Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.
Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The recall began on February 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Passenger side airbag light kicks on thinking there is a "child" or something light in the front seat which disables the airbag. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This is a known issue of the manufacturer but yet the refuse to include other years of these vehicles in their recall. There even has been a lawsuit on their "fix" because they just continue to use the same sensors even when replacing the recalled vehicles sensors. They also expect you to pay 2700 to replace an ENTIRE seat cushion to replace said sensor. I am sorry but poor people do not have that kind of money laying around. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes was reproduced and confirmed by a local Nissan Deal. They even cleared the code and within 2 weeks it appeared again in the same way/format. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? The contact stated that at that time she did not see any smoke in or around her vehicle, so she assumed that it may have been an outside vehicle. The contact stated that after she continued to drive for a few miles, she smelled a burning odor again, however she stated that once she looked out the window towards the passenger's side and noticed grey smoke coming from the engine compartment of her vehicle. The contact stated that she was advised by the fire department that the fire started behind the firewall of the vehicle. The contact stated a fire report was made, and her vehicle was towed to her residence. The contact stated that no injuries were sustained to her, or the passenger in the vehicle at the time. The contact stated that she has not contacted the dealer at the time, however, she contacted the manufacturer in regard to a recall that she found while doing her own research. The contact stated that the same year , make , and model vehicle was recalled and was experiencing the same failure as she was with her vehicle NHTSA 15V032000 (Electrical System) , however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact stated that she had initially taken her vehicle to Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac (2012 Scottsville Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42103) for an oil change, but upon return of the vehicle, the horn failed to operate as needed. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the dealer and was referred to a Nissan dealer for assistance. The contact had called the dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V032000 (Electrical System) which she linked to the failure. The contact made multiple attempts to reach the manufacturer however, each attempt was unsuccessful. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Im having issues accelerating since i purchased the car, the transmission is bad , there is cut electric wires by the brake and gas pedal. When breaking there's knocking, pinging, the brakes shakes. I almost got into 4 accidents with my family and child. I was told by dealer it was the reg gas i put in the tank but then got carfax history and seen a mechanic and was told transmission is bad the light is on dash. At 25mph the rpm jumps up and down. Gas tank reads incorrectly.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD NEAR THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT. THE HEADLIGHT WAS REPLACED THE DAY BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THE HEADLIGHT WORKED WHEN INSTALLED BUT WAS NOT WORKING BY THE NEXT EVENING. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHTS HAVE NEEDED REPLACING MORE OFTEN THAN THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT (A 3:1 RATIO OR A 4:1 RATIO). THAT RATIO MAY INDICATE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. HEADLIGHT BULB WAS A NAPA BP1255/H11LL-N. OUR CAR TOOK AN H11 BULB. THE LL STANDS FOR LONG LIFE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR OPEN ALARM REMAINS ON AS DOES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. WE HAVE CLEANED ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE FRONT DOOR HINGES AND LOCKS AND THE ALARM REMAINS ON AS DO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR MOVING.
THE AIRBAGS LIGHT IS ON AND THE WINDOW WIPER DOES NOT SPRAY VERY HARD TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE POSTED ON THE INTERNET THE SAME PROBLEM ( THIS WAS HOW I DISCOVERED IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING). NONE OF THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORK AS WELL AS THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT ( I RELIEVE IT'S TO THE LEFT) THE HORN WILL THEN WORK. I FIND THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I CAN NOT ALERT ANOTHER DRIVER USING MY HORN. I'M LESS CONCERNED ABOUT THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORKING. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE COMPLETED I AM NOT SURE IF THIS PROBLEM AFFECTS THE AIR BAG OR NOT. I BELIEVE THERE IS A WIRE HOOK UP TO THE AIR BAG. *TR
THIS LAST TIME TO THE NISSAN IN MY AREA, I HAD THEM LOOK AT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR, AS THE SENSOR INDICATES OFF, EVEN IF THERE IS NO WEIGHT ON THE SEAT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE HEAD OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BOTH SAID THAT IT'S NOT CLEAR IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR IS OFF. THEY SAID I COULD GET IT REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE IS: IT WILL COST $2,600 BECAUSE THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SEAT. COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS ACTUALLY AN ISSUE REPORTED TO THE NHTSA FROM OTHER 2011 ROGUE OWNERS. I AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER IN MY FAMILY, BUT NOW I AM WORRIED TO TRANSPORT ANYONE. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL, BUT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE ME TO SELL MY VEHICLE AND NOT GET ANOTHER NISSAN. PLANNING A FUNERAL FOR SOMEONE WHO CHOOSES TO RIDE IN MY FRONT SEAT ISN'T AN OPTION EITHER. I AM TRULY AT A LOSS FOR WHAT TO DO NEXT, BUT I AM HEARTBROKEN THAT IT'S COME DOWN TO THOSE TWO OPTIONS. I WANTED TO KEEP MY ROGUE FOR A FEW YEARS MORE - I LOVE IT, BUT SAFETY IS MY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. I WISH SAFETY WAS A PRIORITY TO NISSAN TO MAKE THIS A RECALL, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE PROFITS HAVE SURPASSED CUSTOMER SAFETY. THE SENSOR HAS BEEN ON FOR MONTHS, BUT THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE.

