Your steering wheel locked up while making a left turn off the freeway, preventing you from turning the wheels and forcing you to pull to the right side of the road. This nearly caused you to collide with other vehicles. The Chevrolet dealer diagnosed a faulty steering gear but has been inconsistent about whether they can reproduce the problem, delaying repairs for a week. The steering gear will likely need to be replaced to restore normal steering function.

Your key gets stuck in the ignition and won't come out. You have to start the vehicle multiple times while shifting between Drive and Park before the key finally releases. This is a frustrating and potentially dangerous issue that needs attention.

Your steering column's ignition key release mechanism may fail without warning, sometimes intermittently. When this happens, you won't be able to remove the key from the ignition, which means you can't lock your vehicle or engage the steering wheel lock—creating a risk that your truck could roll away. You'll also be unable to leave the vehicle quickly in an emergency. The transmission may also lose its park position. Fixing this typically involves replacing the ignition switch assembly or steering column components.

Your steering wheel has a notchy, sticky feeling that requires you to constantly adjust it back and forth while driving, which feels unsafe. This problem appeared early at just 22,000 miles and seems to affect multiple vehicles of this model. The issue may require inspection of the steering column or intermediate shaft components to identify and repair the binding.

Your steering wheel occasionally catches, grabs, or gets stuck when turning at slow speeds, such as when parking, and makes a loud noise as you power through it before returning to normal. Both an independent repair shop and a Chevy dealership have experienced the problem during test drives but were unable to identify a cause, and no warning lights appear on your dashboard. The issue may require inspection of the steering column assembly, power steering system components, or intermediate shaft for binding or mechanical wear.

Your key gets stuck in the ignition and won't come out, even when the car is in park. You have to shift the gears or disconnect the negative battery terminal to release it. This appears to be a steering/ignition lock mechanism issue.

Your truck's ignition key sometimes gets stuck and won't come out after you turn off the engine. You have to repeatedly turn the truck on and off, and shift it in and out of neutral and park several times before the key will finally release. This is frustrating and inconvenient, though it doesn't prevent you from driving once it does release.
