When you checked your oil level and removed the dipstick, you noticed your oil smelled like gasoline. The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal fuel odor throughout the vehicle. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated and stalled. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that she waited approximately 30 minutes before restarting the vehicle. Additionally, one quart of engine oil needed to be added to the vehicle every one to two months. The contact stated that after inserting the key into the Ignition, the key became stuck. The contact had to manipulate the key to be able to remove the key from the ignition switch. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the variable solenoid valve and intake and exhaust needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000.
Purchased a 2010 Chevy Equinox from this Chevy dealer in the Pinehurst NC area in December 2022. Heard knocking noise start mid-March 2023. Vehicle seemed to go into "limp" mode and lost power (dangerous situation had vehicle been on interstate with no shoulder or exit ramp or could have been rear-ended due to sudden lack of power). No check engine light on at any time or when vehicle was taken to another Chevy dealer (March 20, 2023). Initially, Chevy dealer stated there were no issues. Insisted that the vehicle be checked again. Dealer took vehicle on test drive and then put on lift. Chevy dealer then stated oil loss issues and need to replace timing chains, actuators, gaskets, pistons, piston rings, oil coolant, water pump, balance chain, and other related parts. This is a design flaw in engine and piston rings causing excessive oil consumption which then leads to failure of other components. Was advised to change oil every 3,500 miles as opposed to going by the "oil" light and advised only to drive the vehicle sparingly and only if absolutely needed to drive.
High oil consumption. Low oil pressure and reduced engine power light activated. Car could not go more than 2 RPM. Issue continues to persist despite on time oil changes, adding oil as needed, etc.

The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the check engine and engine power reduced warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled, and he was able to pull off the roadway. The contact stopped and placed the vehicle in park(P) however, when he attempted to restart the vehicle, the vehicle would not restart. The contact checked the oil and saw that there was no oil on the dipstick. The contact had the vehicle towed to his residence where he was unable to restart the vehicle. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or to an independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.
Vehicle burns oil at a high rate due to an engine piston ring problem. If not checked on a weekly basis you will get low oil pressure throwing the car into limp mode decreasing engine power immediately. I know people that had this problem addressed by GM free of charge as a recall. I want to know if my vehicle qualifies for this recall.Currently this vehicle requires 1 quart of oil weekly in order to keep oil level full. If I am driving the vehicle and this would happen again it might not cause an accident but currently my wife and daughter use the car and they might not be able to handle the situation if it would occur. Excessive engine repairs. I have done all the recalls and in November had to again have major engine work done on my car for excessive oil usage damaging the engine. I have also twice had transmission problems. In November my car just shut down in the middle of the highway and required major engine work done again. I have always made sure to do all the proper maintenance on this car. Now I am out of warranty and looking at around $6000 more in repairs again. I have been told by several car places that have looked at this car that there have been many problems with this car‘s engine. Engine light repeatedly goes on and when checked and fix goes off and goes back on within a week again. I have talk to GMC and they said because I am no longer under warranty nothing can be done. I feel like this car needs to be either replaced or the engine needs to be replaced by them. This last time has made me very worried since my car completely died in the middle of a busy highway.
BAD ENGINES ARE A KNOWN FACT FOR THIS VEHICLE. JUST TOO LATE FOR ME. FOUND OUT TOO LATE THAT A NEW ENGINE IS OVER $5000,. According to the dealer and an independent repair shop it is not unusual for this vehicle to have engine problems. Uses excess amounts of oil and lights are late to come on. Expensive to tear down the engine,. So all they can do is the best knowledge of what they see and hear. The reviews for this car state the same thing. Cost more to repair than vehicle is worth. Once again a GMC product gets me. Just because my folks liked them. NO MORE FOR ME>

