Owner Complaints (10)
You purchased a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala that had undisclosed accident damage and experienced multiple failures shortly after purchase, including burst transmission cooler lines and air conditioning system issues. The airbag warning light came on, and the dealership initially fixed bad connectors, but the light returned. You discovered the dealership installed Ford airbags in your Chevrolet instead of proper Chevy parts, and the warning light has come on again. The airbag system may need proper diagnosis and replacement of the correct manufacturer airbags to ensure the safety feature works as designed.

While driving at 45 mph, your accelerator pedal stopped responding and the vehicle wouldn't accelerate even though you pressed it. No warning lights came on. A mechanic and dealer both diagnosed a transmission failure. This happened at 98,000 miles.

Your transmission unexpectedly and repeatedly shifts itself into Park while you're driving or at a stop, then shifts back to your selected gear — sometimes happening 3-5 times in a row. This causes sudden drops in speed (from 65 MPH down to 40 MPH) and can make it dangerous to merge on highways, navigate hills, or turn at intersections. The problem may be related to a faulty transmission speed sensor or transmission control issue, though no warning lights appear and your dealer hasn't been able to diagnose it yet. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the transmission control system, replacing the speed sensor, or servicing the transmission.

While driving, your car suddenly jerked and multiple warning lights came on at once (StabiliTrak, ABS, and Check Engine). As you arrived at work, the engine lost all power while the dashboard displayed an action required message, causing your brakes and steering to become stiff and difficult to control. After regaining power 10 minutes later, the engine shut down again while you were driving on the highway. This likely involves a serious electrical or engine control issue that needs immediate diagnosis to restore safe steering and braking function.

Your car hesitates and jerks when you press the accelerator pedal at various speeds, and you hear an abnormal humming sound. The check engine light is on, and when you put the car in reverse, it won't accelerate even when you press the pedal. A mechanic diagnosed this as transmission failure. The transmission may need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Your transmission has shifting problems that started when you bought the car in 2018. Your car sometimes gets stuck in gear and won't accelerate smoothly, and this happens without warning at different times while driving. You've already paid for shifter repairs, but the problem continues. The dealer can diagnose it, but testing costs over $1,500.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Premier Impala that has started skipping gears at 1st and 2nd while driving. The vehicle shudders when it changes gears. Took vehicle to dealer who informed me that the transmission needs to be replaced already. I haven't received any dash messages or vehicle warnings prior to noticing the transmission problem. I always kept the car properly serviced by the dealer for all routine maintenance requirements. I am the original owner of this vehicle. The car has under 100,000 miles. Dealer informs me that it will take at least a week before they can possibly get new transmission for vehicle. I may be without vehicle for at least 2 weeks minimum.
THE EVAP CORE STARTED LEAKING A MONTH AGO HAD THE CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND AS I READ ONLINE ITS A COMMON ISSUE AND CHEVY DOESNT WANT TO FIX IT. SOMETIMES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD BUT DOESNT HAPPEN OFTEN
GEARS SKIPPING AND SHRUDDERING BETWEEN 2ND AND 4TH GEAR. CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED ENGINE MOUNTS REPLACES WHICH WAS A FALSE DIAGNOSE. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSING, THEY REVEALED THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR 6200$. I PAID THE 6200$ AND NOW TRANSMISSION SHIFTING HARD INTO 2ND GEAR.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, ROUGH SHIFT AND BUCKING BACK AND FORTH. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AS WELL AS HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WHEN PASSING.
