Your vehicle experienced intermittent electrical glitches where warning lights appeared, the speedometer and RPM gauge dropped to zero, and the engine wouldn't respond to the accelerator pedal — then mysteriously returned to normal a few minutes later. This happened twice during one drive. On another occasion, the driver's door lock failed (neither the key fob nor automatic unlock worked), the vehicle wouldn't start, and all doors were unresponsive until the problem resolved itself three hours later. The issue may involve a faulty body control module, electrical connection problem, or a software glitch that requires diagnostic scanning and possible module replacement or reprogramming.

Your sunroof control panel trim piece melted in hot weather and partially detached from the ceiling, where it has remained hanging. As a result, your SOS emergency feature has stopped working. The repair will likely involve replacing the melted trim piece and reconnecting or repairing the electrical connections for the SOS system.

Your trunk lid won't open, even when you pull the emergency release handle from inside the trunk. The locking mechanism appears to have failed, leaving the trunk stuck closed. Getting the trunk open will likely require inspection and repair of the latch assembly or lock mechanism.

Upon starting my 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, the vehicle immediately went into "limp" mode and the check engine light and EPC light came on. The vehicle would not drive over 18 mph. The car was towed to a close by Volkswagen dealership and checked for codes using a multipoint inspection. The report came back with a throttle body issue (Multipoint inspection report attached). The throttle body was replaced and the vehicle was taken for a 15 mile test drive. During the drive, the same problem occurred. After the drive, 34 codes were found in VWs report. I have also attached the report to this complaint. The technicians at the VW dealership didn't understand the problem, so they opened up communication with Volkswagen in Germany. The Volkswagen engineer advised the dealership to replace the wire harness. After the wire harness was replaced, the car has no more issue (although it has only been 5 days since), which cost $2314.54 in total. There is a class action lawsuit in the state of New Jersey (Case [XXX]) against Volkswagen Group of America that states "VW is aware of concerns involving faulty wire harnesses"... affecting 2019-2022 Volkswagen Atlas, Golf, Jetta, TIGUAN, and Taos. Thank God that this happened to my vehicle with the car was at rest and not traveling at a high rate of speed that could have been fatal. The overhead console fell down with no indication or force - could’ve been heat or weak parts. Overhead console dangled by electrical wires and blocked rearview mirror and line of sight. Upon research, numerous other Volkswagen Tiguan owners have experience similar issues.

11/19/2024 Check engine light came on while I was driving. Got home, checked oil and it was down about a quart. Oil had just been changed on 10/17/2024. Only approximately 1800 miles put on vehicle since last oil change. Vehicle was at approximately 62,000 miles. Also tire pressure light always on. Scheduled appt with VW dealer. Dealer invoice states "P04F000 Checked Purge valve and found oil in line, due to Defective crankcase breather, and causing an oil leak, replaced crankcase breather, replaced the EVAP purge valve and replace the upper timing cover gaskets. cleared oil off engine and test drove". the engine could have blown while I was driving this, I had no previous warning signs and since the dealer says the Defective crankcase breather, thinking they should be fixing this issue and not charging the customer. Total cost of repair $960.02.

Vehicle keeps having all warning lights and warning messages come on whenever the car starts. Warning lights maintain on constantly and has audible beeping to indicate the warnings. Vehicle would also put itself into park randomly at, as well as disengage collision and lane sensors while driving. Vehicle has been taken to the dealership, and has been reproduced by them, stating "we have never seen this before and are not sure what to do, we need to reach out to Volkswagen directly" most recent update, they needed to replace the door harness and F5 module but are still unclear with the status of the repair. Dealership has indicated it's safe to drive if I wanted to pick it up while they figure out the issue.

Oil change/ low oil light didn’t come one. When car was initially checked due to check engine light being on it didn’t produce any codes. The dealer confirms it needs a new engine and turbo rebuild due to there being no oil in the car. Last oil change was May 29, 2023 at Pep boys.

The car will suddenly shut off while slowing down or coming to a stop. The “start/stop” error message is displayed and the car displays to “manually restart car”. At first this happened only sporadically, but now this is happening while on the highway in traffic or while turning in an intersection. Today it has happened 5 times. Our car only has 10,000 miles and has had problems from the beginning. The fuel pump had to be replaced after sitting at the dealership for a MONTH while they tried to fix and unknown “EPC” error that displayed and completely shut our car off while driving on the highway—not coming to a stop.

The driver proceeded to open/shut all the doors to ensure that all doors were closed. While coming to a stop, the car displayed an error code “ Error: Driver Door Contact Switch” and automatically put the car in park using the emergency break. The driver would have to put the car in park, turn off the vehicle, and release the emergency break to continue. The Volkswagen Tiguan would do this at every stop. The driver pulled over and opened/shut all the door to ensure that no doors were open and it was only after reading in a form that the driver discovered that it is an electrical issue/software issue that the computer registers the door as open.

The gas door on the vehicle would not open. It is locked when the vehicle is locked, and is unlocked when the vehicle is unlocked. The gas door opens by pushing the door, and the door will pop open. After repeatedly locking and unlocking the vehicle, the gas door still would not open. I ended up prying the door open, breaking it off in the process.