MY VEHICAL IS BURNIG OIL I HAVE CHAGED MY OIL TWICE ALREADY THIS YEAR I JUST CHANGED TWO SENSORS NOW IM GETTING A CODE FOR THE CONVERTER
THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF THE CHEVROLET EQUINOX HAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. I AM GETTING AN OIL CHANGE, ON AVERAGE, EVERY 1,500 MILES. MY CAR HAS STALL WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. IT STALLS MOST MORNINGS AFTER BEING TURNED ON FOR 15-20 SECONDS. I'VE ALSO HAD IT STALL WHEN CHANGING GEARS. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FOR ANY DRIVER AND THEN ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THERE IS A GM LAWSUIT FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR. GM IS FULLY AWARE THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE CONCERNING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE DAMAGE IT DOES TO THE CARS. I HAD IT TOWED IN 12/11/2019 THEY COULDN'T SERVICE IMMEDIATELY AS RURAL AREA AND OTHER VEHICLES WAITING BEFORE MINE. GOT VEHICLE OUT 1/28/2020. CLAIM WAS DENIED SAYING WAS OUTSIDE SCA DATE. CAUSE FOUND BY TECH WAS ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MANY ENGINE PARTS WERE REPLACED. TIMING CHAIN AND VALVES WERE COVERED BY GM WHEN MGR OF ART HASSLER SEEN IT WAS A EQUINOX THEN PUT BACK IN LINE BECAUSEOF DATE THE REPAIR HAD TO BE DONE. 2300.00 AND OVER TO GET OUT. 2 SERVICE PAPERS. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON. MAY STILL HAVE DEBRIS IN ENGINE. NEEDS EXHAUST MANIFOLD,BALL JOINTS JUST HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED AND SENSOR THAT SAID ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS OFF FEATURE AT MIDAS. ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING. GM SHOULD DO SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE APPROVED MY CLAIM AS IT WAS IN THE SHOP THE WHOLE TIME FROM 12/11/2019 TO 1/28/2020. HAD A OIL CHANGE APRIL 15 2020. CAR WAS DRIVING FINE ON MAY 26 DRIVING AND WHITE SMOKE COMES OUT OF NOWHERE. NO LOW ENGINE LIGHT OR NOTHING JUST A SAD DAY. *TR
THIS 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX CONSUMES A LOT OF OIL, LIKE EVERY TANK OF GAS I HAVE TO ADD OIL. THIS SHOULDN'T BE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY HUSBAND, THREE SMALL CHILDREN AND UNBORN CHILD WHEN MY EQUINOX SHUT OFF I'M THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING AND WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. IT WOULD START BUT AS SOON AS I PUT IT INTO GEAR THE ENGINE WOULD CUT OFF. FINALLY THE ENGINE JUST COMPLETELY STOPPED CUTTING ON. MY HUSBAND, A POLICE OFFICER AND A GOOD SAMARITAN WERE ABLE TO PUSH THE CHEVY OFF THE ROAD INTO THE DITCH SAFELY. THE CHEVY THEN HAD TO BE TOWED TO A CAR SHOP TO GET LOOKED AT. THIS VEHICLE CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING IT!!! WITH CHILDREN IN THE BACK. THEN ENGINE BLEW A HOLE THROUGH IT. LESS THAN 200,000 MILES ON IT WITH BRAND NEW SPARK PLUGS AND A FRESH OIL CHANGE. CERTAIN MODELS OF CHEVY HAVE AN ENGINE DEFECT WHICH IS INTERNALLY IN THE ENGINE. YOUR VEHICLE WILL BURN OIL WITH NO OIL LIGHT COMING ON TO LET YOU KNOW. THERE'S NO LEAK COMING FROM ANYWHERE. THE ENGINE JUST DRINKS IT ALL UP WITHIN A FEW DAYS AND THEN WILL BLOW UP IF YOU'RE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT VEHICLES. I WAS ON A BUSY ROAD WHEN ALL OF THIS HAPPENED. WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED IF IT WASN'T FOR US GOING LESS THAN THE SPEED LIMIT.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING OR ANY EVIDENCE OF PROBLEM I TURNED THE CORNER OF A INTERSECTION AND THE ENGINE WHILE STILL RUNNING LOST ALL POWER FOR ACCELERATION. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO INJURY TO MYSELF OR THE VEHICLE. I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART , THERE SEEMED TO BE NO PRESSURE IT WAS LATER DETERMIN HAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND CAMSHAFT BROKE SENDING METAL THROUGH OUT THE ENGINE. RESULTING IN THE NEED FOR A NEW ENGINE. THIS IS PROBLEM CAUSE BY THE OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE WHICH I DID HAVE REPAIRED. THE OIL WAS FULL AND TRUCK DROVE GREAT ONE MINUTE THEN THE NEXT MINUTE THE ENGINE WAS GONE CHEVY NEEDS TO EVALUATE AND HELP CONSUMERS WITH THESE TYPE PROBLEM RELATED TO KNOWN RECALLS. WE HAVE INVESTED OR MONEY IN A PRODUCT THAT FAILS US DUE TO ENGINEERING ISSUES CAUSING THE CONSUMER ADDED EXPENSES
GENERAL MOTORS HAVE BEEN AT NO ASSISTANCE TO ME SINCE MY PURCHASE OF MY 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX I PURCHASED IT FEBRUARY/MARCH OF 2016 AND HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, I CONTACTED THE PLACE OF PURCHASE AND GENERAL MOTORS NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT THE COMPLAINT OF MY VEHICLE. ALSO WITH THE ATTACHED PROOF OF REPAIRS I REFERRED TO THE DEALERS WHO DID THE REPAIRS AND GENERAL MOTORS OF ANY CURRENT RECALLS. BACK IN OCTOBER 2019 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BECAUSE MY CONVERTER WENT OUT AND MY 100K WARRANTY EXPIRED, GM WAS NOT IN UNDERSTANDING AND WOULD NOT ASSIST. THEN I DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE WAS A OIL CONSUMPTION LAW SUITE AND A SEPARATE SPECIAL EXTENDED WARRANTY IN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BUT ONLY UNTIL 120K. MY ISSUE IS GENERAL MOTORS WILL NOT ASSIST ME DUE TO ME BEING OVER THE 120K MILEAGE EVEN THOUGH I INQUIRED ABOUT IT TIME AFTER TIME SINCE THE TIME I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I HAVE KEPT UP TO DATE IN MY ADDRESS EVEN WHEN I MOVED OUT OF STATE. I'M JUST LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN WHY MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE LAW SUITE OR COVERED WITH THE SPECIAL WARRANTY WITH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY MAIL NOTIFICATION AND ALL MY REPAIRS WERE DONE AT A LICENSED CERTIFIED GENERAL MOTOR DEALER AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE/RECALLS AND I WAS NOT TOLD OF THE ISSUES. MY ENGINE HAS BEEN BURNING OIL EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. IT IS A 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX, WHICH I BOUGHT USED FROM A DEALERSHIP. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT WAS JUST ACCEPTED FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF COST ASSOCIATED WITH PREVIOUS REPAIR, DUE TO THE OIL BURNING. ALTHOUGH, I NEVER HAD TO PAY TO GET IT REPAIRED SINCE I WAS PUTTING IN OIL ABOUT EVERY WEEK TO TWO WEEKS SINCE I FOUND THE ISSUE. I'M VERY UPSET, BECAUSE THE ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR EVERYBODY WHO HAS THE ISSUE TO BE ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED. SINCE THE OIL ISSUE IS KNOWN AND A CLASS LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED AND ACCEPTED, IT SHOULD GO FOR ALL VEHICLES, NOT JUST THE VEHICLES PEOPLE DIDN'T LOOK AFTER AND LET THEM BRAKE. THE OIL BURNING ISSUE IS VERY BAD AND IT WILL COST ME A LOT OF MONEY TO GET FIXED. THEREFORE, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED FOR FREE AS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE.

CAR WAS DYING WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT ONTO THE ROAD, CITY STREET FROM A STOP SIGN.WAS ALMOST HIT. MY GRANDAUGHTER IS JUST LEARNING TO DRIVE AND I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO LET HER DRIVE IT . RUNNING AFTER KEY TAKEN OUT, RUNNING VERY RUFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT GOING ON & OFF AS WELL AS STABLI TRAC WARNING.SMELLED LIKE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR BURNING TOOK TO DEALER TO HAVE DIAGOSED AND THEY SAID HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ENGINE HAD HIGH CONTENT OF FUEL SCANNED AND HAD EXCESSIVE AMAOUNT OF RICH CODES AND MISFIRE CODESTHAT THERE WAS FUEL GETTING IN MY OIL SAID THERE WAS A RECALL BUT NOT ON MY VIN. SAW OTHER COMPLAINTS SAME PROBLEM THAT WERE TOLD VIN WASN'T RIGHT. COST ME $500.00 TO FIX BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD TO GET A NEW ENGINE AT 62,000 AND NEW PISTONS & CRACKED MANIFOLD REPLACED AT 102,000. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO DEALER A FEW YEARS AGO FOR SAME ISSUE AND ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM.GETTING READY TO BUY 2 CARS AND I WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER CHEVY OR GM CAR AGAIN .GOING WITH THE FOREIGNS. TIMING AND OR BALANCE CHAIN TO THE ENGINE IS STRETCHED AND COULD RESULT IN BREAKAGE. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE AS REPORTED IN GM SPECIAL COVERAGE 12312D THAT SPECIFICALLY COVERS 2010-2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX, ALONG WITH 3 OTHER MODEL VEHICLES. MY VIN IS NOT FLAGGED AS PART OF THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE ALTHOUGH IT IS CAUSING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR AS DEPICTED IN THE SPECIAL COVERAGE.

AT 58569 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, GASKET, AND NUT WERE REPLACED. I BEGAN COMPLAINING ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION AT 72388 MILES. AT 77313, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE DEALER GOT THE CODE P0300. THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER #2. THE DEALER REPLACED THE #2 COIL AND GASKET AS WELL AS THE SPARK PLUGS. AT 91968 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. AT 103123 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THROTTLE BODY GASKET REPLACED. AT 105185 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN. REPLACEDSPARK PLUGS, REPROGRAMED ECM AND TCM. THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDERS 1-3-AND 5. THE DEALER ALSO PERFORMED MAJOR THROTTLE BODY SERVICE AND CLEANED THE INTAKE. AT 112358 MILES THE CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND DEALER SAID A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER #4 AND OIL WAD FOUND IN #2 SPARK PLUG WELL. I CHECK MY OIL LEVEL EVERY WEEK AND HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR MONTHS. I AM PUTTING IN AT LEAST 1 1/2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY MONTH. I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3500 MILES WHETHER THE VEHICLE INDICATES THE NEED OR NOT. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES. THE DEALERS RESPONSE IS THAT THEY CAN GET ME INTO A NEW EQUINOX. IT SEEMS THAT THIS OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM IS KNOWN BY CHEVY BUT THIS SUV HAS NEVER BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM.

THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND NOW. CHANGING JUST THE PISTONS AND RINGS WILL NOT FIX IT. CHEVROLET OWES THIS YEAR OF EQUINOX A NEW, SOLID ENGINE THAT DOESNT EXCESSIVELY BURN OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. I WAS VERY EXCITED TO GET MY SUV BACK ON MARCH 15, 2019, JUST IN TIME FOR ME TO GO TO OUT OF TOWN JUST TO FIND OUT THE CAR IS MAKING THE SAME NOISE AND DOING THE SAME ROUGH RIDING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN THE SHOP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC IN APRIL THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD A LOT OF VEHICLES WITH THE SAME AND TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I PUT THE CAR DOWN SINCE THEN AND IT'S JUST SITTING UNDER GARAGE TAKING MY MONEY. THE CAR ALSO CUT OFF ON ME MULTIPLE TIMES THE LATEST TIME IT HAPPENED TO ME, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND I COULDN'T ACCELERATE AND IT JUST CUT OFF AND I HAD TO PUT ON HAZARDS AND I ALMOST GOT HIT.

THE DEALER PERFORMED AN OIL CONSUMPTION REPORT LAST MAY. SAID THAT IT WAS WITHIN THE REQUIREMENTS SET BY CHEVROLET. ENGINE NOISE HAS INCREASED. I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS.

THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACING AND LIGHT STILL WILL NOT GO OFF AND CODE WILL NOT DELETE, THE O2 SENSORS KEEP GOING OUT (3 TIMES ALREADY) AND THE CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES IN 11 MONTHS. THE OIL CONSUMPTION IS INSANE, I CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE OIL NOTIFICATION THE CAR GIVES ME, WITHOUT PUTTING 3 QTS OF OIL , BEFORE THE NOTIFICATION RECOMMENDS. I HAVE NO OIL LEAK!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,274.

NO OTHER WORK WAS DONE TO THE ENGINE. THE REPAIR FOR THIS ISSUE WAS REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE.

ON MONDAY 1/21/2019, MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF A BUSY FOUR LANE ROAD. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC'S SHOP WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD PCV VALVE SYSTEM. THIS PART IS ENGINEERED VERY POORLY AND GM HAS CONTINUED TO USE IT ANYWAY. THE PCV VALVE SYSTEM ALLOWS WATER TO COLLECT IN IT AND THEN FREEZE, IN RETURN BLOWING OUT THE REAR MAIN SEAL SO THE ENGINE NO LONGER HOLDS OIL. CURRENTLY, GM HAS A "RECALL" ON THIS PART, GM BULLETIN #14882, WHICH SHOULD COVER A CAR OF THE EXACT SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS MINE FOR UP TO 120,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS. MINE FALLS WITHIN BOTH OF THOSE SPECS. HOWEVER, WHEN CONTACTING GM ABOUT THIS RECALL, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS SPECIFIC RECALL "DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN#." AFTER RESEARCHING, I'VE DISCOVERED THIS IS A MUCH LARGER PROBLEM THAN GM IS WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR, AS IT IS HAPPENING TO MANY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS NATIONWIDE AND THEY'RE ALL BEING TOLD THE SAME THING I WAS, THAT IT DOESN'T MATCH THE VIN#. I SPENT TWO DAYS MAKING PHONE CALLS, BEING ON HOLD, AND WAITING FOR A RETURN PHONE CALL FROM SOMEONE IN THE "EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT." BECAUSE I COULDN'T WAIT TO HAVE A WORKING CAR WHILE WAITING ON THEIR PHONE CALL, I INSTRUCTED MY REPAIR MAN TO FIX MY CAR AND NOW I'M BEING TOLD GM WILL NOT HELP ME AT ALL BECAUSE I HAD IT REPAIRED ON MY OWN ACCORD. WHEN TRYING TO ORDER THIS PART TO REPAIR MY CAR, MY REPAIR MAN DISCOVERED THAT THIS PART IS BACKORDERED THROUGH GM, BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS IT REPLACED. THE SHOP MY CAR IS BEING REPAIRED THROUGH HAS HAD THREE EQUINOXES COME INTO THEIR SHOP SINCE TUESDAY FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, AND THEY'VE ALL BEEN TOLD THE SAME THING I HAVE BY GM CUSTOMER SERVICE...AND THAT'S JUST ONE SMALL SHOP IN OHIO. I'D LIKE GM TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO COVER NOT JUST MINE, BUT ALL CARS THIS PART HAS BEEN USED ON, AND ALSO COVER THE EXPENSES TO REPAIR THE ENGINE IN MY CAR THAT IT DAMAGED.

