2017 Chevrolet Malibu Electrical Problems

I am writing to report a persistent issue with my Chevy Malibu, specifically related to the Stabilitrak system. The Stabilitrak light intermittently flickers on and off while driving, which raises significant safety concerns. This malfunction has been ongoing, and despite efforts to diagnose the problem, my local auto mechanic has been unable to pinpoint the exact cause.

Rear high mount brake light is loose allowing water to leak I. And around the electrical connections, rear speakers in vehicle have moisture around them, potentially causingin a short and fire hazard

On numerous occasions while driving on highway my dashboard will display reduced engine power and engine light comes on. My traction control light also comes on. Car loses power quickly and will not accelerate.

the secondary battery that sits in the trunk, above the back driver side tire had a short. the cable bunt out and my car reduced speed and it had me pull over. I did not know this is what had happened until I drove it again and I could no longer start it.

After coming to a complete stop and moving the shifter into Park, a message on screen in my car displays SHIFT TO PARK, while the icon in the bottom right of the screen clearly displays the car is already in park. This has been happening consistently over the last few days.

Engine shuts off while driving and sometimes will not restart. This is not the regular start/stop functionality. My car shuts of when it should not and creates a crash hazard.

So basically when I'm driving it automatically I don't know where says engine power reduce which cuts the power down when you're on the highway and see if you're doing 70 miles per hour and all of a sudden that light comes on your check engine light comes on and it reduces the strength of the vehicle so ithe vehicle so we can cause multiple accidents

I have Taken my car back and forth to the dealer so many times since ive had the 2017 Chevy malibu LT my car lost power once before and now it feels like it wants to lose power again my engine make this off noise it rides rough I have no warning lights on They told me it could be a computer problem and they could not fix it and the all of a sudden it was okay then my gas is running out quick and engine oil and I have a burning smell but they keep saying nothing is wrong it jerks when I shift gears sometimes and it makes a loud noise and no hazards light are on I feel like they are clearing codes and trying to sell me a new car because they keep telling me to trade it in they will buy it back Ive told them I feel like me and my child safety is at risk because I could be driveing and my car can shut down on me and get in a real bad accident im still making payments on the car and dont wanna get another loan for me to pay out more money for another car Ive had car in shop more than Ive drive it I got car with 34,000 miles and it has 54,000 now no car should have all these issues with these miles I have a 6 year old that rides in this car and something gotta be done this putting out lifes at risk

The vehicle constantly reduces speed when there are no issues with weather or any other issues on the road. This issues can potentially be fatal. I have had it checked and the diagnostic machine says it’s sensor issue that was reported for recall but my car was not part of the said recall.

On January 2022, Wednesday the 19th. My husband, myself and our two daughters 12 & 4 are on the Northbound freeway 99 in the far-right lane and the car pops up with the warning “Engine Power Reduce” and then proceeded to decline in speed from 70 MPH to 15 MPH almost instantly almost causing an accident. WE all were so shaken up!

Driving at highway speeds car suddenly slowed down and reduced engine power popped up on the screen. The car wouldn't accelerate more than 20 MPH. Luckily I was near the shoulder, but if I wasn't I could've easily gotten into an accident.

The vehicles brakes keeps popping where it makes it very hard to stop. Also the car is dying when the car does come to a stop so that you have to put it in park and start it again. The back glass is leaking.

Car shuts off completely while driving-the car goes dead de-energized completely. All controls would not work just locked up on me. I had to have the unit towed twice, we switched the battery in the key fob and the car ended up starting, however 2 weeks later it died again while driving, I nearly had an accident again!!

My 2017 chevrolet malibu exploded and caught fire after it had been parked for hours on the street. It started from under the hood and melted the passenger side of the dashboard. Mechanical/electrical defect from the engine of the car.

I purchased the vehicle in 2018 with 20,000 miles on it. My check engine light has been on more than 7 times in the past 2 years. I had to have the fuel injector worked on, sometimes it won't shift completely into park, I had it decrease in speed from 70 on the highway to no more than 20 MPH with over $400 in repairs just that time.

On 03/10/21, I was driving north on a busy highway. I approached the stop light and reduced speed. I came to a full stop and the car shut off completely.

