2016 Nissan Altima Airbags Problems

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima S. The airbag light is on without accident. I went four times to the Nissan dealer to fix the problem.

My air bag light is on and will not go out. I have not been in a accident and I am aware of the previous recall on the air bags back in 2016. I tried to have the Nissan dealership in Lithia Springs, GA check on the issue, but they stated they would have to keep the car for at least 3 days to be able to review the problem.

Based on the air bag warning light showing on my 2016 Nissan Altima I had Lia Nissan of Glens Falls, NY conduct a diagnostic inspection to determine the cause the noted warning light problem on February 22,2023. The technician determined that the air bag system in the back of the passenger seat was not functioning properly with a related code B0020-13 side a/b ih (open).

My airbag light is on. It just came on one day. (No accident or anything else to cause this to happen) I checked to see if a recall was on my vehicle but it was not.

As we were getting the highway the breaks had failed and then we some were able to get off the highway but the steering wheel cruise control decided it was gonna work by itself it was a very accident.

I was recently informed by two nissan dealerships that the front passenger side air bag is not designed to deploy for passengers weighing less than 140 pounds. I understand that this is designed to protect children; however, there are many, many adults weighing less than 140 pounds and this would put them at significant risk for injury in an accident. I have a 2016 nissan altima.

The front seat passenger occupant classification system (ocs) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

Within I month prior to my accident I had tire problems. I replaced the 4 tires.approx. 3 prior to the accident I had fuel and electrical problems.

I was told the vehicle has not been in a crash, yet discovered the airbag light was on upon further inspection (after purchase). I know similar model years had airbag recalls. I have been told that if I were to crash the srs system and the airbags would not deploy.

My vehicle hasn't been in any accidents and the airbag lights will come on and go solid and stay on then sometimes go off and then come back on??? I've been reading that the ocs system could be faulty!! The passenger one will sometimes stay on when people are sitting in the seats or it will go off when no one is there??

Not sure if it includes takata recall. My 2016 nissan altima was in a accident on june 19th 2019 the car went to a fence a palm tree and a structure of the house inside of the house and no airbags deployed.

"takata recall" airbag icon light came on in aug 2018. Has not had any previous accidents or damage to the airbag.

I was involved in an accident where I was driving my 2016 nissan altima when I rear ended the car in front of me that was stationary at the traffic light. I was traveling approx 30mph, but when I tried to slow down by gently applying my brakes but my nissan altima car did not slow down at all. I then slammed the brakes down firmly, still nothing, the ABS did not engage at all.

Air bag indicator light turns on indicating a failure of the airbag system. I understand this disables this safety system putting all passengers at risk. Air bag sensor light comes on; took to Nissan Glen Burnie MD dealership and believed they rectified the issue (removing debris) and did a reset. Light came back on and took it to Nissan Bowie MD and they could not determine the cause and did a reset. Light came back on and took it to Nissan Bowie MD and B0020-13 code was returned resulting in having to replace seat and sensor (no issue with wiring found). Contacted Nissan after seeing many other complaints for same issue with Altima sensor. No help from Nissan since they don't have it listed for a recall. This represents a major safety issue as my understanding is the air bag is not active when the light is on.

Air bag light is on and occupant classification sensor is malfunctioning. Passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident.

About a month ago my driver side airbag indicator light came on. I called the dealership and they said there were no recalls on my airbag nor had any airbag been repaired. Air bag lights stays on and has been sense the car had 60,000 miles I spoke to the dealer and would not take care of it back then saying the warranty was out and im at 70,000 light still on dash and ive seen multiple recalls on the lass air bad module. I recently purchased this vehicle in february of this year. Upon driving a few times, the air bag sensor light appears and stays on my dash along with when I have a passenger in the car, the passenger air bag sensor does not turn off. It is now march and I still have the same issue.

My rear door will not lock and when you lower the it opens the door I have 47,000 mi on my car and all my rotor have to be replaced. I am concerned that the current air bag recall did not include my car.

I took my vehicle in for the first airbag recall and they fixed the issue. The airbag issue reoccurred again when someone would sit in the passenger seat, the vehicle still showed the passenger airbag disabled. I had people of various weights sitting there ranging from 70 pounds to 140 pounds.

2016 nissan altima sr: the front passenger airbag is off when an adult is in the seat. This is an internment problem. Nissan customer service and dealer stated there is nothing they can do and the airbag is not issue.

Recall 16v244000 airbag light stays on with my wife in pass seat ~ 50% of time. Brought to dealer three times but not fixed. Nissan cs no assistance to fix.

Airbag sensor is according to the nissan dealer only activating the airbag if the passenger is over 120lbs. My wife is under this weight and the airbag off light is on every time we drive somewhere. Nissan has tried to play it off saying it's actually safer for an adult under 120lbs to have the airbag off.

The "Airbag off" light often illuminates when a 130lb adult is sitting in the passenger seat. I assume this means the airbag is disabled, a severe issue.

The light for airbags stays on. It has been on for about two weeks. I see there is a recall call for this problem but it is not coming up with a recall for my vehicle.

The passenger airbag light is on its the submental airbag light.

Rear door would not close properly, and would never lock. With either manuel lock or alarm key lock. Also censor lights would go offon dashboard of airbag being off when no one was sitting there.