MY VEHICLE GETS WATER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR, UP TO AN INCH AND CAUSES ELECTRICAL ISSUES. NISSAN STATED THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BUT DID NOT DEAL MY VEHICLE AND IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM AFTER THE FIRST FIX. WATER IS THERE WHEN DRIVING, PARKED OR ANY TIME THE ROAD IS WET OR RAINING.

I WAS TRAVELING ON THE MEADOWBROOK STATE PKW TODAY (04/29/19) ABOUT 2MIN IN , THE TRAFFIC CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR ABOUT 30 SEC , I SLOWLY STARTED TO ACCELERATE BUT NOTICED THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS . I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE LEAVER WAS STILL IN DRIVE , WHICH IT WAS , I MABE A SECOND ATTEMP BUT STILL ROLLING BACKWARDS BY THEN TGE PERSON BEHIND ME STARTED HONKING . I IMMEDIATELY TURN MY FLAHER ON , PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN THE IGNITION OFF WAITED A LITTLE THEN TURN THE ENGINE BACK ON PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE THEN IT STARTED MOVING FORWARD . DOOR LOCKS THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK AS THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY (DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND BOTH BACK PASSENGER DOORS). HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK/UNLOCK. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY OF AN ACCIDENT/FIRE ETC., THE DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK IN ORDER TO GET INFANTS, TODDLERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN A HURRY. IF I WERE BEING FOLLOWED/STALKED, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LOCK ALL MY DOORS FOR MY OWN SAFETY. BELONGINGS IN MY VEHICLE ARE AT RISK. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL TO GET THIS SAFETY ISSUE RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. JUST LOOK AT THE LOCK PROBLEMS ON ALL FORUMS ON THE INTERNET WITH VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS. ESTIMATE OF $500 PER DOOR TO FIX EACH ACTUATOR IS INSANE. I DO NOT HAVE OVER $2,000 TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY NISSAN. AT FIRST, I WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AFTER LEAVING/LOCKING THE VEHICLE AND THEN RETURNING, ONE OF MY PASSENGERS WOULD PULL ON THEIR DOOR OR I'D PULL ON THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND MY ALARM WOULD GO OFF. I HAD LOCKED/ALARMED THE CAR WHEN EXISTING BUT THE DOORS WERE NOT ACTUALLY LOCKED SO WHEN YOU RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND PULLED ON DOOR HANDLE YOU WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR (DUE TO LACK OF LOCK ACTUALLY LOCKING) WHICH CAUSED THE ALARM TO SOUND. PAYING CLOSER ATTENTION TO SEE IF IN FACT THE LOCKS WERE LOCKING/UNLOCKING WHICH THEY WERE NOT. WHEN I ARRIVE AT DESTINATIONS, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THE DOORS REMAIN LOCKED AND I MANUALLY HAVE TO UNLOCK BEFORE I CAN EXIT THE VEHICLE IS ANOTHER INCIDENT IN WHICH I REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V032000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROUGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD SPORADICALLY FLASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCS CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,234.
ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2013 I HAD BROUGHT MY 2011 NISSAN ROGUE CAR IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE MY REAR RIGHT DOOR WAS NOT LOCKING/UNLOCKING PROPERLY, AS IT TURNED OUT THE LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE, IT WAS REPLACED. TWO MONTHS LATER, I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE DRIVER''S DOOR WAS HAVING PROBLEMS LOCKING/UNLOCKING. AS IT TURNED OUT THAT LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE AS WELL. (THAT LATCH WAS REPLACED ON DECEMBER 3, 2013.) DURING THIS VISIT I ASKED THAT ALL THE DOORS BE CHECKED (WHILE UNDER WARRANTY) BECAUSE IT SEEMED THAT PERHAPS THIS WAS A DEFECT IN THE CAR''S MANUFACTURING. MY WARRANTY HAS SINCE EXPIRED AS OF MAY, 2014 AND TWO MONTHS LATER IN AUGUST, 2014 THE REAR DRIVER''S DOOR AND NOW THE FRONT PASSENGER''S DOOR ARE MALFUNCTIONING. (DOORS HAVE TO BE OPEN/CLOSED AND LOCKED/UNLOCKED MANUALLY.) THIS NOT ONLY IS A BURDEN, BUT AS A SINGLE WOMEN IT IS A SECURITY RISK NOT ONLY TO MY PERSON BUT TO THE VEHICLE ITSELF. I HAD CONTACTED DEALERSHIP ON BOTH OF THESE ISSUES AT THE TIME OF THE MALFUNCTIONS, AND THEY HAD ADVISED ME THAT THEY CAN ONLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE SINCE THE WARRANTY HAS SINCE RUN OUT. (NEEDLESS TO SAY, I REALLY DON''T UNDERSTAND THE DEALERSHIP''S POSITION ON THIS ISSUE CONCERNING THE PROBLEMS LEADING UP TO A TOTAL MALFUNCTIONING OF LOCKING/UNLOCKING SYSTEM, SINCE IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE AND WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM AT THEIR DEALERSHIP.) *TR