Well coming to a stop at a red light the vehicle shuts off with no power. This happened to me multiple time with the car having no power that I can't even put my emergency lights on. Prior to this my vehicle noted "service stability" on dash board and that went away.

While dropping off my children at school the car came to a complete stop and went into auto stop. When releasing the peddle so the car could turn back on the whole dash board and the radio screen completely cut off and when the car turned off it all switched back on. The dash screen flagged and said steering assistant is reduced drive with care.

Vehicle has multiple times a day "reduced engine power" error displayed and will suddenly stall anywhere in traffic causing dangerous situations. People who not familiar with this. Will have to stop on the side of the road and exit the vehicle to check what is wrong and risk possibly beeing hit and killeother d by another vehicle.

My 2017 malibu had a loss of engine power, it happened while on vacation. While in traffic on a dark curvy road, there was a sudden loss of power, the car would not accelerate and the engine light was on as well as a message indicating loss of engine power. Last year I started getting the dreaded shift to park issue. Takes usually about 30 seconds to realize its in park, even though the dashboard days its in park. WHY is there no recall? I see hundreds of thousands of complaints for this. Plus im constantly getting the P1101 code. I know this is a common issue with this car for the dirty throttle body or MAF sensor. Why isnt this under recall? I dont have the money to pay for repairs that the dealership should be recalling. The shift to park issue is so common. This is getting ridiculous. Plus the code. Please fix this ASAP.

When I accelerate and try to stop brakes goes down to the floor. I’ve had my rotors. Brakes changed and it’s impossible to stop at times. Purchase vehicle. 2018 and the check engine light came on shortly after I purchased it. It’s been on. I’ve got diagnostics. It’s unknown why! Tire sensors has been changed, including with new tires and none of them work and the airbag light is illuminated. I am concerned about my safety in this vehicle. I reported many times and I’m unaware of any recalls. Please help.

Okay so my car had 2 recalls but the they were not repaired the same problem reoccurred . Which was the car engine not turning on and electrical problems etc. I don’t really know how to explain it but yes it’s having the same problems .

Currently I am having issues putting my car in park. Even when it shows that it is parked there is an “Action Required” that pops up saying “Shift to Park”. This has been happening all week and as I am able to toggle the shift stick it is no longer allowing me to which leaves my car somewhat on when I leave.

The day I bought the vehicle in 2019 the engine light came on, I took the car back to the dealership and was told they couldn’t do anything. I took it to them and the shop here in town and I was told by both shops on multiple occasions they could not fix any of the issues. They treated me like I’m just a paycheck for them.

Driver door will not unlock from outside of car when car is sitting out in the heat and sun. Yes car Is available for inspection If I need to get in car while out somewhere I can’t in a hurry. I went to dealership in November 2022 when it happened 3 times it was hot outside.

Battery charging system is faulty. Drains battery and alternator shuts off. Car and other components shut off.

Start and stop function at a stop failed car turns off but when releasing the brakes car doesn't turn back on everything is intermittent and can't reproduce check engine code when car goes in to fix the problem when I put it on L gear so the start and stop function won't try to engage but it doesn't sense its on L gear also back up camera not longer work as well as a.c blower or heater doesn't kick on a lot of electrical problems like if the brain is slowly dropping everything it knows and forgetting how to function also engine reduce and ABS light as well as a lot of oil cusumption with no leaks a lot of complaints on these cars and you tube videos why hasn't this been recalled please investigate in an honest investigation please.

Was driving to work at 5:00 am today and merged onto a busy highway. After accelerating to 60 MPH, there was a message that appear on my dashboard that read engine power reduced. It was not safe traveling at the speed that I was.

There needs to be a recall on the third brake light on the Chevy Malibu. Everyone that I speak with that has a Malibu has had to replace the third brake light because of it breaking and when it rains water leaks into the car.

THE 2017 MALIBU GIVES A MESSAGE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN "PARK," WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK. THE DISPLAY SCREEN STAYS LIT UP TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. YOU CANNOT LOCK THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS WENT ON FOR 15 ABOUT MINUTES. AFTER MOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER BACK & FORTH, THE ERROR MESSAGE FINALLY GOES OFF. ITS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE, IF YOU CANT LOCK & SECURE THE CAR.

