AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Toyota 4Runner, 2014-2015 Scion xB, Lexus IS350C, IS250C, 2014 Toyota Sienna, Lexus IS-F, and 2014-2017 Lexus GX460 vehicles sold, or ever registered in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands or "Zone A." Toyota is also recalling certain 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Lexus IS250, IS350, 2011-2016 4Runner, 2011-2015 Scion xB, Lexus IS350C, IS250C, 2011-2014 Toyota Sienna, Lexus IS-F, 2011-2017 Lexus GX460, and 2011-2012 Lexus ES350 vehicles ever registered in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." Toyota is also recalling certain 2010-2013 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Lexus IS350, 2010-2016 4Runner, 2010-2013 Lexus IS250, 2010-2015 Scion xB, Lexus IS350C, IS250C, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2010-2014 Lexus IS-F, and 2010-2012 Lexus ES350 vehicles ever registered in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C." These vehicles are equipped with air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, used as original equipment or replacement equipment (such as after a vehicle crash necessitating replacement of the original air bags), that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Fix: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, or replace the air bag assembly. The recall began February 15, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are "Zone A" Toyota: G0P, Lexus: GLG; "Zone B" Toyota: G0R, Lexus GLH; "Zone C" Toyota: H0A, and Lexus: HLA.

You had all open airbag recalls completed at an authorized Toyota dealership on 01/27/2026, and you have dealer documentation confirming the repairs were done successfully. However, the NHTSA database still shows these recalls as open rather than completed. You're requesting help getting the recall completion properly reported and updated in the NHTSA system.

I have a 2014 Toyota Sienna (as indicated by VIN number) and I currently reside in the United Kingdom on US military orders. After getting notice from the NHTSA about the fact that my vehicle had an open recall I contacted my local Toyota dealership here in the UK. I was able to have the affected parts replaced after they were shipped from the US. However, the UK Toyota dealership has been unable to update the NHTSA database due to being outside the US. We have been trying to correct this issue through Toyota and the NHTSA for well over a year but no progress has been made. I have paperwork that shows the recall work was carried out. Please help me figure out how to get this updated. My family has received orders to return to the US but we are unable to ship our vehicle with an open NHTSA recall.
NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE VEHICLE, BUT NORTH HOLLYWOOD TOYOTA REFUSED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS ( AFTER WAITING IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR 5 HOURS) BECAUSE THEY SAID WE 'ALTERED' THE VEHICLE. IT IS A MOBILITY VAN PURCHASED THRU MOBILITYWORKS- WHO ADDED A RAMP FOR A WHEEL CHAIR. THE FRONT BUMPER AND DASH WERE NOT ALTERED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. HAYWARD ALLEN TOYOTA (2910 ATLANTA HWY, ATHENS, GA 30606, (706) 549-7002) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE DRIVER'S SEAT RECLINED ON ITS OWN AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND "CHECK SRS AIR BAG SYSTEM" WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SPARKS TOYOTA (4855 US-501, MYRTLE BEACH, SC 29579, 843-236-2161) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000.
TAKATA RECALL
CALLED THE DEALERS AS PER THE WEBSITE AND THEY ARE NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM YET. LEXUS DEALER SAYS CALL TOYOTA AND TOYOTA DEALER SAYS WE DON'T HAVE A FIX YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DUE TO HIS WIFE'S RECENT WEIGHT LESS, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000. TRAVELING 45 MPH CROSSING EAST A 3 LANE INTERSECTION WITH A GREEN LIGHT WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE GOING SOUTH RUN A RED LIGHT. SINCE I HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY AND MY VAN WAS AT STEADY SPEED OF 45 MPH, I HAD NO TIME TO REACT TO PREVENT FROM HITTING THE INCOMING CAR. I HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SIDE DAMAGING BOTH FRONT AND REAR DOOR. THE IMPACT TOTALLY RUINED THE FROM OF MY 2014 TOYOTA SIENNA VAN WITH JUST 6277 MILES. MY INSURANCE COMPANY'S ADJUSTER DECLARED THE VAN A TOTAL LOST. WITH THAT STRONG IMPACT THAT TOTALLY DESTROY THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE, I WAS SURPRISED THAT THE AIR BAG IN THE DRIVER SIDE DID NOT DEPLOY. SO, I AM REPORTING THIS INCIDENT FOR POSSIBLE PRODUCT DEFECT ON AIR BAGS INSTALLED IN MY 2014 TOYOTA SIENNA LE VAN TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENT ON AIR BAG FAILURE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 TO FLORIDA FROM NC, TRAVELING 70 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN I NOTICED A CAR COMING UP FROM BEHIND DRIVING ALMOST ON THE CENTER LINE. I STAYED IN MY LANE AND THE CAR CAME UP AND IMPACTED THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE, ROTATING THE CAR 90 DEGREES AND SENDING ME AND MY FAMILY OFF THE INTERSTATE ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. THE SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE POINT OF IMPACT RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER AND SIDE DOORS OF THE MINIVAN. *TR
