I OWN A 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE 4X4 BOTH SIDES OF THE FRONT FRAME WHERE THE STRUT TOWER ARE LOCATED ARE SEVERELY ROTTING WHICH CAUSED THE ENTIRE ALL MY BRAKE LINES TO ROT AWAY I WAS DRIVING TO UPSTATE COLLEGE TO GET MY SON AND I WAS ALSO WITH MY DAUGHTER I COULD HAVE DIED I CHECKED ONLINE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THAT PARTICULAR PROBLEM I CALLED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO SUCH RECALL I AM SO UPSET AND WORRIED THE MECHANIC CAN'T EVEN LIFT THE TRUCK ALL THE WAY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE BRAKE TOWER BUCKLES EVEN THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS A RECALL PLEASE HELP ME. *TR ..UPDATED 03/08/17 *BF
I'M SECOND OWNER AND HAVE NO ASSURANCE THAT MY AIRBAGS ARE ORRIGINAL! HOW DO I KNOW THAT A TEKATA AIRBAG HAS NOT BEEN PUT INTO MY CAR?? WE DON'T KNOW. THEREFORE, AN INSPECTION OF AIRBAGS SHOULD BE MADE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ROTATOR CUFF AND AN CONCUSSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND SENT SOMEONE TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE WHO STATED THAT THE CRASH WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
WAS DRIVING 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT WHERE MY CAR T-BONED ANOTHER CAR AT ABOUT 50MPH, FRONT IMPACT ON MY CAR. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. *TR
MY WIFE WAS TRAVELING IN OUR 2001 MODEL PATHFINDER SUV ALONG THE 57 STATE FREEWAY AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER ON IT'S SIDE TWICE AFTER SHE ATTEMPTED TO ERGE BACK TO HER TRAVELING LANE. SHE WAS TWO FEET AWAY FROM A STEEP HIGHWAY EMBANKMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACK ON ITS' WHEELS. SHE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER ARM, HEAD, FACE, AND LEG. THE CAR IS A TOTAL OSS AS ASSESSED BY THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL. I HAVE A PICTURE OF THE WRECKED CAR AND WILL LIKE TO FORWARD IT TO YOU. WE HAD REPORTED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP - DOUGLAS NISSAN ABOUT SCREECHING NOISES FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL AREA TWICE BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT AND THE DEALERSHIP STATE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY CAUSES FOR THE PROBLEM. SINCE THIS ACCIDENT I HAD CONTACTED NISSAN MOTOR NORTHE AMERICA CONSUMER AFFAIR TO REPORT THIS ACCIDENT AND CLAIM FOR LOSS OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO PRODUCT DEFECT ON DECEMBER 21, 2004 AND HAVE NOT HEAR BACK FROM NISSAN REGARDING ANY RESOLUTION.*AK
I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 40MPH WHEN A 16 YEAR OLD DRIVER SITTING THE THE TURN LANE COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I HIT MY BRAKES(ABOUT 20FT OF SKID MARKS) AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID THE OTHER CAR. I HIT THE OTHER CAR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE THE WENT ABOUT 15 FEET AND HIT A FOUR FOOT BLOCK WALL. MY PATHFINDER FOLLOWED THE WALL ABOUT 12 FEET AND CAME TO A REST ALMOST ON ITS SIDE. I HAD TWO FRONT IMPACTS AND NEITHER AIRBAG OPENED ON EITHER IMPACT. *AK
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 2-19-01. WE WERE TRAVELING EAST BOUND ON A CITY STREET WITH THE POSTED SPEED OF 40 MPH. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 38-40MPH. A CAR TRAVELING WEST BOUND TURNED IN FRONT OF US, WE HIT THE CAR AND THE HIT A STOP LIGHT POLE. WE CONTACTED NISSAN, AND THEY SENT US A LETTER STATING THAT WE DID NOT DECELERATE QUICK ENOUGH. GOING 40MPH AND HITTING A CAR AND THEN A LIGHT POLE, HOW CAN THAT NOT BE A QUICK ENOUGH DECELERATION? MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED, AND ALL OF THE DAMAGE WAS IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, WITH THE LIGHT POLE RESTING IN THE CENTER OF THE HOOD. EVERYONE AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE POLICE, FIRE DEPT., AND AMBULANCE WOULDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO GET ME OUT OF THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED FOR FEAR THAT THE BAGS WOULD DEPLOY IN ATTEMPT TO GET ME OUT. I WANT TO KNOW WHY THEY DIDN'T DEPLOY, AND I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT. I LOVE MY EXTERRA, BUT IF EVER THERE SHOULD BE ANOTHER ACCIDENT, I (OR SOMEONE ELSE) MAY NOT BE AS FORTUNATE TO SURVIVE THE CRASH.*AK
VEHICLE WAS IN A HEAD-ON COLLISON WITH A PICKUP TRUCK,AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED SOME INJURIES. CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT 50 MPH. *AK
WAS IN HEAD ON COLLISION AT APPROX. 50MPH IN NEW 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE. VEHICLE HAD 600 MILES ON IT AND WAS LEASED. VEHICLE PULLED IN FRONT OF ME ON 4 LANE HIGHWAY, I HIT IT HEAD ON. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. BODY SHOP, POLICE ETC HAVE ALL SAID THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. RADIATOR WAS CRUSHED AND BUMPER AND GRILL ASSEMBLY WERE DEMOLISHED. ALSO CONCERN THAT SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY BODY SHOP WHO DOES A LOT OF THIS TYPE WORK THAT THEY RECOMMEND HAVING IT TESTED SINCE IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL OPINION IT SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. I HAVE BACK INJURY.*AK
