Your 2013 Kia Sportage lost engine power without warning while turning into a gas station at around 50,000 miles, forcing it to coast to a stop. The dealer diagnosed a complete engine failure requiring replacement, but was unable to complete the repair. Kia initially offered warranty coverage under a recall program but later denied coverage claiming the warranty period had expired. A full engine replacement or rebuild will likely be needed to restore your vehicle to working condition.

Your 2013 Kia Sportage experienced a fire that started under the hood while you were driving — smoke came from the cabin vents at a stop light, and flames were visible from the front of the vehicle while parking. The fire extinguished on its own, and your vehicle is part of a safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 23V652000) related to the hydraulic brake system. This issue occurred at 218,000 miles and may require inspection or replacement of brake system components that could be generating excessive heat.

Your 2013 Kia Sportage has been recalled for a brake system issue (Campaign 23V652000), but the repair parts aren't available yet. You're also experiencing an infotainment system that cuts in and out intermittently. The dealer hasn't been able to diagnose or fix either problem, and the recall has been pending longer than seems reasonable. Getting the brake recall completed and the infotainment system repaired will likely require waiting for parts and scheduling service appointments with your Kia dealer.

AFTER AROUND 13/14K MILES, THE FRONT BRAKES BEGAN TO MAKE EXTREME NOISES LIKE VERY LOUD SANDPAPER AGAINST METAL WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE. AFTER THE CAR RAN A LITTLE BIT, THEY WOULD STOP BUT THEN IT PROGRESSED TO A CONSTANT EMBARASSING NOISE. I HAVE HAD IT BACK THREE TIMES IN WHICH THEY EITHER CLEANED OR SPRAYED THE ROTORS. THIS LAST VISIT THEY HAVE EVEN PUT A GRAPHITE BASE ON THEM. TWO WEEKS SINCE THEY DID THAT APPLICATION, HERE I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THEY TELL ME THE BRAKES ARE STILL GOOD. THEY WANTED TO GIVE ME A GOODWILL REPLACEMENT ON THE ROTORS AND PADS BUT WANTED ME TO SIGN OFF THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE FURTHER CLAIMS. WHAT IF MY PROBLEM IS NOT THE PADS OR ROTORS? I HAVE OWNED 5 KIA'S SINCE 2009 AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM ON ANY OF THEM. WHEN I NOW APPLY THE BRAKES HARD, I GET AN INTERNAL GRINDING NOISE. *TR
