Your Prius's hybrid battery stops charging when it reaches 75% capacity (6 out of 8 bars), and at that point the engine takes over while the battery stops accepting any charge. The car then runs on engine power only instead of using the hybrid system normally, but no warning lights or error codes appear on the dashboard.