WHEN I GET TO A STOP LIGHT THE AUTO STOP ACTIVATES. WHEN THE CAR GOES TO TURN BACK ON IT TRIPS UP AND DIES COMPLETELY. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND THE CAR WON'T TURN BACK ON. I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES UNTIL THE CAR WILL TURN ON AGAIN. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM AT A RED LIGHT FOR LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS.

WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD, THE CAR FLASHED 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER' AND STOPPED WORKING. I DID NOT LOSE ELECTRICAL POWER, BUT THE GAS PEDAL AND GEAR SHIFT FAILED TO WORK. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. SOME GOOD SAMARITANS HELPED PUSHED ME INTO THE MIDDLE LANE WHILE I CALLED A TOW TRUCK. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, MY CAR RESTARTED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I DROVE A FEW MILES TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE A DEFINITE FIX, INSTEAD THEY SAID THERE'S SOME CORROSION AROUND THE BATTERY. WHEN PUTTING GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK A MESSAGE STATES THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF. HAVE TO PLAY WITH SHIFT LEVER TO GET IT TO RESPOND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE LOTS OF POSTS ON FORUMS OF THIS PROBLEM THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS 2 -3 TIMES A WEEK. *TR

RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, WHEN I LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE CAR SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES, THREE WITHIN THE LAST WEEK. I CAN START TO AGAIN, ALSO LOOSE ALL VOLUME TO TURN SIGNALS AND RADIO. *TR

INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN SHIFTED INTO PARK AND TURNED OFF A MESSAGE ON THE DRIVER CONTROL SCREEN STATES TO SHIFT TO PARK AND WILL LEAVE THE CAR BATTERY ON AND WILL BEEP THE DOORS ARE OPEN. HAPPENS 70 PERCENT OF THE TIME. TYPICALLY TO GET THE MESSAGE TO GO AWAY I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR ON AND SHIFT OUT OF PARK, SHIFT BACK INTO PARK AND TURN OFF AGAIN SOMETIMES I HAVE TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES. *TR

WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE HAVING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IT DISPLAYS A MESSAGE SAYING 'SHIFT TO PARK'. IT WILL NOT LET YOU TURN OFF THE CAR. I HAVE TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO 'RESTART THE ENGINE' THEN SLAM IT INTO PARK. IT TYPICALLY TAKES 3 REPEATS OF THIS BEFORE THE CAR FINALLY ALLOWS ME TO SHUT IT OFF. IT'S FRUSTRATING, TIME CONSUMING AND NOISY AS IF YOU DO NOT SEE THE MESSAGE AND GO TO OPEN THE DOOR, IT BEEPS NOISILY NOTIFYING YOU THAT THE CAR IS NOT OFF. APPARENTLY QUITE A FEW DRIVERS HAVE THIS ISSUE, AS I HAVE READ THE COMPLAINTS LISTED. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME AT REPAIR COSTS OF OVER $700 TO FIX THIS. THIS SEEMS UNFAIR SINCE CLEARLY IT IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. *TR

EVERYT I PUT MY CAR IN PARK I GET AN ERROR STATING SHIFT TO PARK AND THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE CAR IS IN PARK WHEN I'M TRYING TO TURN THE CAR OFF. TOOK MY CAR TO CHEVY AND THERE IS SOME FAULTY PAPER WORK . I SIGNED OFF ON ONE CONTRACT THEN I WAS CALLED IN AND WAS TOLD SOME OF MY SIGNATURE DIDNT DO THROUGH AND NOW ITS SHOWING I CANCELED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH I NEVER DID. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK. THEY REVISED MY ORIGINAL CONTRACT WITH GOING OVER THE NEW CONTRACT. NOW IM STUCK WITH AN EXPENSIVE BILL FOR REPAIR BECAUSE I ASSUMED I WAS SIGNING THE SAME CONTRACT. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST FOR REPAIR. ITHIS IS NOT A USER ISSUE THIS IS A GM ISSUE.