WE WERE PUTTING ONE QUART OF OIL PER WEEK?? IN BETWEEN REGULAR OIL CHANGES. THE CAR WAS TOWED, OUR MECHANIC TOLD US ENGIN SEIZED, NEEDED A NEW ENGINE?? WE STILL OWE 3700 ON THE CAR AND IT DOESN'T RUN?? I'M SO MAD THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL?? GM OWES US A NEW CAR!!
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY, I SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE STARTED CLATTERING. I LIMPED TO THE NEAREST EXIT, AND THAT IS WHERE THE CAR DIED. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST TOWN, AND THEN WE PUT IT ON A TRAILER AND TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC. HE SAID THAT IT HAD BLOWN A ROD IN THE ENGINE, AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR $6000+. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS AT ALL. I HAD BEEN MONITORING THE OIL LEVEL BECAUSE I KNEW I WAS GETTING CLOSER TO A NEEDED OIL CHANGE. EVEN AFTER THIS HAPPENED, WE STARTED IT TO DRIVE IT ON AND OFF THE TRAILER, AND THERE WAS STILL NO OIL LIGHT!!! ALL RECALLS HAD BEEN DONE. AS WE HAD A 100,000 WARRANTY, IT WAS GONE THROUGH VERY CLOSELY BEFORE THAT EXPIRED.
EACH YEAR, WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES ARE COLD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE LOSES POWER EITHER WHILE DRIVING OR IDLE, AND THE VEHICLE RUNS VERY ROUGH.
2010 CHEVY EQUINOX WILL LOSE POWER AT ANY SPEED. I HAVE LOST POWER ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65MPH, LOCAL DRIVING AT 40MPH AS WELL AS STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE MAN HELPING US RECOMMENDED THAT THE PISTONS AND RINGS/ TIMING CHAINS BE REPLACED FOR $5629.67 OR AN ENGINE SWAP FOR $9250.76. CODES P0016 AND P0017. CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT CORRELATION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. SAME PROBLEM AS 2007 THRU 2009 THAT WERE COVERED. I CALLED GM BUT THEY SAID THE RECALL DID NOT COVER MY VIN SPECIFIC.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FIRST ENGINE WAS REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE, BUT THE SECOND ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A THREE YEAR WARRANTY ON THE NEW ENGINE. WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED A THIRD TIME AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF THE SAME THING AS WHEN SHE CALLED THEM INITIALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PCV VALVE RECALL. SINCE OHIO WAS NOT A COLD STATE, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE RECALL WOULD NOT BE HONORED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER SINCE THE SECOND WEEK OF DECEMBER 2017. BULLETIN #14882. MY CAR IS AT 124,532 MILES WHEN THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW OUT DUE TO FREEZING OF THE PCV VALVE. AFTER MANY TIMES OF THIS CAR BEING IN THE SHOP GETTING REPAIRED, THEY WEREN'T WILLING TO TAKE ANY OF THE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX IT, DUE TO THE MILES OF THE CAR BEING BARELY OVER THEIR LIMIT. I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO HELP ME OUT.
PCV SYSTEM FAILURE WITH A BLOWN REAR MAIN SEAL. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW TO A KNOWN FAULTY DESIGN BY GM. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE ALL POWER & OIL ON THE HIGHWAY. TRIED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ALMOST HITTING OVER CARS DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. THIS WAS LATER DETERMINED INVESTIGATED AND FOUND TO BE A KNOWN PCV SYSTEM FAILURE. GM IS AWARE OF THE MANY OF REPORTS OF THE 2.4 MOTOR & THE PROBLEMS. CHEVROLET HAD PREVIOUSLY EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON THIS MOTOR TO 120,000 MILES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAD 124,600, SO CHEVROLET REFUSED TO HELP. COST ME OVER $2400 AND THE CAR STILL WON'T RUN. PER INTERNET SEARCHES, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 4-CYL ECO TECH ENGINE. (I BELIEVE CANADA REQUIRED A RECALL ON THIS ENGINE!)
I WAS ON THE WAY TO THE STORE WITH MY TWO CHILDREN I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY AND THE CAR DIDNT WANT TO PULL. I HAD IT TOWED MY THE CHEVY PLACE AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS THE INNER TRANSMISSION SEEING THAT IT HAS HAD OTBER TRANSMISSION ISSUE MIGHT WANT TO TAKE A LOOK THAT THE WHOLE UNIT OF THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK MY 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX TO SECOND DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THE WAS METAL SHAVINGS AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS USELESS BECAUSE THE OF THE SHAVINGS. NOW GM WILL NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE, I PROVIDED THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS SO THAT THE DEAL COULD MAKE THE EXCEPTION TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BUT WAS DENIED. EVERY TIME I GO TO START THE ENGINE AND DRIVE OFF IT STALLS.

THE ESTIMATE FOR THESE REPAIRS IS VALUED AT MORE THAN HALF OF WHAT THE CAR IS FINANCED FOR. I'M FEELING LIKE I HAVE A GIANT PIECE OF JUNK ON MY HANDS. LUCKILY IT DIDN'T SEIZE UP WHILE DRIVING. SO FAR MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE INCLUES $93.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND AN ADDITIONAL $44.00 TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER'S MECHANIC FOR THEM TO DO AN EVALUATION 7-5-17. PROBABLY LOOKING AT $5,000 TO $7,000 OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR AND GET BACK ON THE ROAD. CERTAINLY CAN'T AFFORD THAT. IT PRACTICALLY ADDS UP TO BE THE PRICE OF BUYING A NEW ONE.

OIL CONSUMPTION.6 MONTHS AGO CALLED ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET 1160 MOTOR LANE, LANCASTER,CA ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION. I NOTICED NO OIL WAS VISIBLE ON THE ENGINE OIL DIP STICK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED MAKE SURE TO FILL IT UP AND WATCH IT NO NEED TO BRING IT IN AT THIS TIME. ON MARCH 15, 2017 THE VEHICLE POPPED AN ENGINE CODE FOR BOTH KNOCK SENSORS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SENSORS. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT THAT EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING MORNING. AFTER MAKING THE APPOINTMENT I CHECKED THE ENGINE OIL AND NO OIL WAS PRESENT AT THAT TIME AGAIN. I ADDED 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL TO MAKE THE DRIVE TO DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. I ALSO RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE BY DOING AN OIL CHANGE AND FOUND METAL FLAKES IN THE OIL FILTER. THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON DURING THE LAST SIX MONTHS.THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A PRICE OF $8,000. AS A MILITARY MEMBER WHO HAS MOVED 6 TIMES IN LAST 3 YEARS IT IS REALLY HARD TO KEEP RECEIPTS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED WITHOUT MAINTENANCE RECORDS THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING OR PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT WE CAN HAVE YOU TALK TO SALES DEPARTMENT AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU. ON MONDAY MARCH 20, 2017 I WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WANTING TO TALK WITH SERVICE MANAGER ROBERT. HE STATED THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT SERVICE RECORD AND I FINALLY CONVINCED HIM TO SUBMIT IT FOR WARRANTY WORK. THAT EVENING I CALLED CORPORATE AND SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER CARE. THEY ALSO INDICATED NO LEAK AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE OIL. THEY RECOMMEND PISTON AND RING PLACEMENT. IN JULY 2015 STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH SHIFT NOT COMING OUT OF PARK, SOMETIMES THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT DUPLICATE, SO I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES. INITIALLY TOOK CAR TO STONEBRIAR CHEVY (FRISCO, TX), WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY. THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN - I TOOK IT TO NTB (ROCKWALL, TX) & HAD VARIOUS PARTS RELATED TO SHIFTER ASSEMBLY REPLACED. I HAD IT THERE A FEW TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I THEN TOOK IT TO BRITAIN CHEVY (GREENVILLE, TX) 3 TIMES BETWEEN NOV & DEC 2015 - THE CAR SHOWED ERROR CODES P0326, P0324 & P0014. THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS WERE MADE, SOME COVERED UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE WARRANTIES: REPLACED TRANSMISSION SHIFTER ASSEMBLY, ENGINE BALANCE CHAIN, TENSIONER, GASKET, PUMP, PIPE, SEAL GASKET KIT, 3 BOLTS (VARIOUS PART #S), FILTER, GM DEXOSI 5W30, TIMING CHAIN KIT, CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR & LOOSE CONNECTION AT ECM. AGAIN IN MAY 2016 HAD ISSUES. TOOK CAR TO LAKESIDE CHEVY (ROCKWALL, TX) & RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING ERROR CODES: P0324, P0016 & P0017. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES (COVERED UNDER SPEC CVG WARRANTY), BUT THAT A BOLT UNAFFILIATED WITH A SPEC CVG WARRANTY OR ANY BOLTS REPLACED IN THE PAST HAD COME LOSE, CAUSING TIMING CHAIN TO HIT ENGINE OVER AND OVER, RESULTING IN ENGINE BEING RUINED AND NEEDING FULL REPLACEMENT (QUOTED $6K FOR THIS). I HAVE BEEN ARGUING THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER SPEC CVG WARRANTY #14159 OR 12313 SINCE IT IS RELATED TO TIMING CHAIN, ETC., BUT WAS TOLD THE BOLT THAT CAME LOSE IS NOT ONE THAT IS LISTED UNDER ANY SPEC CVG WARRANTIES. I BELIEVE THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL THE WEEK I TOOK IT BACK IN THE SHOP IN MAY, YET THE MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME THE BOLT HAS BEEN LOOSE AND CHAIN HITTING MY ENGINE FOR QUITE A BIT LONGER THAN THAT.
HAVING THE OIL CHANGED AND NOTED THAT THE OIL WAS EXTREMELY LOW. TOOK IT IN AGAIN FOR SERVICE IN JUNE 2016 AND THE OIL WAS ALREADY LOW AGAIN AND HAD NOT BE DRIVEN FAR. MILEAGE IS AT 64,000 MILES. THERE IS NOT A LEAK. HAPPENS EVEN WHEN SITTING STILL.
WHILE DRIVING ON I80 IN RURAL PA ENGINE STARTED MISSING INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN I EXITED THE ROAD TO INVESTIGATE THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO RUN VERY ROUGH AND THE INFORMATION CENTER WAS SHOWING A PROBLEM WITH STABILI-TRACK - WHICH MADE NO SENSE SINCE IT WAS SUMMER AND THE ROAD WAS DRY. AFTER VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF FOR AWHILE AND RESTARTED IT SEEMED TO RUN MORE SMOOTHLY. HOWEVER, AS I ACCELERATED BACK UP TO HIGHWAY SPEED THE MISFIRING RETURNED. WE CONTINUED TO LIMP ALONG AT A SLOWER SPEED WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS OPERATING WHILE WE SEARCHED BY PHONE FOR THE NEAREST GM DEALER. AFTER SEVERAL DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS GM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY A DEALER ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY. WE SUCCESSFULLY CONTACTED THEM AND REACHED THEIR LOCATION WHERE THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED #3 CYLINDER COIL. A FIX WAS COMPLETED AND WE WERE ABLE TO RESUME OUR TRIP. I ESTIMATE WE DROVE ABOUT 60 MILES PRETTY MUCH IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHEE ON 3 CYLINDERS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO FIND HELP. TWO DAYS LATER ON THE RETURN LEG OF THIS SAME TRIP THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ALSO FAILED IN A SEVERE RAIN STORM WHILE IN A SEVERAL MILE CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH NO BERM. ONLY A MIRACLE PREVENTED A MULTIPLE FATALITY MULTIPLE CAR ACCIDENT. THIS WAS A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE WITH ONLY 64,000 MILES THAT HAD NEVER PREVIOUSLY HAD ANY SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ACCELERATING ON A FREEWAY ENTRANCE RAMP. AS I WAS MERGING, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND STARTED A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE, STARTED SLOWING, BUT WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHEVY DEALER, WHERE A QUICK DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ENGINE HAD FAILED, AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS ENGINE HAS HAD 2 WARRANTY REPAIRS RELATED TO OIL ISSUES (8/2011 AND 8/2014). IN BOTH CASES THE TIMING CHAINS, TENSIONER, GASKETS AND SEALS, ETC. WERE REPLACED. ALSO, IN 2014 THERE WAS A RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE OIL LIFE MONITOR. THERE WAS A RECALL LETTER IN SEPTEMBER, 2014 REGARDING EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL USE DUE TO PISTON RING WEAR CAUSED BY THE PREVIOUS ISSUES. THIS CONDITION WAS TO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. I BLAME THE ENGINE FAILURE AS AN EXTENSION OF THESE OIL RELATED ISSUES, WHILE CHEVY SAYS 'NO".

