The styrofoam padding on your car's headrest broke off on the left side, likely from repeated shaking or manipulation. Your toddler may have caused the damage by moving his head back and forth while sitting in the seat, which produced a squeaky sound he found entertaining. The padding will need to be replaced or repaired to restore the headrest to its original condition.