IN AUGUST OF 2019 MY CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AT NIGHT WHERE IT WAS THERE FOR A WEEK THIS VISIT WAS FOR THE GEAR SHIFT TO BE REPLACED. OCTOBER 2019 MY CAR START STOP FEATURE MADE MY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR MORNING TRAFFIC THIS TRIP WAS SAID TO BE THE CHARGING SYSTEM AND THE BATTERY. IN JANUARY 2020 I STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE CAR JUST STOPPING THIS TIME IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL MODULE I ALSO HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND A ALL WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND I PICKED UP MY CAR AND 10 DAYS LATER MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS THEY SAY WE FIXED IT. 48 HOURS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON. I WAS TOLD THAT WE JUST CLEARED THE ENGINE LIGHT IN HOPE'S THAT WOULD JUST FIX THE PROBLEM SO NOW 2 AND HALF WEEKS LATER THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR. THEY HAVE NO CLUE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING.

THE CAR KEEPS SAYING SHIFT TO PARK, HAD TO PUT IN REVERSE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT DOESN'T SAY THIS. TOOK IT TO DEALER JEFF SMITT. THEY DID DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID IT WAS SHIFT HARNESS. COST 237.94 TWO DAYS LATER CAR CONTINUES TO SAY SHIFT TO PARK. TOOK BACK TO DEALER, THEY NOW SAY WHOLE HARNESS NEEDS REPLACED. $312. I HAVE NOT PAID IT. DOING RESEARCH LOOKED ON INTERNET AND SEE SEVERAL OTHERS ARE HAVING THE EXACT ISSUE WITH THE MALIBU. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS. I WORKED FOR GENERAL MOTORS FOR 14 YEARS. THIS IS A PROBLEM GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, NOT THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE THEM BUSINESS. IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ASAP

HYBRID BATTERY CORROSION DUE TO FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT LETTING WATER INTRUDE INTO TRUNK. I WAS OUT OF COUNTRY FOR MOST OF 2019 AND WHEN I RETURNED I WENT THROUGH MAIL AND DISCOVERED A LETTER FROM GM STATING THAT WATER CAN GET INTO TRUNK AND CABIN FROM A CHMSL. I CHECKED MY TRUNK AND IT WAS FULL OF WATER AND METAL ITEMS ARE AND WERE OXIDIZED AS WELL AS THE HYBRID BATTERY IN THE TRUNK. THIS CORROSION WILL NOT STOP ONCE ESTABLISHED ESPECIALLY WITH CHARGED ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. AND PREMATURELY SHORTENING THE LIFE OF THE HYBRID BATTERY DUE TO POOR QUALITY AND DEFECTIVE NUTS USED TO SECURE THE CHMSL.

SIDE SENSOR DETECTION SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. A WARNING LIGHT COMES ON EACH TIME THE CAR IS TURNED ON.

AT LESS THAN 32K MILES I"VE HAD ISSUE WITH THE SHIFT TO PARK INDICATOR, THE RADIO RANDOM ON AND OFF REGARDLESS IF CAR IS RUNNING OR PARKED AND OFF AND NOW MULTIPLE INDICATORS FOR AN EMISSION ISSUE CAR WILL SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER OR STOP. I HAVE TAKEN CARE FOR SERVICE ON REGULAR BASIS AND HAVE HAD SERVICE REPAIRS DONE TWICE TO SUPPOSEDLY FIX COMPUTER BOARD. UNFORTUNATELY, SERVICE EITHER SAYS THEY HAVE REST IT OR CAN'T FIND ISSUES I DESCRIBE. I WILL PARK THE CAR AND LET GM HAVE IT BEFORE I GET KILLED IN TRAFFIC!!!!

The car will not start sometimes. Yesterday the lights and radio came on randomly while sitting in the garage with the fob in the house. Randomly shuts down while driving.

TWO TIMES IN 24 MONTHS AND APPROXIMATELY 62,000 MILES THE PRIMARY 12 VOLT BATTERY HAS FAILED. THIS FAILURE CAUSES THE TRUNK LOCK TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE TRUNK CANNOT BE ACCESSED IN THIS SITUATION. BECAUSE THE TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE FAILED 12 VOLT BATTERY. ALSO THERE IS NO WAY TO FOLD THE REAR SEAT BACKS AS THE RELEASE LEVERS ARE LOCATED IN THE TRUNK. THIS SITUATION IS BOTH A SAFETY DANGEROUS HAZARD AND INCONVENIENCE. BOTH OF THESE OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE.