AT 45,000 MILES THE VEHICLE SUFFERED FROM EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE ENGINE BECAME VERY LOUD. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITH A NEW ONE. NOW AT 100,000 MILES IT HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. OUR WARRANTY JUST RAN OUT SO THEY SAID WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGES. THE VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED VERY WELL, I HAVE READ MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND GM THEMSELVES TOLD US THEY KNEW ABOUT IT WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME. THEY EXTENDED SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ON MANY OF THE EQUINOXES TO 10 YRS/100K MI, BUT NEGLECTED TO INCLUDE OUR VEHICLE. GM REFUSES TO CHECK OUR ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER SEPARATE FROM OUR VIN TO VERIFY THAT IT IS ONE OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. GM NEEDS TO KNOW THAT THE PROBLEM EXTENDS FARTHER THAN THEY THOUGHT, WHICH IS EASILY SEEN BY SEARCHING ONLINE AND LOOKING AT CASES LIKE OURS. GM NEGLECTED TO PROPERLY FIX OUR ISSUE THE FIRST TIME AND THIS IS POTENTIALLY A MAJOR HAZARD FOR MANY PEOPLE, THEY NEED TO ACTUALLY EXTEND COVERAGE ON ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED. THE ENGINE BURNED 60% OF THE OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES, IT CLATTERS AND SOON WILL STOP WORKING.
MY EQUINOX ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY, I HEAR A NOISE IN THE ENGINE EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE, AND THE TRUCK WOULD SHAKE A BIT, PUT THE SUV IN THE MACHINE AND GOT A P0300 CODE FOR MISFIRE, THE COILS AND SPARKPLUGS WHERE LOOSE AND OUT OF PLACE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN SEVEN MONTHS.
MY WIFE AND CHILDREN WERE DRIVING OUR CHEVROLET EQUINOX ON THE HIGHWAY COMING OFF OF AN ON RAMP WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE SOME NOISE. TRYING TO TURN LEFT, THE VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, MIND YOU, IN HEAVIER TRAFFIC, AND WOULD NOT MOVE. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ITSELF, WHAT IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT?? THANKFUL THIS WAS NOT THE OUTCOME, BUT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES ITSELF. I OVI CHECKED THE ISSUE THROUGH A LOCAL REPAIR AUTO PARTS STORE, TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I HAD A SECOND OPINION PLACED WITH A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BLOWN OUT. OUR TRANSMISSION WAS DESTROYED. I WAS TOLD THAT IN THIS MODEL, A PLATE THAT GM USED FOR THIS VEHICLES TRANSMISSION BREAKS AND DESTROYS THE TRANSMISSION. BEING STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION IS A SAFETY ISSUE,
VEHICLE RAN ROUGH, NOISE FROM ENGINE NOTED . SEVERAL TIMES TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. 77K MILES ENGINE WOULD NOT START. "TIMING "JUMPED 4 NOTCHES, NO COMPRESSION IN CYLINDERS" PER DEALER . DEALER WANTED $3500 TO "DIAGNOSE" DAMAGE NOT INCLUDING REPAIR, INSTALLED USED MOTOR AT COST OF $4000. NO HELP FROM DEALER OR GM AS VEHICLE WAS 5 MONTHS OUT OF "5 YEAR WARRANTY".
CAR WOULD NOT STAY RUNNING WHEN IT WAS FIRST STARTED IN THE MORNING AFTER SITTING ALL NIGHT. WE WOULD START IT UP AND TRY TO BACK OUT OF THE GARAGE AND IT WOULD DIE,RESTARTED AND IT WOULD DIE, THIS WOULD HAPPEN 3/4 TIMES BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD KEEP RUNNING. AFTER IT KEPT RUNNING IT WOULD THEN ONLY RUN AT A VERY SLOW SPEED FOR ABOUT 3 BLOCKS AND THEN IT WOULD JUST TAKE OFF AND WOULD RUN AND START LIKE IT SHOULD UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING AND THEN WE WENT THRU THE SAME THING AGAIN. THIS CAR WAS IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID WE HAD TOO MUCH ALCOHOL IN THE GAS WHICH WAS BS. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT AND HAD TO CALL THE TAC. IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE O2 SENSOR AND BOTH TIMING CHAIN ACTUATORS AND ALL GASKETS. THIS CAR HAD A TIMING CHAIN AND TENSNER RECALL ON IT IN AUGUST 2014. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM STEMS FROM THE RECALL ON THE TIMING ISSUES. I DON'T HAVE ANY THING TO UPLOAD BUT YOU CAN GET THE RECORDS FROM THE DEALER.

