Snow is accumulating in the gap between your wheel rim and brake components while driving, causing significant vibration throughout the vehicle. You can't safely remove it yourself while on the road, creating a hazard especially on highways. The dealer hasn't been able to identify why snow is sticking in this area so persistently. A fix might involve inspecting the brake assembly clearance, applying protective coatings to reduce snow adhesion, or modifying the wheel design.

When you shift into reverse, your backup camera screen goes completely dark and won't display any image, making it impossible to see behind the vehicle while backing up. You've already cleaned the camera lens and confirmed nothing is blocking it. The issue likely involves the camera's internal connection, power supply, or the display system itself.

Your 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan was damaged in a deer collision requiring over $13,000 in front-end repairs. Volkswagen and the dealership have been unable to source replacement parts for nearly a month, with no timeline for availability. You're currently paying for both your car loan and insurance on a rental vehicle while waiting for parts, and your insurance coverage for the rental will expire in 7 days. The repair will require replacement of collision-damaged front-end components once parts become available from Volkswagen.

I purchased a new 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan (VIN [XXX] ) on December 9, 2025. On January 18, 2026, with 1,243 miles, the closed sunroof suddenly shattered as I slowly backed out of my indoor garage. There was no debris, no storm, and no outside impact. I took photos immediately, including wide and close‑up shots; none show any impact point. I reported the incident to Brookdale Volkswagen the same day and sent my photos. The dealership submitted a warranty request, but Volkswagen denied it as “outside influence,” without identifying an impact point or providing written inspection notes. I requested evidence supporting that conclusion, the VW case details, and a physical inspection with written findings. After the car was towed to the dealer, the service manager sent a new photo labeled a “rock chip.” This mark does not appear in any of my original photos taken immediately after the shattering, before towing. The dealer referenced VW Tracking [XXX] and repeated the denial. Volkswagen Customer CARE later issued a formal denial and directed me to BBB AUTO LINE for dispute resolution. No external cause was present; the vehicle was indoors and stationary. No impact point appears in my original photos, and the later “chip” only appeared after the vehicle left my possession, so it is not reliable evidence of pre‑existing damage. Tempered roof glass can fail spontaneously due to manufacturing or installation stress, making this a warranty‑covered defect absent proof of impact. I am requesting warranty coverage for replacement of the panoramic sunroof assembly and related interior cleanup or repairs, written inspection findings and all photos used to support any continued impact claim, and reimbursement or coverage of reasonable costs tied to the failure. I am filing this claim through BBB AUTO LINE, and a related NHTSA complaint is being filed to document the safety concern. Filed: Feb 2026

Your car's forward collision avoidance system unexpectedly engaged your emergency brake and shifted the car into park while you were driving at 15-20 mph in the middle lane, with no warning lights. Before this incident, you noticed the emergency brake deploying and putting the car into park multiple times when backing up or moving forward after starting the vehicle. The issue may involve a malfunction in the collision avoidance system's sensors or the electronic brake control module, which may need recalibration or replacement.

Your car's automatic emergency braking system is activating unexpectedly and jerking your vehicle into park while engaging the emergency brake—this has happened over 15 times in less than 3 months of ownership. When this happens, fault lights appear on your dashboard for the front and side/rear sensors, though they disappear after restarting the car. The dealership has confirmed they can reproduce the problem and is currently working on it, likely requiring diagnostic work on the collision avoidance sensors and brake control system.

Your Forward Collision Avoidance system stopped working while you were driving in the rain, and a warning light appeared on your dashboard. The dealer replaced the Forward Collision Avoidance module (Part Number J769), but the problem happened again even after repair. The dealer suggested cleaning the sensor, and you've taken the vehicle back multiple times—Volkswagen is aware of the issue and has opened a case. Fixing this will likely require replacing or reprogramming the Forward Collision Avoidance module and sensor.

Filed: Mar 2026

While driving at 45 mph, your vehicle suddenly applied the brakes on its own without any obstacle or hazard in front of you, causing the brakes to lock up and the vehicle to stop completely. Multiple warning lights and messages appeared on the dashboard, and the vehicle began honking and exhibiting abnormal locking behavior. You had to restart the vehicle to regain normal operation. The dealership could not identify the cause or provide a repair, leaving the risk of this happening again unresolved.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2025 Tiguan has had multiple electrical and engine warning lights appear on the dashboard (including check engine and oil leak warnings) that come and go unpredictably every 2-4 days, along with a persistent noise from the front passenger side that mechanics haven't been able to identify. Most critically, your car has completely shut down while you were driving, which is a serious safety hazard. The service center has been unable to diagnose or fix any of these issues despite multiple visits.

While driving at normal speed, your Tiguan unexpectedly shifted itself into Neutral without you doing anything, causing you to lose power to the wheels even though the engine kept running. Your dashboard lit up with multiple warning messages including "Exhaust System Malfunction," driving assistance warnings, and an SOS emergency alert. After pulling over and restarting the vehicle twice, it worked again, but the exhaust warning stayed on. The dealership couldn't reproduce the problem and only found a rear radar fault code. A sudden loss of drive power while moving is a serious safety concern that needs investigation.

criticalSEATS,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your car's emergency brake is activating and the engine is shutting off on its own while you're driving, particularly at red lights and while backing up. The dealership believes a faulty seat sensor may be incorrectly detecting that no one is in the driver's seat, even though you're sitting there. This creates a dangerous situation when the engine cuts off as traffic lights change, putting your car at risk of being hit from behind. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and replacing the faulty driver's seat occupancy sensor or related wiring.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your 2025 Tiguan is unexpectedly engaging the electronic parking brake and shifting into Park multiple times per week without any driver action or warning, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly during normal driving conditions like traffic lights and slow-speed maneuvers. This sudden stopping creates a serious risk of being rear-ended or losing control in traffic, and you've experienced several near-miss situations. The dealership was unable to reproduce the problem when you reported it early on, so no repair has been attempted despite the issue continuing regularly.

Your engine repeatedly stumbles, stutters, and stalls while driving, forcing you to pull over for safety. Despite two manufacturer inspections, the problem persists with no warning lights appearing. The issue may involve fuel delivery, spark timing, or ignition components that need diagnostic testing and repair.

Filed: Dec 2025

Your brand-new Tiguan suddenly shut down while stopped at a red light and began shaking before shutting off completely. The transmission wouldn't respond to gear selections, leaving you stuck in traffic, and the engine then started cranking on and off by itself without you touching the start button—creating a dangerous situation on a busy highway. Additionally, you've noticed a clicking noise when reversing. This issue likely involves a combination of electrical, fuel system, and transmission diagnostics to identify why the engine is stalling and self-cranking.

highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Filed: Nov 2025

Your cruise control isn't responding to steering wheel button commands to adjust speed, and this problem comes and goes unpredictably. More concerning, your car is now automatically speeding up or slowing down on its own while cruise control is engaged, even though adaptive cruise is turned off. Your dealer has tried replacing the steering wheel buttons and clock spring/wiring harness without success, suggesting this may be a software issue rather than a hardware failure. A software update or reprogramming of the vehicle's control modules may be needed to resolve the cruise control malfunction.

Filed: Nov 2025

Your 2025 Tiguan's rear door panels are made of hard plastic, while the front door panels are padded leather. In a side-impact collision, rear passengers could be injured by striking the hard door surface. The manufacturer agreed to replace your vehicle, though you had to pay the price difference for a replacement model. This repair would likely involve replacing the rear door panels with padded, flexible material or swapping to a different vehicle.