ENGINE POWER REDUCED. ENGINE POWER REDUCED. AT FIRST IT SEEMED TO HAPPEN WHEN IT WAS RAINING, BUT ON DRY DAYS NO PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, AND DISAPPEARS A FEW HOURS LATER. THE DEALERSHIP ACTS AS IF THEY CAN'T TELL YOU ANYTHING ONCE THE WARNING AND ENGINE LIGHT TURN OFF. LATELY IT'S BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY, SO I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT READ. ERROR CODES P2138 AND P2127, BOTH REFERENCING THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY COMPLAINT I SEE ON HERE. I ALSO HAVE READ ABOUT LAW SUITS BEING FILED REGARDING THIS AS WELL.

Within 1 year I bought brand new hybrid malibu car from chevy dealer, I had experienced dead 12v battery. Dealer replaced the battery which I paid even though I thought it should be within warranty. Last night I experienced 3rd dead battery again after I parked the car for 7 hrs office work.

Engine light on continually and never went off; I drove to dealer who said the gas cap area of fuel line was leaking; needs to be replaced they said and tried to order it from gm but they do not have the part; they ordered the part and cannot tell me when it is coming. They could not advise me on the safety of this condition. I know someone who had a similar problem with their model car.

The car intermittently does not recognize when the vehicle is shifted into park. I will place the car into park, try to turn off the car, and the monitor will display "shift car into park". This hinders me from turning the vehicle off and I'll spend time having to shift the car into different gears to get it to recognize that it's in park.

My brake boosters went out and I paid 700 now something odd is happening to my brakes with the air or pressure. Should this whole car be recalled? My electrics blinked out the day I got the car and the salesman said ' it happens sometimes now I have to replace a battery for290 on a car I have less than 2 years??

Once the car is shifted to park, sometimes the car will not power down due to an error message "shift to park." 2. MPG is supposed to be about 30 miles per gallon however I am only getting about 20mpg.

I am getting a message 'shift to park'. The message is intermittent. It's been going on for weeks.

Warning message says 'shift into park' & even though engine shuts off, the radio (& I'm assuming battery) doesn't. Car won't lock because of it. Has required turning car back on & off as many as 8 times, and/or moving forward or backwards numerous times.

Vehicle went into 'engine power decreased' unable to accelerate with the check engine light on as well as throttle sensor on. Took to dealer who checked all of the diagnostic codes and said it was fully operational. Again drove for about 1 month and same thing happened.

Trunk leaks when it rains. The plastic between the back window and ceiling lets water in when it rains. It allows moisture to get into the vehicle, which means in the winter ice forms on the inside of the windshield as well as the outside.

After trip of a few miles and after turning off the start/stop(keyless) switch, the screen messaged that the remote key was not detected, even though it was still in the car. Neither remote keys would not perform any function nor would manually pushing door locks or switch. After about 20 minutes remote key operation returned.this happened again about 2 weeks later.

Check engine light is on I have taken it to dealership and it has been diagnosed and fixed it is the battery modulater sensor (if I spelled it right) the same code comes up. Dealership states its a manufacturer issue or system issue and a fix is being worked on its been a couple of months all they can do is reset the sensor but it keeps coming on.

The car sometimes has a huge delay after you push the start button on dash to actually start, and being a hybrid the car shakes bad when engine starts, it's sounda like crap to be honest. I've got 12k miles on it and it's been serviced at chevy only, and the [xxx] thing has a rattle in the dash they 'can't figure out' and they don't hear any abnormal engine noise.

The shift to park sensor will become stuck and not register that the car is in park causing the battery to drain.

We own a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu plagued with the "Shift to Park" issue. I have read numerous articles regarding this issue and they reference a recall on this problem. However, I have been unsuccessful locating this document.

The infotainment system cycles and will change the radio, activate the GPS anything that can be controlled through the infotainment system, it also changes the instrument cluster at times; the lane detection, distance alarm all the features, even the language and MPH to KPH.