ENGINE IS CONSUMING AN INORDINATE AMOUNT OF OIL, POSSIBLY DUE TO WARPED CYCLINDERS. I TOLD THE DEALER IT WAS LEAKING OIL OR SOMETHING BECAUSE I COULDN'T KEEP ENOUGH OIL IN IT, THEY SAID THERE WAS NO LEAK AND THAT I NEED TO CHANGE THE OIL MORE OFTEN. TERRIBLE RATTLE HAS EXISTED SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2010. TIMING CHAIN HAD TO BE REPLACED ONCE AND THE RATTLE WENT AWAY FOR A SHORT TIME. OTHER MECHANICS ARE SAYING CYLINDERS BECOME OVAL AND THEN IT CONSUMES OIL AND IF YOU DON'T NOTICE IT THE TIMING CHAIN BREAKS THE PLASTIC GUIDES DUE TO IMPROPER LUBRICATION.

AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,300.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. BROUGHT THE CAR TO A CHEVY DEALER AND RETURNED WITH FULL OIL, AT ~55000 MILES. ONE MONTH LATER, AFTER PUTTING ON ~700 MILES, THE OIL LEVEL MARKER COULD MERELY DETECT ANY OIL LEFT. BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD IT TOOK THEM 1QT OIL TO TOP-OFF (I FEEL IT SHOULD BE MORE THAN THAT), WHILE THEY ADMIT EVEN 1QT/700 MILES OIL CONSUMPTION IS NOT NORMAL. THEY'VE STARTED THE MONITORING, AND WE'LL SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING.
WAS OUT RUNNING ERRANDS WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN AND THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING A LITTLE ROUGH - ALMOST DIED TWICE WHILE AT STOPLIGHTS. HAD PREVIOUSLY VOICED MULTIPLE CONCERNS TO DEALERSHIP ON OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL. NO LOW OIL NOTIFICATION ON VEHICLE WOULD EVER DISPLAY, AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS MODEL WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A NOTIFICATION (WHICH WE THOUGHT WAS VERY ODD). FINALLY GOT VEHICLE HOME AND AS I PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY THE VEHICLE DIED; WENT TO RESTART AND MADE AWFUL SOUND WOULDN'T TURN OVER. WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL WITH OVER 1,500+ MILES LEFT UNTIL RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE. TALKED TO GM CS AND TURNS OUT OUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE GIVING A COMPUTER NOTIFICATION ON THE DASHBOARD FOR LOW OIL. THANKFUL IT DIDN'T HAPPEN DURING MY ERRANDS SINCE IT COULD HAVE DIED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION OR ON THE INTERSTATE AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN DANGER.

I HAD TO PURCHASE AN ENTIRELY NEW A.C SYSTEM AT 50K MILES. THEY PUT THE HOSE DIRECTLY ON THE ENGINE WHEN BUILDING THE CAR. THEREFORE, THE HEAT BURNED A HOLE INTO THE HOSE WHICH CAUSED THE SYSTEM TO OVERHEAT, RESULTING IN THE NEED FOR THE ENTIRE A.C. SYSTEM TO BE REPLACED. A MONTH LATER, THE CAR BEGAN STALLING AND MISFIRING WHILE AT STOP LIGHTS. THEN, IT PROGRESSED TO MISFIRING WHILE CAR ACCELERATES. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF! I WAS LUCKY TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE ROAD AS I HAD MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. APPARENTLY, AT 50K MILES, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS APPARENTLY THE CAUSE FOR THE ISSUES (PER A MECHANIC). I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERY ON THIS CAR 3 TIMES. I'M STILL PAYING THE CAR OFF AND HAVE PUT SO MUCH MONEY INTO IT FROM IT FALLING APART AT 50K MILES!

