After the dealer couldn't identify the problem, you had spark plugs and boots replaced, but when you restarted the vehicle, you heard abnormal engine noises and the check engine and TPMS warning lights came on. The CVT transmission is believed to be the issue, and it is available to be inspected upon request. While driving at highway speeds or up even a small hill the car suddenly and without warning loose power and acceleration, not accelerating past 3,000 RPM. There are times when I’m either stoped at a stop sign or merging lanes and power ceases causing other vehicles to preform an emergency stop to avoid from hitting me or causing me to swerve to avoid a collision. The problem has happened multiple times. It has not been inspected by the dealership or any police or insurance agents. There are no warnings lights that appear associated to the problem. When an OBD scanner is plugged in no codes or anything alarming is shown.
The transmission on my 2012 Nissan Rogue failed without any warning. While driving the car suddenly stopped accelerating, RPMs increased, when breaking the car would shake as well as the break pedal and there was a loud shaking noise coming from the engine. My car did not have any warning signs or prior issues, one morning while taking my child to school and going to work, my car began to have issues. At first it would not accelerate as fast as it normally does and the RPMS would go high. At this time it also started to run very loud and there was a shaking coming from the engine. When I tried to brake, the brake pedal began to shake and almost felt as though the breaks were slipping and not catching properly. Eventually I was able to pull off of the main road into a parking lot. By the time a tow truck came, the driver was not even able to get enough power to drive the car up the flatbed.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the contact saw smoke coming from the front driver’s side hood. The contact pulled over in a neighborhood and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that the smoke dissipated independently with the Service Engine Soon warning light illuminated. The vehicle was driven home however, the following day the windows and key fob malfunctioned. The contact stated that the dealer and an independent mechanic were notified of the failure however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
My car is jerking/bucking when I accelerate. I was told by 2 mechanics that it is due to a transmission issue. I also was told that they have seen this issue on several other Nissan Rogues. I believe this is a safety issue because jerking while driving is dangerous because this action might cause an accident and endanger the occupants of the car and other cars driving nearby. There was a light that came on immediately when the car started to buck. This frightened me because I never experienced this before, especially since I had my car checked a month and a half prior. I am now scared to drive it due to my safety and others, but also doing more damage to the vehicle. This car has had transmissions issues in other various years. Obviously there is a defect with the CVT transmission for more years than what has been reported. My car is available to be inspected upon request.
My car started jerking and vibrating I took it to a mechanic, he indicated that it’s my transmission. My Nisan is only 2012 with 100,000 miles. I already need to replace Transmission.
I PURCHASED A USED 2012 NISSAN ROGUE IN GOOD FAITH FROM ANDERSON CHEVROLET. IT WAS AS IS, SO THERE WAS NO WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THE CAR APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE. HOWEVER, THERE IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS INVOLVING THE CVT TRANSMISSION WHERE THEY FAIL. IN SPITE OF THIS BEING A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL, NO REPROGRAMMING, NO NOTHING AND THE VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FALLS TO THE UNKNOWING OWNER. I DO NOT HAVE AN ADDITIONAL $4-5K TO PAY FOR THIS FIX. AND I AM CURRENTLY STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LOAN FOR THIS CAR, SO I CANNOT SELL IT. SO I AM LEFT PAYING FOR A CAR THAT DOES NOT WORK, WITHOUT MEANS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NISSAN DISOWNS THE PROBLEM, BUT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. HOW DOES THAT WORK?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 40 MPH. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE SPEED DECREASED TO 30 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DROVE HOME. THE FAILURE LATER RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT CALLED WIN KELLY CHEVROLET CLARKSVILLE AT (443) 574-5704 (LOCATED AT 12421 AUTO DR, CLARKSVILLE, MD 21029). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COWLES NISSAN (14777 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, WOODBRIDGE, VA 22191, (703) 497-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK, AND A BODY VALVE AND COOLANT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,449.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY I-75 SOUTHBOUND 37.5 MILE. TWO ADULTS AND KIDS 6 AND 4 YRS OLD WERE PRESENT IN THE CAR. WE HAD TO GET OTHER PEOPLE TO HELP PUSH THE CAR OVER TO THE RESTING AREA AND OFF THE HIGHWAY. WE HAD TO TOW THE CAR TWICE TO THE LOCATION WERE WE WERE GOING AND BACK TO SARASOTA AREA WHERE WE LIVE. THE CAR WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 75 MPH WHEN IT BROKE AND COULD NOT MOVE ANYMORE. I CALLED NISSAN AND CREATED A CASE, BUT THEY REFUSED HELP WITH ANYTHING. NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS WERE RECALLED TO YEAR 2010. OURS IS 2012 AND THEY STILL MADE BAD TRANSMISSIONS. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED.

THE VEHICLE WAS AT A CROSS STREET WAITING FOR THE LIGHTS TO CHANGE, THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON AND THE RADIO AND OTHER ACCESSORIES WERE NOT IN USE, WHEN THE SUV STALLED SHORTLY. IT WAS NOTICED THAT THIS ONLY OCCURS WHILE THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON AND THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP IN DRIVE OR L MODES. *TR
ACCELERATION PROBLEMS, WHEN STEPPING ON GAS VEHICLE CRAWLS AND WHINING NOISE FROM ENGINE SOUNDING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. HAD IT LOOKED AT WHEN NEW WITH CLUNKING NOISE FROM ENGINE AT DEALER. THEY SAID THEY NOT SEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH ROGUES AND CLAIMED A ROAD TEST WAS DONE AND NO NOISES WERE HEARD FROM TECHS. NOISES HAVE CONTINUED AND NOW HAVING SEVERE PROBLEMS ACCELERATING TO EVEN 30MPH. PROBLEM SEEMS TO COME AND GO QUITE FREQUENTLY, MOST OCCURRENCES HAPPEN AFTER A LONG ROAD TRIP. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY, INCLUDING TRANSMISSION FLUIDS AND OIL CHANGES AS RECOMMENDED. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WHERE DEALERS CLAIM NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLES. DOES A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH HAVE TO HAPPEN TO FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGE SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE.