Ice and sludge accumulated and froze causing the CAC system to fail resulting in engine issues, performance loss this was caused from GM poor design of a shield that they are aware of. GM knows that this can happen and have now designed a new shield to prevent this from happening but it is at the owner’s expense to fix.

Gas pedal locked up can’t accelerate

The car continues to say "shift to park" when the car is already in park and its becoming a severe problem. Something is wrong with the shift stick

Shift to park warning continues to come on daily when I go to put my car in park. I have to fidget with the shifter to get the computer to recognize that my car is in park and the car will then shut off. Recently I was stopped at a red light, tried to accelerate at the green light and my car completely shut off, while I was still in drive.

Reduce Power Engine appears on the dash board. The car starts slowing down, I can’t speed up, I Have to park on the side of the heavy traffic in the Highway. I have to wait around 5 minutes and then drive.

Back left door will not open, from inside or outside. Has happen before and then will open a few days later. this time it’s been a week.

Driving down highway slowed down brake assist kicked in for no reason I was stuck in traffic not moving but maybe 2 MPH brakes locked up got super hard codes read brake booster and vacuum pump. Screen went black “parking assist off” came on dashboard earlier that morning but nothing seemed to be wrong with the car. Thank God I wasn’t going faster I could have died!

Car looses power randomly “engine power reduced” comes up on the dash screen have to pull over shit car off and then turn back on to reset.

After stopping and shifting to park and pushing the "Ignition Button". The button indicator light shows car is not in "park". The dash indicator also states "Shift To Park" even though it is in park.

Engine Power is Reduced

OBD2 codes ran on vehicle show: P0138 ("O2 sensor circuit High voltage bank 1 sensor 2") P013E (unknown) P2138 ("Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor Switch D/E Voltage Correlation") Vehicle is getting poor fuel mileage and has a drastic delay in acceleration after pressing the gas pedal, putting driver in immediate danger in traffic.

Throttle pedal sensor went out while driving on highway and wouldn't let accelerate and I just bought the car in october

When I shift to park and attempt to turn the vehicle off a warning comes up telling me to put the car in park and I then have to turn the vehicle back on move the shifter down to drive and slowly move through each gear until the parking sensor will recognize the shifter is in park this has also happens to other people I have to allied to with the same model

Vehicle has several recalls

During the cold the car will not turn on, will show a stabilitrak problem and the transmission light turns on. When it is on and you drive it, it will automatically turn off and stay off at a red light or whenever you press the brake. I have two other friends who own the same car and it does the same , which makes me assume a manufacturer problem of cars not turning on in the cold/ sensor issue.

On nov 12,2019 I was driving in glen burnie maryland in a street , coming to a stop light I stop and the car turned off, I turn it on again and got on the hwy I-97 north came off ramp. Where I stop on red light the car turned off again. But this time.

Shift to park error when parking vehicle. Vehicle is placed in park and information center indicates it is not in park. Then I am unable to set vehicle security system and also car doors will not lock.

Vehicle does not register that it has been shifted to park. When you stop and shift it to park and then turn the vehicle off, it will come up with a warning to "shift to park". If you ignore the warning, and try to open the doors, it starts to honk at you.

The car on a irregular but basis but at inconvenient times will not start with push button start. Error message is "no remote detected" the internet tells me the a TSB 197955 was issued but I can get access to the TSB..

When parking and turning car off it show a message " shift to park" and car is parked, due to this the music keeps playing unless we manually turn off and when we step out of the car it will beep as if car isn't off.

I started having issues with my 2017 chevy malibu a little over a month ago. I was driving in the city and the engine light came on and a warning for engine power reduced came on. Car would not go over 30 miles and hour.

While driving the vehicle I came to a complete stop while waiting to make a left turn on a busy city street and the vehicle shut off therefore remaining in the intersection from on coming traffic, in other terms the vehicle died on me. Takata recall: just purchased a used 2017 malibu premier in july 2018 with 26,000 miles on it and it is hesitating to start every morning. Each initial start there after the car starts right up after I've put 3000 miles on the car the engine jumps while holding break.
