A repair shop in Arkansas broke a brake caliper bleeder valve during service and told you it would be fine without replacement. Less than 1,000 miles later, your brakes failed completely—the pedal went to the floor—and you had to coast into a parking lot to stop safely. You had to have the vehicle towed and paid $750 for repairs. Fixing this issue will require replacing the broken bleeder valve and likely re-bleeding the entire brake system to restore proper brake function.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKES GOING DOWNHILL, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARPED THE ROTORS ON THE TRD BRAKE KIT TWICE IN 27000 MI. THESE BRAKES WERE OFFERED AS A MANUFACTURER OPTION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS AND THE CALIPERS AT 7000 MI. NOW AT 27000 MI THE ROTORS ARE WARPED AGAIN. THE DEALER SAYS IT WILL TAKE APROX 30 DAYS TO GET THE PARTS AS THEY ARE BACK ORDERED. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS AN EXCESSIVE HEAT PROBLEM. DEALER STATES THAT THERE IS 20% REMAINING ON FRONT BRAKE PADS. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. *TR
