TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN VERSA NOTE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE ENGINE REVVED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE FINALLY MOVED FORWARD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SIX TIMES BEFORE THE CONTACT FINALLY MADE IT TO THE EXIT RAMP OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO MAKE A TURN OFF THE STREET. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ATLANTA BEST USED CARS (5141 BUFORD HWY, PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA 30071, (770) 449-9711). THE DEALER WAS STILL IN THE PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING THE FAILURE AND HAD NOT YET CALLED BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
I OWN A 2017 NISSAN VERSA NOTE AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION FEELS SLUGGISH AND ACTS AS IF IT IS SLIPPING. IT REVS UP HIGH BUT DOES NOT ACCELERATE QUICKLY. THEN THE CAR CATCHES UP AND BEGINS TO PICK UP SPEED. I MUST ACCELERATE HARD TO GET UP TO HIGHWAY SPEED AND THE ENGINE SOUNDS AS IF IT IS ACCELERATING THAN DECELERATING. I GET THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT IN CITY TRAFFIC. I BELIEVE THIS CVT HAS HAD RECALLS ON IT BUT I DON'T SEE ANY ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE.
AT 5:30, 1 DEC 2018, DRIVING 45 MPH NOTHING UNUSUAL WHEN MY CAR JUST STOPPED MOVING! I HAD MY FOOT FLAT TO THE GROUND ON THE GAS AND IT WAS NO WHERE! I HAD TO THROUGH MY HAZARDS ON BECAUSE I WAS ON A COUNTY ROAD AND NEARLY GOT HIT! I PULLED OVER INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD AND DROVE SOME MORE TO SEE IF IT WAS A FREAK THING BUT IT HAPPENED ABOUT 8 MORE TIMES (REALLY QUICKLY LIKE THE ENGINE DIED FOR 10 SECONDS, CAME BACK, DIED AGAIN; I WAS JUST JOLTING FORWARD WHEN IT CAME BACK ON!) IT WAS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE SO I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP! IT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUY IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, WHERE I AM CLOSE AND I WOULD BET MONEY IT'S THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THEY FOUND IN HIS CAR BUT NISSAN NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING!
