT. THE CAR SHUT UP AS NORMAL FOR THE ENERGY SAVER FEATURE, BUT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CARE WOULD NOT MOVE. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR 10 MINUTES AND BACK ON AND THE RADIO WORKED AGAIN LIKE NORMAL.

When it rains, the floor mats get wet under the brake and accelerator. It happens every time it rains; they fixed the issue with the rain leaking in the trunk but not with the rain leaking inside the car.

Bought the car in 2017 with 22k miles on it, and now a year and a half later with 60k miles on it there are metal shavings in the transmission and I have to get it either completely rebuilt or replaced. It has been having issues with the transmission since I bought it, but every shop I took it to told me not to worry because 'all cars skip like this'.

When stopped at a stop light an electric motor kicks in for about 30 second and then the engine motor restarts making the car what to jump forward. If the driver has only a light foot on the break petal he/she could hit the car in front. I have notified both me dealer and gm as I believe this to be a safety issue in it design.

My vehicle has recently displayed a message telling me to “Shift to Park,” even though the vehicle is in park. On 10/06/2021, twice it took 15 times shifting to get the car to go into park. Now, it does it every time I put the car into park.

While parking, a "park to shift" warning comes on and will not turn off unless I jiggle the shifter or shift through several times. Lights and radio will not turn off until warning goes away.

It takes a while for the car to accelerate on highways or streets. With my foot to the floor of the accelerator, it gets to 20 MPH in about 15-20 seconds which prevents any pickup. Only thing that helps the pickup is when I use octane booster in the tank and it'll drive as it should with pickup for a very short period (5 miles) otherwise the acceleration is extremely laggy with no pickup.

On push to start ignition, ocassionally when stopping and placing vehicle in park and then pressing stop on ignition button, a warning message pops up to shif to park.