MY VEHICLE HAS SIMILAR ISSUES THAT OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT: (1) LOSS OF POWER ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL DOWN TO GAIN SPEED. ENGINE HAS HESITATED AND BACK-FIRED. (2) EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION STILL REMAINS AN ISSUES EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BROUGHT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. (3) CLANGING NOISE IN THE ENGINE WHICH I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE TURNED OUT TO BE A TIMING BELT ISSUE. VEHICLE LOST MOST POWER AND I BARELY GOT THE VEHICLE BACK TO MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I WENT TO START VEHICLE NEXT DAY TO BRING TO A REPAIR SHOP, ONLY THE STARTER WAS SPINNING [ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER AS I FOUND OUT THE TIMING BELT DISINTEGRATED]. BY NOT KNOWING THERE WAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM [EXTENDS FOR 10 YEARS/120,000 MILES I BELIEVE], MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION AND SAID ALTHOUGH MY REGULAR WARRANTY ENDED, I SHOULD BRING TO DEALER. IT WAS REPLACED FOR FREE BY DEALER DUE TO SPECIAL COVERAGE IN NOVEMBER 2014 [OVER 4 YEARS OF COMPLAINING ABOUT EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE]. BROKEN TIMING BELT CREATED DAMAGE INSIDE THE ENGINE BUT DEALER COVERED ALL DAMAGE. AFTER THE TIMING BELT WAS REPLACED, IT SOUNDED LIKE I HAD A WHOLE NEW ENGINE AS IT WAS SO QUIET. THERE IS STILL A SMALL RATTLING NOISE DURING START-UP, BUT GOES AWAY AFTER ENGINE RUNS. GM NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THAT NOT EVERY SINGLE VEHICLE IS GOING TO BE THE SAME AND NOT ALL VEHICLES ARE GOING TO HAVE PROBLEMS AT EXACTLY THE SAME MILEAGE, IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PARTS IN THE VEHICLE AND YOU REPLACED THOSE PARTS WHEN THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 30,000 MILES ON IT AND THE PROBLEM IS OCCURRING AGAIN 107,000 MILES LATER THEN THERE IS OBVIOUSLY STILL A PROBLEM. GM DID A RECALL ON THE RINGS AND PISTONS OF MY CAR. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW AND TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THAT IT WAS USING TOO MUCH OIL. THEY CHECKED IT AND TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE, TO KEEP ADDING OIL AND THAT THE CAR "JUST USES OIL." NOW AT 98,000 MILES LATER THEY DO A RECALL AND SAY THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THEY ONLY FIXED THE RINGS AND PISTONS, WHICH IS ONLY PART OF THE PROBLEM. MY CAR IS USING 1 - 1.5 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. COMMON SENSE AND MECHANICS TELL ME THAT IF A VEHICLE IS USING THAT MUCH OIL WHERE IS ALL THE EXHAUST AND EMISSIONS GOING, IT IS GOING THROUGH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. SINCE I AM USING THREE TO FOUR TIMES THE AMOUNT OF OIL THAT SHOULD BE USED, THEN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS WORKING HARDER. NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND AFTER HAVING IT TESTED, GM HAS INFORMED ME THAT I NEED A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER BECAUSE IT IS CLOGGED UP. IT MAKES SINCE THAT IT WOULD BE CLOGGED UP SINCE I AM BURNING THIS EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL DUE TO THE FAULTY RINGS AND PISTONS THAT GM HAS ALREADY AGREED WAS WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE. NOW, THEY ARE WANTING TO CHARGE ME $1100.00 FOR A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND REPLACED DURING THE RECALL. THE CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 70K MILES ON IT. ALSO HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING OF A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS NORMAL HOWEVER I WAS TOLD BY SOMEONE AT THE CHEVROLET HOME OFFICE THAT THIS WAS NOT NORMAL, I ALSO DROVE ANOTHER EQUINOX WHILE MINE WAS IN THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED AND IT DID NOT MAKE THIS NOISE. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY CHEVY EQUINOX I HAVE HAD ENGINE TROUBLE RELATED TO THE OIL SYSTEM. FOR A PERIOD OF TIME I WAS INITIALLY GIVEN THE RUN AROUND IN REGARDS TO A SOLUTION. THE ENGINE NOISE MADE IT CLEAR TO ME THAT MY CAR NEEDED SOME TYPE OF REPAIR. MY PERSISTENCE ENABLED ME TO FINALLY HAVE THE PROBLEM SOLVED. I CANNOT BE MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT THAT EVENT, BUT KEEPING THAT INCIDENT IN MIND LEADS TO THE NEXT. I LATER BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OIL CONSUMPTION (SEVERAL MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD). DURING PERIODS IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES I BEGAN TO PUT MORE AND MORE OIL IN MY CAR. THIS DIDN'T MAKE SINCE MY TRAVEL WAS LOCAL AND NOT MUCH. ( I HAVE BEEN OUT OF WORK SINCE LAST JUNE 2013). THAT TIME I DECIDED OR I WILL SAY INSISTED THE DEALER LOOK FURTHER INTO THE PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS THREE WEEKS AFTER AN OIL CHANGE AND IT WAS DOWN ALMOST FIVE QUARTS OF OIL. I GOT A LECHER ABOUT THE DAMAGE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED. TO THE POINT OF THE PROBLEM WITH ALL THIS. I READ OTHER LETTERS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WEBSITE IN REGARD TO OTHER ENGINE OR OIL RELATED ISSUES ON THE CHEVY EQUINOX. IT SEEMS MORE THAN APPARENT THAT THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO PRIOR TO ACCIDENT, INJURY OR DEATH. EACH PROBLEM OR COMPLAINT ALSO HAD A NUMBER OF HOW MANY OF EACH WERE RECORDED. I WOULD HOPE THAT IT WOULDN'T TAKE FOR ME TO INJURE MYSELF OR BE JUST ANOTHER TRAGIC DEATH RELATED TO THE BIG CAR INDUSTRIES. TROUBLE SHOOTERS GET PAID BIG MONEY TO PREVENT SUCH TRAVESTIES. I WOULD THEN EXPECT THAT THESE GLITCHES WOULD BE WORKED OUT TO THE BENEFIT OF THE SMALL PEOPLE PAYING BIG MONEY FOR VEHICLES THAT HELP THEM MAKE IT ON THE JOURNEY TO A BIGGER A BETTER WAY OF LIFE. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL SERVICE CENTERS, THERE HAVE BEEN CONTINUING ISSUES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS OTHER VERSIONS. I DO KNOW THAT CHEVY HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE DUE TO A "CONCERN" OVER THE LOWER TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES NEED TO FAIL BEFORE GM WOULD BE FORCED TO DO SOMETHING BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE GM/DEALERSHIPS HAVE AGREED TO COVER SOME COSTS FOR CUSTOMERS THAT WERE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS AFTER 100K MILES. ACCORDING TO MY SERVICE CENTER, THE TRANSMISSIONS SEEM TO BEGIN FAILING BETWEEN 80MK AND 110K. UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME, I AM 3% BEYOND BEING COVERED. *TR

CONTACTED GM FOR THE 100,000 POWER TRAIN WARRANTY THEY OFFER ON THIS VEHICLE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SOLENOID IS NOT COVERED AND WILL COST MY 108.75 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS SCAN AND 157.00 FOR THE PART, WHY IS GM OFFERING THE POWERTRAIN 100,000 WARRANTY ON THERE ENGINES WHEN ONLY CERTAIN PARTS ARE COVERED. IS THERE ANY RECALLED ON THE ENGINES FOR THE CHEVY EQUINOX ENGINE MADE IN 2010. *TR
2.4 L ENGINE FUEL PUMP PLUNGER SEAL IS DEFECTIVE. ALLOWS GASOLINE TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE, THINNING THE OIL. THIS CAUSES ENGINE BEARING SURFACES TO WEAR THROUGHOUT(BASICALLY RUINING THE ENGINE). ENGINE PERFORMANCE DETERIORATION BEGAN AND SYMPTOMS INCLUDED ROUGH IDLE, ENGINE KNOCK, POOR ACCELERATION AND STALLING. MY WIFE HAD A CLOSE INCIDENT WHEN HER CAR STALLED AND WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE REPORTED THAT HIS DAUGHTER-IN-LAWS EQUINOX STALLED OUT ON A DETROIT EXPRESSWAY - WALK HOME! THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. MY ENGINE WAS REPLACED AFTER 5 SERVICE VISITS IN AUGUST 2012. TODAY, GM HAS SENT LETTERS TO ALL 2010 AND 2011 CUSTOMERS DETAILING THE "MAY HAVE THIS CONDITION - COULD CAUSE ENGINE RUN-ON OR ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE", WHICH IS TRUE, BUT A VERY WEAK AND UNNACEPTABLE EXPLANATION FOR WHAT REALLY CAN HAPPEN. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO AN AUTOPARTS STORE TO GET THE CODE. UPON RUNNING THE CODE IT WAS DISCOVERED THE OIL WAS LOW IN THE CAR. THE MECHANIC PUT IT IN 3 QUARTS OF OIL. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED IN OCTOBER AND HAD JUST PUT 3000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS 1 QUART OF OIL LOW. I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALER AND GAVE THEM THE CODE P00014. THEY SAID IT WAS MY CAMSHAFT AND TO BRING IT IN FOR WARRANTY WORK. UPON DROP OFF THEY SAID THEY COULD SMELL OIL BURNING AND HEARD A KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE. THEY SAID THE OIL IN MY CAR WAS VERY BLACK/DIRTY AND LOW WHEN THEY RECEIVED IT. THEY TOLD ME TO MAKE SURE I CHANGE MY OIL REGULARLY AND NOT FOLLOW THE "OIL LIFE" LIGHT IN THE CAR. THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND SAID THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE. I WAS INFORMED TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE OIL SO THEY COULD DO A CONSUMPTION TEST. A WEEK LATER THE SAME CHECK ENGINE CODE CAME ON IN MY CAR. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED CHAINS AND ACTUATORS IN THE ENGINE. I GOT MY CAR BACK, WATCHED THE OIL AND DROVE 1000 MILES. AT THAT POINT MY CAR WAS 1.3 QUARTS OF OIL LOW. THE DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTED IT AND SENT ME ON. I DROVE 700 MILES AND WAS 3/4 A QUART OF OIL LOW. IT ALSO HAD THAT KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK MY CAR BACK AND CALLED GM. THEY WERE TOLD TOOK LOOK FOR MARKINGS IN THE ENGINE. THEY ENDED UP REPLACING MY ENTIRE ENGINE AND THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM DUE TO THE MARKINGS THEY FOUND. GM SAID THESE PROBLEMS WERE LINKED TO ISSUES IN ENGINES WITH THESE MARKS. MY SITUATION HAS BEEN FIXED FOR NOW BUT I WANTED TO MAKE MY PROBLEM KNOWN FOR OTHERS WHO HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED. *TR

