2015 Chevrolet Colorado Engine Problems

Truck will have issues with misfires or rough idle. Technician advised that the truck has excessive intake valve carbon which is a known issue for 2015 - 2016 colorado and stated their is a bulletin for this know issue. However, this is not a recall even if they know this is something known that happens.

Tl* the contact owned a 2015 chevrolet colorado. While driving approximately 55 MPH, another driver alerted the contact that smoke was emitting from the engine compartment of the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the fire.

Engine stalls out when at a stop. The truck has stalled several times and each time I take it the dealer they say they can't do anything. It also hard idles likes it'd going to stall out.

When I slow down or come to a stop at a red light . The truck starts stalling and doesn't want to go unless I stomp on the gas . I have taken it twice to a chevrolet dealer near where I live.

Turn turns off - truck idles low and feels like it is going to stall when in traffic on the freeway and at a red lights.- I was sitting at a red light and when it turned green and I pushed the gas peddle it did not move. It had turned off.

Engine stalls intermittently when beginning to accelerate from red light/stop sign. Stalls occurred within 1 mile distance from where vehicle was started. First stall was at red light moving forward lightly.

Engine intermittently idles rough and stalls. Engine stalled while stopped in intersection necessitating a restart. Placed car into neutral, restarted, and was able to exit the intersection but after light turned red.

While driving on the highway, my vehicle show battery light and then hi temp due to a loose belt, after stopping on the shoulder of the highway, I inspected the engine compartment and found out that the air condition compressor bracket broke, I tow the vehicle back home and try to repair the broken part but I found out that Chevrolet has discontinue this part, no Chevrolet dealer, no third party and/or any auto part sales the broken part.

My 2015 Chevrolet Colorado with a v6 engine has corroded oil cooler lines. I have scheduled a repair appointment with my local chevrolet dealer. I believe this is a common problem with this vehicle.

Sometimes the temperature rises without reason.

HESITATES DURING ACCELERATION. I HAVE REVIEWED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE ENGINE HESITATES AROUND 2000 RPM. IT HESITATES TO A POINT WHERE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE TO BE RECEIVED BEFORE NHSTA ACTS? IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER - INITIALLY THEY SAID THERE WAS A COMPUTER PATCH. STILL HESITATING.

WHEN GOING JUST 5 MINUTES UP THE ROAD AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE STUTTERS, THEN SHUTS OFF. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IN JUST ONE WEEK, IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE. I HAVE REPORTED THE ENGINE STUTTERING BEFORE AND THE MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I DRIVE AN HOUR TO WORK EACH DAY AND THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. I DRIVE THROUGH HEAVY TRAFFIC EACH DAY AND I AM AFRAID I WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT IF THIS CONTINUES TO DO THIS. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR ONLY 10 MONTHS. THIS IS VERY SAD. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OIL OR "BAD GASOLINE".

Sluggish engine after slowing down and then trying to increase speed, engine jumps and hesitates for a few seconds then if you stomp on the gas pedal it downshifts and takes off after reving to about 5,000 rpms. This usually happens when slowing down to about 20-30 MPH then starting to increase speed. It is truly embarrassing owning this $37,0000 truck.
