Your ignition key became stuck and wouldn't come out. You also noticed you could shift gears without pressing the gear shift button, which shouldn't be possible. This is a safety concern because the key being stuck and the shift interlock failing could prevent proper vehicle control. The issue will likely require diagnosis and repair of the ignition cylinder and shift interlock mechanism.