THE DEALER RECOMMEND THAT I COME IN EVERY FEW WEEKS AND THEY WOULD RESET THE CODES AND THIS WOULD HELP THE ISSUE BUT NO FIX SINCE THE COMPUTER WOULD AGAIN ADJUST SHIFT POINTS. ANOTHER OPTION WAS TO TRADE UP TO A 6 CYL MODEL ( PLUS $10K) WHICH DOES NOT EXHIBIT THE PROBLEM. AUG 24TH. IN THE INTERIM I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND FINALLY A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE ORDERED. I HAVE CALLED THE CHEVROLET CORP. AND THE GM EXECUTIVE OFFICES TO INFORM THEM THAT THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. A BRAND NEW CAR ONLY 3 WEEKS OLD SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I TOLD THEM THAT I DON'T WANT THE CAR BECAUSE I HAVE A CHILD AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN IT. GM TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO; I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK. ON NOV 1ST I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY DAUGHTER AFTER WORK AND MY CAR STALLS AGAIN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THIS TIME I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BROUGHT IT FROM (QUIRK CHEVROLET), AND CALLED GM AGAIN TO NOTIFY THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED. THE SERVICE ADVISOR WHO WAS DEALING WITH MY VEHICLE [XXX] SAID THAT THE PROBLEM THIS TIME WAS DUE TO DEBRIS GETTING INTO THE CAM SHAFT SCREEN/FILTER. I TOLD GM THAT I DO NOT WANT THAT CAR ANYMORE, EITHER GIVE ME A NEW CAR OR REFUND MY MONEY AND I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. AGAIN, THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! ON NOV. 4TH I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET MY CAR. [XXX] LET ME TRANSFER MY BELONGINGS IN THE SERVICE GARAGE, TOLD ME DRIVE OUT OF THE GARAGE. AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE I TRIED TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR BUT DIDN'T CLEAR THE TURN, I WOUND UP SCRAPPING AND DAMAGING THE SIDE OF MY CAR[XXX]DIDN'T GUIDE ME NOR DID HE TELL ME TO STOP WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO HIT THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE, HE JUST STOOD THERE WATCHING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD USE HIGHER GRADE FUEL TO QUIET THE NOISE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO REMEDIES FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,500.

BOUGHT A CHEVY 2010 EQUINOX BACK IN NOVEMBER OF THIS YR., AT 5,000 MILES I NOTICED A SECONDARY NOISE RATTLING/KNOCKING TYPE OF SOUND COMING FROM MY ENGINE (AT ACCELERATION). BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP 3X NO RESULTS. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS BOTH NOTICED AND OBSERVED THE NOISE AND BOTH SEEM TO BELIEVE THE NOISE IS LACK OF FUEL GETTING TO THE ENGINE CAUSING MINI EXPLOSIONS TO THE ENGINE, THEREFORE CAUSING HOLES IN THE PISTONS WHICH WOULD CAUSE FURTHER ENGINE DAMAGE. I CONTACTED GM AND THE DEALERSHIP BOTH IGNORE THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE AT THIS TIME, LATER FOUND OUT FROM THE GM DEALERSHIPS SERVICE STATION THAT ACCORDING TO GM TECH ASSIST THAT THERE ARE 20 OTHER CASES LIKE MINE THAT THEY WERE NOTIFIED OF AND GM IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT, THIS TO ME IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. NOW I HAVE MORE MILES AND THE NOISE IS GETTING LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR KNOWING THAT MY ENGINE COULD BE SEVERELY AFFECTED. 2010 EQUINOX 4000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE COMES FROM ENGINE. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE SERP BELT THE FIRST TIME. STILL SQUEALING AND TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT WEEK WHERE THEY STATE IT WAS THE PWER STEERING GEAR. REPLACED THE POWER STEERING GEAR AND CAR STILL MAKES THE SAME NOISE. BOUGHT A 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX ON OCT. 31ST..HAVE HAD IT 5 MONTHS AND HAS 5,500 MILES ON THE MOTOR IS MAKING A SEVERE OR REALLY LOUD TICKING NOISE. TOOK IT TO 2 CHEVY DEALERS AND THEY TELL ME THIS IS NORMAL BUT WHEN YOU START ONE UP ON THE LOT IT MAKES NO WHERE NEAR THE NOISE MINE DOES. THEY TELL ME IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS KIND OF FUEL INJECTORS AND REFUSE TO FIX IT. WAS NOT LOUD AT ALL WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NOW IT JUST KEEPS GETTING LOUDER. ROUGH IDLE DURING COLD START OF MY 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX 2.4L 4 CYLINDER ENGINE ENGINE IDLES ROUGH AND MISSES UNTIL IT WARMS UP WHEN IT GETS BELOW 40 DEGREES TOOK CAR TO DEALER AT 2,000 MILES IN NOVEMBER, THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND TO SPECIFICATIONS. SAID THEY WOULD KEEP A EYE OUT FOR SERVICE BULLETINS ON COLD STARTING, NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. CAR CONTINUE TO RUN ROUGH ON COLD START. FOUND ON MY OWN A GM SERVICE BULLETIN IN DEC. #P00010 ON COLD START REQUIRE CALIBRATION OF ENGINE. CALLED DEALER TOLD THEM WHERE TO FIND SERVICE BULLETIN THEY FOUND IT AND THEN TOOK THE CAR IN . SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS EVEN AFTER TWO SERVICE VISITS. THE DEALER SAYS "THEY WILL KEEP THEIR EYE OUT FOR ANOTHER SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE COLD WEATHER STARTING" AS EVERYTHING IS UP TO SPECIFICATIONS ON THE CAR. THE CAR STILL RUNS ROUGH AND MISSES UNTIL IT WARMS UP. *TR
