TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CRUISE CONTROL ALSO DEACTIVATED ON ITS OWN ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION AND FAILED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
I WAS DRIVING INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. I WAS GOING SLOWLY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR ACCELERATED TO A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND, I COULD NOT STOP. I CRASHED INTO A CYCLONE FENCE, 2 CENTRAL A/C UNITS, WENT DOWN A HILL AND NEARLY CRASHED INTO 2 POLES . I FINALLY STOPPED THE CAR BY HOLDING THE BRAKES AND SHUTTING THE CAR OFF. *NM
I DROVE AROUND THE REAR OF MY HOME WHICH IS WHERE MY GARAGE IS LOCATED. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I ACTIVATED MY GARAGE OPENER FROM MY VEHICLE. ONCE THE GARAGE DOOR COMPLETED OPENED I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR ACCELERATED TO A HIGH SPEED. I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR. THE CAR JUMPED A 9 INCH LEDGE AND I CRASHED THROUGH MY GARAGE WALL, AND INTO MY BASEMENT AND THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED IN MY BASEMENT WHEN IT HIT MY COMPUTER DESK. *NM
CRUISE CONTROL CAME ON UNEXPECTEDLY. IT WAS THE 2ND SUCH INCIDENT ON THIS CAR. THE CAR HAD BEEN IN CRUISE, BUT I HAD SLOWED DOWN FOR A REDUCED SPEED AREA. WHEN I GAVE IT THE GAS, THE CRUISE CAME ON WITHOUT THE RESUME BUTTON BEING PUSHED. THE FIRST TIME, THE CAR WAS NOT IN CRUISE. I HAD JUST STARTED IT IN A PARKING LOT, WAS ENTERING TRAFFIC, AND IT CAME ON AT 15 MPH. BOTH TIMES, THE CRUISE WENT OFF WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE. *LA
CONSUMER APPLIED ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT 35 MPH, AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER. PLEASE ADD FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
ACCELERATOR STICKS, ENGINE WILL NOT SLOW DOWN, WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE TO APPROX 45 MPH THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IS HOLD ON THE BRAKES UNTILL YOU CAN SHUT THE CAR OFF, THIS WAS HAPPENING INTERMITTANTLY AT FIRST NOW IT DOES IT ALL THE TIME. *AK
CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS WORKING WITHIN DESIGN CRITERIA TO GO OVER THE SET SPEED BY 17 MPH. NLM
WHEN ATTEMPTED TO STOP ON INCLINE HILL, AND LET BRAKE PEDAL GO, VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD WITHOUT A PRIOR WARNING. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT. PLEASE CONSUMER PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
OUR IMPALA HAS HAD A PROBLEM WHERE IT HESITATES AND STUMBLES WHEN YOU TRY AND ACCELERATE SINCE IT WAS NEW. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. THIS A HAZARD! I THINK WE SHOULD GET OUR MONEY BACK BUT THEY KEEP GIVING US THE RUN AROUND "YOU BOUGHT AND NOW IT'S YOURS". I THINK THAT STINKS! VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING PROBLEM WITH HESITATION WHEN APPLYING ACCELERATOR PEDAL FROM A STOP POSITION. VEHICLE BEEN IN DEALER'S SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
WHEN VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP STARTING TO ACCELERATE CONSUMER COULD STEP ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT VEHICLE WON'T MOVE. PEDAL COULD GO TO THE FLOOR, AND SOMETIMES HAD TO PUMP IT TO WORK. DEALER STATED THAT COULD BE COMPUTER RELATED. *AK
CAR ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN ENGINE RUNNING AND FOOT TAKEN OFF BRAKE TO GO FORWARD. REQUIRES THE BRAKE TO REMAIN ENGAGED AND GAS PEDAL PRESSED AT SAME TIME. MY ROLL BACKWARD IF NOT DONE WITH USING BOTH FEET. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC CAR TRANSMISSION. DEALERS DENY THIS IS A PROBLEM AND REFUSE TO CORRECT IT. PLEASE HELP.*AK

PARK + 85% RH. ARE FACTORS
ENGINE WILL SURGE, BURBLE AND LOOSE POWER AT IDLE AFTER STARTING (COLD OR HOT). NO INCIDENT YET. GMC CCONTACTED....NO RESPONSE. DEALER CONTACTED...PRESENTLY IN SHOP FOR 4TH TIME. *AK
CAR KEEPS ROLLING BACK AT IDLE SITTING AT LIGHT,TOOK CAR IN ASST. SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME TGERE HAD BEEN A # OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING,NOTHING THEY CAN DO. GAVE ME A 1-800-222-1020# TO CALL EXPLAINED THIS TO THEM WAS TOLD THEY HAD NOT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS EITHER AND GAVE ME A FILE# AND WAS TOLD TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ASST. SERVICE MANGER. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE IF STOPED AT A LIGHT AND ANOTHER CAR IS ON MY BUMPER IF I ROLL INTO THEM IT COULD CAUSE A REAL PROBLEM. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER.
